news at noon front door open good afternoon. i'm megan reuther, thank you for joining us. people in one des moines neighborhood are worried after a car ran off an interstate ramp and into a house for the second time is as many months. a man drove his truck into the yard of 17-29 lyon street shortly after ten this morning. paramedics took the driver to the hospital. no word on his condition this afternoon. witnesses say he was getting onto i- 235 on the east 15-th ramp. that's when he ran off the road, knocked down a light pole, ran through an interstate fence, into a big yard and crossed lyon street. he ended up driving right up against the house. we don't know what caused him to run off the road. but, neighbors say something similar happened a couple months ago. "it's just scary, you know, people who live over

kids last time." two dogs were riding in a kennel in the back of the truck. the a-r-l picked them up from the scene. we are learning more about the motive behind the mass shooting in san bernardino, california that left fourteen people dead and more than twenty wounded. nbc news has learned the wife of the couple who carried the attacks pledged allegiance to isis on a facebook post prior to the attack. jay gray is in california with the latest.. a stunning discovery in the case this morning, nbc news has learned tashfeen malik pledged alligiance to the leader of isis in a facebook post just before she allegedy killed fourteen and wounded more than twenty durning an attack at the inland regional center wednesday. "this took days, weeks, if not months to plan out. there's nothing impulsive about this shooting at all."

also be fort dodge as well as jefferson later this afternoon. three other candidates will spend the day in the state. the issue of gun control will dominate ted cruz's visit in johnston at the crossroads shooting sports for a second amendment coalition event later this afternoon at 3. rick santorum will host a campaign christmas party at this iowa headquarters in urbandale tonight at 5 o'clock. and democratic presidential hopeful hillary clinton will hold a town hall meeting in fort dodge this afternoon at 4-15. and the latest numbers shows these republican hopefuls have a lot of ground to cover. a cnn o-r-c poll released this morning has donald trump still on top, this time with 36 percent among likely caucus goers lending their support. that's 20 points over cruz, who comes in second. followed by retired neurosurgeon ben carson with 14 percent. and florida senator marco rubio rounds out the top 4 with 12

getting the roof on the new 75 million dollar high school will allow crews to work on the interior through the winter. crews say they're still on pace to complete construction by april of 20 - 17. you'll have plenty of opportunities to get into the holiday spirit tonight. this evening the city of waukee will hold their annual winterfest celebration. they have a long list of activities on the schedule... including ornament decorating, tractor rides and pictures with santa. organizers say they are grateful the cooperate. the frigid temps over the past couple winters has forced them to move the celebration inside. with everything moving back outside, they hope the turn out to be big many toys as possible. we are holding our third donate new unwrapped gifts. all of those toys will be donated to waukee christian services. if you want go to waukee's winterfest it is free to

season.. so i wanted to see how the overall year looked in terms of weather. and things for the most part have gone pretty well according to state climatologist harry hillaker.. a fairly warm and dry spring allowed for timely planting.. a fairly distributed rain fall during the summer with little excessive heat.. then a really long dry spell in the fall helped farmers with drying and harvesting crops..... "a little bit on the warmer side, but not negative effects from that. and on the rainfall side of things most of the state quite a bit wetter than usual. the exceptions will be the far northeast and southeast corners of the state especially the northeast, which was drier than normal much of the season. but for the most part, relatively wet year, and just a little bit on the warm side." hillaker says the most abnormal part of the season was

"we've seen a nice rally in the grain sector, led mostly by the soy complex. we've surged back to 9 dollars in the nearby contracts.." "i think you're probably going to see an increased level of farmer selling probably next week ahead of the monthly supply and demand report and see producers take advantage of that. support has been coming from steady export business we had a
