morning with cool start for us in the upper 30s for some norwood. 37 for low. 38 martha's vineyard. in the 50s for the city of boston. but still a nice night to open up the windows let that fresh air in. give the ac a break. we'll get another one of those nights to night. current temperatures are slow to warm. but we're getting there. 62 in boston. we have mid 50s norwood stretching to bedford. 54 right now and the sunshine is really trying to take over. worcester, wall-to-wall stretching down to providence, rhode island we still got some patchy cloud cover. but that will continue to mix its way out as we head into the afternoon and the temperatures will respond the sunshine. low-to-mid 70s for most of us coolest along the coastline. looks like upper 60s with a touch of a sea breeze. and we see dry today. tomorrow as well. next weather maker out west and we will see this front sweeping through for us but for now high pressure is in control.
9:45 am
sunshine in place for us. as it slides further to east it will give a bit of return follow. that starts to warmer temperatures into tomorrow. and by the time we hit sunday it's pumping in more moisture as well. it will be mild and also muggy for the second half of the weekend. and we start to pay attention to those showers that work along this front. i got to be honest honest with you. we've seen this kind of set up time and time again this summer where the fronts sweep through and they promise a moisture. and we really, really need it. we will take every drop we can get and then they just tend to not be impressive as we sweep through the area. scattered showers i think is what we're expecting as we get through sunday. not a washout. but a keep the rain gear on stand by kind of day. more likely to see those localized downpours sunday night into monday and again localized. that means one town could pick up an inch of rain another town may pick up a couple of tenths
9:46 am
the question is will be be able to tap into the moisture. it's a possible we could break off a piece of that bar. but for the most part this is wobbling off this southeastern u.s. coastline and it will continue to dissipate and sort of washout. in the bigger picture again not a direct impact but we might be able to just kind of squeeze some of that moisture up here and give us some more impressive totals as far as rain goes. i'm going with an inch to inch. very localized for us if we can set up the downpours. but for the rest of us maybe choser to half an inch. again we'll take every drop we can get. better chance for the heyest rain. rumble of thunder as well. doesn't it look like back to summer as we head into the middle of next week. we highs in the low 80s. >> this is weird we're talking about comfort food here for this segment. it is a little bit chillier.
