for the latest. >> that's the strongest winds will be felt in far southern plymouth county and tropical storm warnings on the south coast of rhode island and connecticut as well. 8 a.m. advisory from the national hurricane center wind 80 miles an hour and moving to the north and northwest. instead of racing out to sea, this is stalled out and pushing a little bit closer to southern new england in the next couple of days t.l and tomorrow and even if it gets closer tomorrow we will have gusts over 50 especially in the islands and 40 to 50 across the cape. right now showers trying to pivot and back to chatham and nantucket where the winds are strongest and moving slowly. i don't expect many showers to arrive until this afternoon. across the cape and islands will you get more mid to late morning

sign before slamming into the cruiser sending the vehicles into nearby yards. both drivers suffered minor injuries. also breaking, crews battling a fire woonsocket, rhode island. the flames broke out on this building on park avenue last night. at least one firefighter was taken to the hospital with injuries and reportedly had to be rescued from the third floor. three children rushed to the hospital after a home catches on fire in middleton. one side of the home is children is in serious conition. no word yet on the cause of the fire. boston police investigating a shooting in jamaica plain. one person was reportedly shot they recall morning. that victim was taken to the hospital. police in the area have roped it off while they try to strack down a suspect. two people taken to the hospital with major injuries after this crash in waltham this morning. looks pretty serious. a fire official says one person was ejected from the vehicle

live in berlin victoria warren 7news. developing a frame ham state university police officer is off the job facing charges for inappropriate conduct towards a student. the officer was arrested saturday afternoon. police say he was on duty when this alleged incident happened facing charges of lewdness and witness intimidation. university police are investigating this and read a statement saying framingham university regards our students, faculty and staff as paramount in our duty to the university community. we will continue to hold our officer's conduct to the highest standards. also this morning police are investigating a mysterious death at a construction site in boston. investigators say a man died after falling into a crane well near benny streets on sunday. police say the injuries he suffered were not from the fall. the cause of death is under

is 250 miles to the south and southeast of new england and it is ever so slowly inching to the north on the track of the national hurricane center getting closer to new england in the next couple of days. it is slow to move. it will get close to us. as it gets closer it loses strength here before finally towards the end of the week getting kicked back out exit stage east and good riddance to that. it's been in the forecast for quite sometime and a cen rains will be on the east coast and how close to southern new england will get. wind and rain heavier showers east of chatham likely backing in the next half hour and showers across nantucket as well. for the rest of us, some showers eventually make it into eastern mass and we have to wait until mid-afternoon before showers get going across eastern mass. they have several dry hours in
taking sometime late today and evening before showers thrown in there. and a couple of showers pinwheeling in. the sustained heavier rain to the south of us. i expect that down through southeastern massachusetts and cape and islands you may pick up one to two inches of rain. will you pick up the wind gusting 40 to the vineyard and nantucket and buoy data gusting and powerfu coast for a few days. and waves have built as well. buoys reporting wave heights 15 to 20 feet. 100 miles south of us and i expect the surf to go downhill and rip current risk going up. next couple of days holding true. careful on the beaches. you probably want to check out rough surf but be careful getting into the water. minor beach erosion and
new england coastline and pockets of coastal flooding nantucket and chatham as well. >> this will not be a huge coastal flood event on the south shore and the tides are astronomically low and wind not as strong out of the east, northeast for the coastline and what we will see to the south. fair game for coastal flooding and beach erosion, cape and islands. >> winds gusting 30-40 miles an hour and 40 plu later today and evening and we may see a few gusts 55 in the vineyard and nantucket and continue to see gusty wind at times and not as strong tuesday and wednesday as showery weather continues to pivot back in. storm gets closer and loses some strength and has the ability to pinwheel in some showers. once scattered showers roll in this afternoon they will be in and out in the next couple of days and a couplingerring

nantucket. the seas are rough. you see waves crashing in on the cape especially on the south side of nantucket and vineyard. the breeze picked up as well with dryness and boston to the merrimack valley and worcester and taking time for showers to pivot back. i expect the bulk to fall in massachusetts in the next couple of days. we will get showers boston west. center of south, southeast wobbling to the north, northwest at 3 miles an hour and looks like it will back track a little bit and we expect showers as well as gusty winds to continue to move in. look at the numbers lower to $000,060s. it feels like fall with the wind north, northeast and steady breeze in boston 13 miles an hour and wind picked up and provincetown and sustained winds 20 to 25 miles an hour occasionally getting pushes
