while sanders is doing this...we're also following two developments. there's increased speculation vice president joe biden will enter the race as another democratic presidential candidate. and jim webb...who is a democratic candidate...holds a news conference tomorrow...where he'll discuss changing and running as an independent instead. hillary clinton is bringing some star power to the jefferson-jackson dinner in des moines this coming weekend. along with her husband, former president bill clinton, pop-star katy perry will be tagging along for the event. both will attend a rally on 5th avenue downtown right before the jefferson-jackson dinner at hy-vee hall. for 92 years iowa state university held the annual veishea celebration on its campus...but violence over the years forced the school to bring it to an end. now student leaders are looking to create new traditions. instead she reached a plea deal... admitting to two of the five charges against her. police arrested williamson last may after seeing video taken from hidden cameras set up by her estranged husband. that video shows her allegedly abusing three children. this morning williamson came clean about what she did. 4:14 i handled the children roughly. i handled a.n. rougly and n.r roughly. where one was crying and you can tell there might have been a potential injury. williamson is scheduled to be sentenced on december 8-th, and she could spend up to 7 years in prison. after a full day of deliberations the jury has yet to reach a verdict in the pleasant hill shooting case... pete polson is charged with three counts of attempted murder among after police say he went on a shooting spree last november... stephanie moore has an update.. the jury was officially handed the case late friday afternoon but only had 15 minutes to deliberate

deliberated for seven hours with no decision made... vo- the week long trial included 40 witnesses 37 of those from the prosecution and three from the defense including polson himself. polson is using an intoxication defense and when on the stand told the jury he didn't remember the shooting and credits that towards a bad hit of meth the night before. in its case the prosecution said polson knew what he was doing when he shot at three people injuring two and narrowly missing a third. and he should be held accountable for his actions... steph tag- the jury deliberated until the courthouse closed at 4:30, they will return tomorrow at 9 and continue... thank you stephanie.... polson is facing nine charges in all, three counts of attempted murder, two counts of willful injury and drug and weapons charges authorities in western iowa have arrested a bank robbery suspect. pottawattamie county deputies say this man reportedly robbed farmers- merchants state bank in neola on wednesday.

then on friday officials identified the man as 37-year-old jesse specht from council bluffs as the suspect. they later located pecht at a hotel in omaha. police arrested and charged him with second degree robbery charges. a local family woke up this morning to find their deck had caught fire. norwalk fire fighters were called to this house on blue stem road around one. investigators believe the fire started on the grill and quickly spread from there. everyone was able to get out safely. west des moines fire fighters were also called in to help put out the fire. fires are becoming a major threat around the state. the state fire marshall added 6 more counties a burn ban list.....that brings the total to 18. officials say the dry conditions in those counties making things like grills or bonfires a danger to spark brush fires. we'll go now to chief meteorologist ed wilson...ed can we expect any rain

that dry weather is helping farmers finish their harvest a bit faster this year. but some state leaders are worried about how much money those crops will bring in. after the break...if governor revenues from this year's harvest will hurt the state. this weekend the iowa state football team took on 3-rd rank t-c-u ... this coming saturday they will go against second ranked baylor. how the cyclones are preparing themselves for another tough opponent. despite efforts from the d-n-r

with skyrocketing out-of-pocket costs. commentator: the 32-year-old head of a pharmaceutical company raised the price of a life-saving drug overnight by 5,000%. i'm announcing a detailed plan to crack down on these abuses. commentator: he may be lowering it after hillary clinton blasted him out of the water. her plan would limit the out-of-pocket costs that consumers have to pay. clinton: nobody in america should have to choose between buying the medicine they need and paying their rent.

another iowa county. officials with the department of natural resources say the ash borer was found south of cedar rapids. the invasive insect was interstate-380. that means the beetle has been found in 29 iowa counties. the ash borer kills ash trees and stopping the transportation of water and nutrients. on moving firewood to keep the pest from migrating. a lack of rain is helping farmers finish harvesting a little quicker. iowa secretary of agriculture bill northy says 52-percent of corn has already been harvested. northy also reports that the dry weather helped farmers catch up to the five year average. officials say that 83-percent of soybeans have been harvested as well. despite a large amount of crops being harvested...farmers might not get much money for their yield. last week the revenue

estimating conference reported that tax revenue will be down in the coming year. today governor branstad said those low returns won't force the legislature to make changes to this year's budget. but the governor says the state is prepared to deal with low returns. 28:53 the good news is that we have been fiscally responsible and we made tough decisions to reduce the size and cost of government over the last five years we've restored all the money in the cash reserve in economic emergency account. and so i think we are well prepared to meet the challenges we're facing. 29:11 however the governor did say that low returns could affect next year's budget. but he won't know how much until december. people in central new york got a very rude awakening this morning. the first layer of snow fell across oswego county. some areas, including the town of parish, got up to nine inches. luckily the snow is not expected to extend into this week
