miles an hour. at time gusting 20 to 25. some sun this morning in boston. didn't last that long. clouds have backed off the ocean. and i think at time you will see a few breaks of sun in boston. the brightest conditions found through the merrimack valley southern new hampshire southern worcester county. some showers arriving tomorrow and looks like once the showers awry especially later on in the afternoon into the evening hours wield hold true during the day on saturday. if we pick up a decent amount of friday night into saturday. couple of left over showers sunday. we'll talk about that, ahead. a woman in weymouth rescued after crews pull her out of roadside ravine in weymouth. police say that women had duct tape on her hands and feet. they don't believe there's a threat to the public, though. we should mention that. let's head out live to weymouth. victoria warren is there. what do we know right now,

from weymouth police a short time ago. they tell us that this women told them that a man dropped her off at the ravine. she had her wrist and her ankles duct taped together but beyond that weymouth police say this women is being very vague. all of this started as an investigation with a 911 call around 8:00 last night. this women 18 years old. called police they found her in a ravine and they had to use their sirens and call out for her to actually find her because she didn't know her exact location. she went to weymouth police say they are investigating this as a possible sex assault but they still have to connect all the dots. that woman told them she had never met the man before yesterday but that she does sometimes meet men through online web sites. weymouth police say her story was vague and she didn't fully cooperate with them. they say she's not from the area. but they did find her bicycle nearby. they do, feel confident there's no threat to the public.

and fans are hoping that another banner will go up and see if they can clinch the world series. that's the latest live in the control room. nicole oliverio. 7news "today in new england." also this morning questions swirling after a missing boater returns to shore while his mother is still lost at sea. and now we're starting to learn more about his family's past including a murder that claimed the lives his grandfather. here's john cocoa with the latest from vermont. >> my mother just died. i'm trying to process way. >> reporter: he was once a suspect in the murder of his grandfather. 87-year-old john chocolos. now there's more controversy surrounding 22-year-old nathan carmen. after he went on fishing trip with his 54-year-old mother linda but she never returned. and is now presumed dead. while on the fishing trip his boat apparently took on water and sank off the coast of block island. tuesday night we spoke with nathan. right as he got home after

i would like to thank the public for their prayers and for their concern for both my mother and myself. and i would like to thank the crew of the ship that rescued me. both for rescuing me and for treating me very well. >> monday police searched his home. according to the warrant carmen did many repairs to his bolt and might have left the boat unsafe for operation and three years ago nathan was considered a suspect in h death of his grandfather who was shot in the home in connecticut. police thought he did it. but there were no witnesses, prosecutors didn't charge him. >> the past was the past. i wish the press would leave it alone. because he was not involved with his grandfather or with his mother. >> carmen's father said his son is victim who needs support not punishment. >> very difficult situation. none of us really know what he went through.

>> officials in south carolina looking for some kind of answer after elementary school shooting. a teenager opened fire hitting two young students. let's go to nancy chin. >> good morning to you. 6-year-old boy remains in critical condition. as police try to piece together why this happened. >> it was near the end of the school year when authorities learned a gunman on the elementary school shooter teenager armed with handgun opened fire on the playground. an off duty firefighter stopped the shooter before he could actually go inside the school. and he engaged the suspect and at that point tooblg him down. and then law enforcement was quickly behind him. the entire thing over about 15 minutes after the initial call. authorities say two male students and one female student were hurt. one of those injured critically.

tuesday. police say the 38-year-old was holding the e-cigarette and what they called a shooting stance. with that another night of pro testing in el cajon. a donald trump hat led to outburst of violence from protestors. they pushed and chased a man around the parking lot after seeing him wearing that cap that said make america great again. both officers involved have now been placed on administrative eave. new this morning firefighter responding to a hazardous situation at a 99 restaurant in it happened on belmonte street late last night. fire officials say a mixture of chemicals caused some sort of reaction. the situation has been contained. still ahead a dangerous drive up in new hampshire. an 8-year-old girl back up up a car over her toddler's sister. >> frightening moment for one driver after hitting a deer. that animal coming right for her. >> another cool and breezy day ahead of us. not much rain to talk about. different story as we end the weekend and head into the

you tell it's not necessarily know. grass is green. not a lot of green grass around here. northeaster i will wind in boston at 18 miles per hour. we have cool ocean brees once again. 56 in town. 53 in bedford. we had sunshine briefly for a little while here in the city to start the day. more cloud backing in off the ocean and cool ocean brees gust u take a look at wall of clouds off to the east of us and some of this continues to stream on in. although you get north and west of 495 you will have best chance of maintaining a little bit more in the way of sunny skies. every once in a while cloud mixing in. not saying we will get more sun. could get breaks into the afternoon. generally speaking the further north and west you go in new england better chance of getting some sunshine. big old area of low pressure

valley. pattern stuck as this area of high pressure that's nosed into new england now does retreat a little bit. then you introduce the chance of steadier showers late friday, friday night into saturday. doesn't mean it will rain the whole time. although i do think at times it will be quite damp out there even with a lot of low level moisture in place despite not having many heavier showers in here probably get batches of drizzle around. we're not expecting a lot of we get into early afternoon tomorrow. many town picking up next to nothing here. once we get into tomorrow afternoon. tomorrow night and even into saturday. that's when the showers start to add on up. there may be some towns down near the south coast of new england that pick up over an inch. thinking like the flash flood stuff. down across the mid atlantic. they will deal with copous amount of water. tropical storm matthew into the eastern caribbean.

miles per hour. tremendous amount of warm water down in the caribbean. this will strengthen once the wind shear lets up and strengthen into category two hurricane by the end of the weekend into early next week as it takes that right turn toward the basically between jamaica and haiti looks like it has eyes set on the eastern half of cuba. we'll keep an eye on things see how that evolves early next week. 58 to 65. we have most sunshine throu couple of degree either side of 60. 46 to 55 tonight. coolest locations in the north and west of boston. low-to-mid 50s in the city. many of the surrounding suburbs. cooler and breezy tomorrow. if you have showers arriving couple of degrees either side of 60. that's where we stay into the weekend. including at gillette. we will not say it will rain the entire time. we may catch showers or patches of drizzle. certainly looks like fall, new england weather here heading

station there. this is happened just 7 miles away from new york city. we know emergency crews are on the scene and photo from the scene show severe damage debris scattered around no exact word on injury at this time. certainly we will keep you posted as we learn more. >> 9:23 right now. a dangerout encounter after women's truck hit a deer and all caught on camera after hitting the deer the animal then came right for her. he had to fight it off before it was mad. it was real mad it's not unusual to see a deer on this road especially this time of year what's very unusual is to see a deer do this. anywhere. a woman struggling with and literally kicking one out of her truck last sunday night. it was trying to get in. i dent exactly know why. but it was definitely trying to get in. the women hit the deer with her truck first. left a small mark on the hood and seemed to take off.

in nearby places. low 60s this afternoon we head into the weekend. we hold temperature near 60 and increase the rain chance more on that forecast, ahead. >> a commuter train has crashed into a station. this is all going on outside of new york city just about 7 miles outside. emergency crews are on the scene. and photo have that area show a lot of damage and some quite a bit ofri we don't know exactly about injury. we will certainly update when we get more information into the newsroom. >> we also have developing news from weymouth where police investigate a possible sexual assault after a woman was found in ravine on the side of the road. first responder pulled the 18-year-old out of the woods last night after investigators say she had called for help but didn't know where she was. police say the woman told them a man had dropped her off there. officers also say they found duct tape on her hands and feet. investigator believe this wasn't

early wednesday morning. and now detectives are looking for the person you see in this footage. also this morning a burlington high school football coach has been suspended after allegation of inappropriate behavior. head coach shawn maguire on administrative leave. several parents though protested outside the school on wednesday defending mcgwire for the impact he has had on students. my son has been with years. he's good. he's tough but that's what they -- that's what they need to win. our culture and tough. they don't know how to take it anymore. so mcgwire's attorney said he denies those allegations if. this morning police are still searching for answers after a deadly crash in westport. investigators say three people were killed when a van swerved into traffic and slammed head first into a car. three other people were hurt in

>> a former priest and dorchester alter boy supervisor answering to sexual abuse charges. 7-year-old michael walsh appearing in court on wednesday accused of raping an underaged boy he met almost 30 years ago through the church. alleged victim now 38 years old came forward in june. prosecutors say walsh repeatedly raped the victim in grade school at the time. and a statement the alleged victim said i hope i by coming forward will allow other victims well. i do not want him to do this to any other children. also on 7 a somber day in south florida as family friends and fans gathered to say good-bye to a miami marlins picture. jose fernandez was just 24 when he died in that boating accident last weekend. bryan enton has more from yesterday's ceremonies. >> jose fernandez body arrives at saint brenton church after journey through the city of

>> back at 9:43. we've been updating you on this news. you're getting your first look at this commuter train crash. as you can see there the train has made its way there to this area kind of between the waiting area and the platform. looks like aot here. this is an aerial photo or aerial visual of what's going on here. this is the train station and we understand that this is final stop for several trains on this line. this is a xhulter rail tra rail -- commuter rail train. we don't know about injury. but appears to be extensive damage to the station itself. we know emergency crews are on the scene. we'll certainly keep you updated as we learn more. clearly a very serious situation

on in. thanks to the low level moisture in the clouds working back in. but i think the bulk of the rain that we get over the next few days will likely fall late tomorrow into saturday here. as we increase the rain chance across the area. and if we get steadier rain and heavier amounts like an inch plus i think it's more prone to the south coast of new england than let's say in the boston area up through the merrimack valley. the further north you go in new england the lighter amounts of rain we'll see. here's tca you need 74 miles per hour to get hurricane. we're at 70 here. we'll likely become a hurricane. certainly by the weekend and then as it takes the north turn continues to strengthen over the warm waters of the caribbean. there's jamaica there. there's haiti. there's cuba. this thing will come right through that area and move north into the bahamas early next week. we'll keep an eye on things down the line. 58 to 65 today. that's 65 will be across

worse county. i think it will take a run into the mid-60s. couple of degrees either side of 50. showers tomorrow most of it in the afternoon. damp afternoon cool and breezy. not a tremendous amount of water in the afternoon. i think better chance late in the day in the overnight hours. i may be a battle at times over the weekend for the sox and bluejays trying to get some games in. you know if it's one of those set ups where the rain lightens up and patchy drizzle. then you play ball. if it's solid batch of showers how about at gillette. we play rain or shine; right? it will be a raw, cool and damp out there sunday. 7 on 7 forecast into early next week. we see some sun returning by tuesday and wednesday.

the buffer in between with this area that's meant to stop run away trains just went right through that. one train passenger is being tweeted out saying that they saw a women pinned under concrete. people bleeding. a man crying so. clearly a scene of devastation there this morning. at least one of the new jersey trans-italian cars in some of the pictures that we're seeing appears to be partially inside that building with some of those s hold up the canopy with the train come just completely caved in there. this picture you can see people tweeting out lucky to be alive. we're hearing that those first two cars there were super packed. because they were easy to exit into the hoboken station on the path train. passengers in that second car broke the emergency windows to get out. it's really a devastating scene there right now. >> if you are just joining us
