the district says there were close to 60 eighth and ninth graders on the bus at the time of the incident... school counselors reached out to each student and their family yesterday.... and offered their services a des moines woman is charged with child endangerment for allegedly leaving her sick child in a cold and unlocked car. it happened wednesday night at the walgreens on southeast 14th street. witnesses called police after noticing the 11-month old crying in her car seat. officers put the child in their squad car to get warm and paged the mother. police found 23-year-old stephanie hebron in the pharmacy area. hebron says the baby had been diagnosed with bronchitis. officers contacted the child's grandmother...who lives with hebron...and released the child to her. the city of polk city says both it's vehicles have been found... the two trucks...like the one you see here...were both found northeast of the city before the noon hour today. they were reported stolen from the maintenance facility yesterday. officials are
still trying to figure out who took them...and where they've been. if you saw the trucks anytime between wednesday afternoon and thursday morning...you're urged to call authorities. a waterloo police officer has died of an unknown medical trauma. 35-year-old adam liddle has been working for the department for three years. he also previously worked for the black hawk county sheriff's office. liddle's last shift was wednesday night...he died thursday. according to the chief...liddle's death is being reviewed to see if it meets criteria under the "hometown heroes act" to be considered a "line of duty death." liddle leaves behind a wife and a ten-year-old son. ames police are putting in extra hours to keep you safe over the holiday weekend. a special halloween enforcement project runs tonight and tomorrow. officers will be looking for people speeding and driving under the influence. when they're not responding to emergencies or writing tickets... des moines police will be handing out treats tonight. about 20-squad cars will be patrolling the streets this beggars night. when they have the chance... officers will hop out of their cars and

it's a big day in nevada... today marks the opening of dupont's cellulosic ethanol plant. the 225-million-dollar facility largest plant of its kind... producing fuel corn stalks, leaves and cobs... rather than corn itself. the plant is creating 85 permanent jobs and will employ 150 seasonal... who will collect all the harvest by-products. more than 5-hundred local farmers are also being paid for their leftovers. simply put good policies can ceremony is example of what's possible when government and private industry all work together for a common goal. the plant opens at a challenging time for the ethanol industry. the e-p-a is scheduled to come up with its final recommendations next month on proposed cuts to the renewable fuel standard. four iowa lawmakers are calling
investigation into the privatization of medicaid in iowa. it comes after new allegations surfaced during administrative hearings yesterday. just days after "wellcare" was selected to oversee the process...former state legislator renee schulte took a job with the company. three others companies lost out... they claim schulte is the reason why. evidence submitted yesterday shows she exchanged emails with the state medicaid director during a blackout period meant to ensure fairness to all the bidders. the lawmaker who want the oversight committee to look into this say it's necessary because this is the largest contract in state history. they're asking for a meeting on november 18th. a veteran who served in the vietnam conflict is finally receiving his medals. congressman dave loebsack presented the medals to robert swan in newton today. swan received the purple heart and the bronze star... to name a

ten of the republican presidential candidates will be at one des moines event tomorrow. this new event is called the "growth and opportunity party". crews put last minute touches on the varied industries building at the state fair grounds today. doors open at 10-30 tomorrow morning. ten of the republican candidates will speak to the thousands expected to attend. ben carson, donald trump and john kasich will not be there... organizers say they were invited but had scheduling conflicts. 51:35-51:57 it's going to be a mixture of the typical event, but in addition it's going to be sort of a fair or festival time. so people will be up and moving around. go to each booth. kids can come dressed and go trick or treating from booth to booth. we want time. we let their feet get cold. the three candidates not
