is moving forward this morning... that's as students get ready to crowd campus again... and cross a deadly intersection on their way to class.. that's what emmalee jacobs was doing three weeks ago when she was hit and killed on lincoln way... officers have yet to find the driver who killed her. public works officials say they already had plans to launch a safety push... but those plans were sped up after jacobs was killed... come monday, they'll be passing out fliers reminding students to cross carefully... the intersection already has audio and visual crossing cues... but now, they're assessing

'there might be some improvements we can still make at that intersection.' since the accident police have looked at nearly 30-tips in the case. all turned up nothing. and if you have any information about the case.. this is the number to call... story county crime stoppers at 515-382- 7577. the case for another deadly crash will come up in court today... police say troy mure junior was speeding when he crashed into a tree last month ... killing his passenger, scalicity perez. he is now charged with vehicular homicide by reckless driving... police also thought he may have been intoxicated at the time... but those charges were dropped last month... mure claims he was speeding to get away from another car that was chasing him. he's entered a written arraignment for his appearance in polk county court today.
with an arrest last night. police were trying to pull over a driver... when they say he drove across a grassy area near m-l-k parkway and 19th street. the driver then hit a snowbank.. and took off on foot near the smokey row coffee shop. he was caught a short time later. police have are not yet releasing the suspect's name or charges. 45 iowa guard soldiers are on their way home this morning... the soldiers were deployed to a missouri town... where severe flooding knocked out their water treatment plant. soldiers have spent the past six days purifying enough water for the entire town. now that mission is wrapping up... and they are all expected to return home by this evening. ice is expected to be a problem on des moines streets soon... that was the case last night... a man driving this truck lost control on interstate-235 and crashed into the ditch... the driver attempted to get back on the road but spun out and crashed into the cement barrier.... no one was
