sarah really a terrible crash out here right along route 1-5 -- a before you get to airport. you can see where the man crashed his car. now we have learned the man has died. the car after it hit the pole ended up off the road. airbag deployed and the metal all twisted around 1:30 in the morning. paramedics rushed the man to the hospital after he was there was nobody else inside the car. accident reconstruction team were called out to scene. they were out here for several hours last night. they did clear very early this morning. but they are still working on their investigation. there's still no official word on what may have caused this crash that has killed a man. live in east boston, victoria warren. 7news "today in new england." also breaking overnight
lemonster. only one car was involved. there's no word yet on the cause. this morning a missing boater found at sea returning home. amid an investigation. right now police look into where he planned on travelling. and if his boats safe to operate. all of this while his mother remains missing. here's tim caputo with more from vermont. 22-year-old nathan carmen back home in vermont tonight. i feel healthy. emotionally i've been through a huge amount. and my request is to be allowed to mourn naturally. carmen and 58-year-old mother left rhode island on deep sea fishing trip on september 18th. they didn't come home that night as planned. >> there was a funny noise in the engine compartment.
audio of phone call nathan made after he was rescued by a china freighter as he explained what happened that day. >> i got to the life raft and i was whistling and calling and looking around and i didn't see her >> his mother hasn't been found even though the search guard searched a 65 mile area week. >> i would like to thank everyone for their concerns and the crew of the ship that rescued me. both for rescuing me and for treating me very well. on monday night police search nathan's vermont home the search warrant reveal police took a motive with cable. gps card and letter written by nathan all possiblers that could reveal nathan's destination for the fishing trip. police seemed to focus on the maintenance and upkeep of nathan's 31-foot aluminum boat.

defensively he's involving in all four downplay on first, second, third and fourth down. we throw a lot of works hard at it. and he was in good position and take a lot of plays. he has a lot out there in practice. glad we have him. when he first came to league. i remember seeing the decision making process. have you seen an improvement in that. different level now? >> he's he plays well. he throws the ball well. certainly part of the running game that you have respect. he's capable of running and making good plays. and the passing game. you know if it's there he can hit it. if it's not there he has the ability to extend plays. he made a lot of good plays. more passing and running. although he has some running like he had to scramble against
extra time. usually for big chunks of yardage. all those areas he's done a good job. it's really did resultive player. he's instinctive. he has anticipation for plays. that i'm not sure how he does it. but he does it effectively. he has a tremendous motor. he makes a lot of plays on second ever effort. where he comes off a block and hits the quarterback or makes a tackle or that type of thing. he also makes a lot of plays on quickness. >> he can knock blockers back.

may california. police releasing this video or this photo i should say from cell phone video of that shooting. officials say the officer opened fire at him after he pointed an object in what they called a shooting stance. unclear what the object was police say however it was not a gun. the officers there near san diego responded to the scene. this was in el cajon after the man sister called saying he was acting eradically and walking in and out of trafc. it led to protest at the scene and in front of the police station. dozens of protestor demonstrated throughout the day alleging that racism caused man to be killed by police. plates say they will not release the cell phone video of the shooting as they continue to investigate what happened. "today in new england" will

deliberately started a fire inside a wal-mart in stirbridge. fire crews from several towns responded. the flames were put out pretty quickly. right now canton police search for suspect in an alarming crime at an elementary school. a group of people were seen on video setting fire to a playground. the video shows them rolling a flame and trash barrel of paper across the playground there. the suspect set a dumr fire as well. the kids were surprised. who are these bad people out there. >> they have additional surveillance video there analyzing. we have new details on deadly drive into a newton restaurant. now court document reveal the driver allegedly killed two people was speeding at the i'm impact.

low meanders from the great lakes into ohio valley. consistent rains over 5 inches of it down through portions of the mid atlantic. we're not going to tap into this here. although it does let up grip across new england a better chance of getting showers in here friday afternoon. near the south coast over an i think most of that would fall here late in the week and early in the weekend. the next named storm as it enters the caribbean. where it goes after that next week all eyes on weather goes north toward the bahamas. breezy and cooler today. 56 to 62 is where we are at and where we stay not much movement
