honoring an american icon. >> announcer: 7 news 5:30 starts now. >> ryan: today is the day to voice your choice. both candidates casting their ballots earlier today. it has been an historic election, one we'll not forget. >> jadiann: let's get over to kim khazei with more. >> reporter: both candidates have cast their ballots. they did it in new york today. hillary clinton headed to the polls chappaqua in upstate new york just after 8:00 am and she was' joined by husband former president bill clinton and tim came also voted in his home state of virginia. after coasting her ballot this is what secretary clinton had to say. >> it is the most humbling feeling, dan, because, you know, i know how much responsibility goes with this, and so many people are counting on the outcome of this election.

trump hinted he may not accept the results if he loses. asked again he couldn't give a definitive answer or whether he will concede if clinton wins. i'm kim khazei, 7 news. >> ryan: some local republicans plan to gather to watch the results roll n. earlier a group of them came in to make a last push to the voter. steve cooper has more. >> reporter: no shortage of enthusiasm from state republicans who have' been working the polls. phones. the governor was here earlier to ensure that voters vote. >> i agree with you. i think it's the sort of thing we'll be seeing a lot more of in the future. >> reporter: state republicans including the governor gathering her late this afternoon at the massachusetts g.o.p. victory office with a last-minute push on the phones to get out the vote. >> it's great. there is a lot of excitement out there. i've been out since about 7:15, my own polling location down the cape. down to women out. up here to pembroke and you

jennifer egan joins us with more, jen. >> reporter: jadiann, they are heaping to be celebrating a hillary clinton win inside the fairmont copley ballroom later tonight. some of the state's biggest political heavy weights spend time outside of massachusetts including senator elizabeth warren who had closing words for donald trump. >> : massachusetts democrats rallying support in new hampshire today. >> hello new hampshire. >> reporter: with state dependably blue they felt their time was best spent in the battleground state. >> the election may turn out to happen right here in new hampshire. i wanted to be here to help out in any way i can. >> reporter: senator warren thanked volunteers alongside massachusetts attorney general maura healey and congresswoman katherine clack. >> people were saying go hillary, go maggie. >> reporter: boss mayor

it was kayoes. >> reporter: jaylen brown says he will reschedule. nancy chen, 7 news. >> ryan: a georgetown police officer rushed to the hospital after he was hit in a crash in rowley. police say he was rear ended on the northbound side of i-95. the officer was pulled over on the side of the highway doing work for a construction site when he was hit. the driver of the car was also taken to the hospital. both are expected to be okay. burlington police searching for a bank robber. detectives say this man robbed a bank yesterday afternoon. according to officers, the suspect handed the tell area vote demanding cash. >> jadiann: a high school soccer team playing tribute to one of their own. >> ryan: we are continuing our election coverage coming up at 6:00. taking you to new york where both campaigns are preparing for a showdown. all coming up here on 7

say good-bye to that and he will orbs to the clouds moving in from new york and pennsylvania. a narrow band of rain shower activity approaching buffalo and toronto and that is a cool front. this is our weather system for tomorrow. at this time there is an impressive band of rain through portions of the ohio river valley but as the weather system, as the front get closer to new england it falls apart. not much in the way of rain. really not much cool air you work up through the great lakes states, up to southern canada, lower 50s, 56 to 52. not a cool front but a little change in the air. clouds on the increase. temperatures for most of us in the 40es, a cool spot upper 30s, downtown boston in the low 50ss, normal high of 64. really even tomorrow, mild because the cool front doesn't show up with the cool air until after tomorrow afternoon.
