a move on the sidelines and his latest facebook post following the patriots big victory. we have some breaking news. crews battling a fire in borne early this morning. broke out at howard canal on sandwich road. you can see the flames from the roof of the building. heavy winds caused flames to spread. the red cross is on scene helping the people who were displaced by the fire. now to a developing story. two suspect tracked down with a murder in oran and women both in their 20s were found in virginia where the victim stolen car was also found. >> two people now under arrest for the violent crimes that happened inside this home in orange. october 5th. the northwestern district attorney said 95-year-old thomas hardy was murdered. joanna fisher stabbed and left injured. fisher's son spoke with # new last week and had this to say

throughout the day today. not quite as windy as it was late yesterday and last night. look at the rain reports from nantucket. boston picking up 1.84 inches of rain. stow over an inch of water. along 495. you get north and west of there rainfall totals taper off a bit. if you think in boston i can't remember the last time all saw this much rain in the day. you have to go back tst we picked up over 2 inch of water on september 30th. it's been quite sometime. we needed the rain though and hardly a dent but it was beneficial you know finally instead of quarter inch of half an inch you threw down 1-3. good news there. the bad new obviously the timing didn't work out being on a sunday. sox game got rained out.

today as the rain now well to north and east of us. in the wake we have a breeze. because of that there's a wind advisory in place until 6:00 p.m. for the cape and island. that wind will gust 40 to 50 miles per hour. in fact it's gusting 41 on nantucket. 38 provincetown. 23 worcester. i think the gust 25 to 30 maybe near 35 consistent across new england with the highest speeds down through the cape and island through day. they do starto pretty big drop off in the wind starting the day tomorrow. these are the wind speeds tomorrow. very light a little bit of ocean sea breeze kicking in, in the afternoon. the wind relatively light into wednesday as well. we're not dealing with powerful wind all week long. i think today will be the windiest day of the next several coming up. 48 degrees in boston. 44 in worcester. you factor in the wind and feels like upper 30s this morning. so certainly need the sweatshirt of the jacket.

staying with us as we go throughout much of the week. i don't expect many rain chances ahead of us. we get into late wednesday. it will eventually work in here for late on thursday. this system that you see here is tropical storm nicole. likely a hurricane. it will stay out in the open waters here with the exception of getting close to bermuda. as a hurricane it's not a concern for the east coast, though of the united states. 54 to 60 outside this afternoon. so we'll warm it up. sunshine gets to work. gusty wind and breeze starts to clocken off around first pitch at fenway. still a little bit of breeze blowing in from left to right. temperature back into the mid 50s by first pitch falling likely into the upper 40s and low 50s by the end of the game. look at this. frosty in the suburbs to night. 31 to 45. sunshine seasonable tomorrow.

week overall. spot shower later thursday or thursday night. otherwise the week is dry. we're tracking hurricane matthew this morning. flooding continues to bury parts of the southern u.s. as the death toll continues to rise. 19 people have been killed in florida, georgia and the carolinas. official say the worst of the storm has passed. but rising water levels have kept evacuation order in place. more than 1 million people are still without power right now. the coast guard rescuing you can see this person climbing out of his front door on to the roof as water flooded the home. crews helped him into helicopter and airlifted him to safety. hurricane leading to historic discovery along the south carolina beach. crew finding a dozen cannonballs. the bomb squad able to recover them and detonate them in a seclude instead.

self more injured in this crash. this is extremely unusual to have this many fatality in crash. this man was driving the truck the wrong way when he hit another car. an officer found the car ungulfed in flames. that's when apply say he stole the cruiser and sped away with the lights still flashing. but after running into police he turned around headed back toward the initial scene and hit 7 more vehicles before being custody. it's difficult for not only the members on scene rescue personal that reresponded fire personal but also the families that are going to have to deal with this after the fact. >> christa delcamp, 7news "today in new england." and tonight there's a candlelight vigil in harwood vermont where the five teens attended high school. also on 7 the ntsb is investigating a train derailment that left dozen injured in long island. officials say the train came off

it's really the remnant low that will move in to canadian maritimes from matthew. far enough away we didn't get any direct impact in terms of hurricane force winds. but it was windy yesterday and that strong breeze continues today. gusting near 40 miles per hour across the cape. occasionally maybe a few gusts closer to 50. gust to 30 in boston. 23 miles an hour in worcester. you factor in that wind and temperature running into the mid-to-upper 40s, it's a bit of chilly start to the day. no question about sweatshirt. the windchill factor 37. 41 in boston right now. at least we have that sunshine loft sunshine to go ahead over the next several day. almost looks like a blank map through today. into tomorrow morning. i do expect mainly clear skies to prevail on tuesday as well. it will be cool start tomorrow. a lot of frost in the suburbs as temperature dip into the lower-to-middle tilt. frost advisory from the coastline in then you work your way inland.
