you will want to bundle up good evening and thanks joining us.... i'm jodi whitworth. we haven't seen temperatures this cold all season. wind chills between 10 and 15 degrees below zero...and it will continue to get colder. meteorologist amber alexander joins us now with first look at the forecast. amber, how long can we expect this temperatures to last the cold is the big story this weekend, a wind chill advisory is in effect from midnight until 10am on sunday with wind chills nearing 20-30 below zero tonight. the clouds will clear out overnight tonight, so temperatures will stay bitterly cold on sunday. be sure to bundle up if you are headed out late tonight or early sunday morning as temperatures and wind chills are going to be dangerously cold. temperatures will rebound slightly on monday with highs expected to be in the middle 20s, but there is a slight chance of a few light snow showers late monday evening. another cold front will move through on tuesday, high temperatures will only reach the low teens. two of the three democratic

questions from iowans in des moines today. the "putting families first forum" saw both bernie sanders and martin o'malley make their sales pitches to voters, just three weeks before caucus night. channel 13's reid chandler has more. reid: the two trailing democratic candidates for president at the center of the stage today in des moines as hillary clinton is nowhere in sight. both candidates sought to at least "sound" like the front-runner, often lobbing attacks at donald trump. martin o'malley took the stage first this afternoon, and

ovation when he went after the donald. sot: vo: o'malley talked a lot about police brutality in america, saying he'd establish "citizen review boards" and cut the "militarization" f police departments. people in the crowd, including iowa caucus goers as well as residents of other mid-west states, liked o'malley and gave him plenty of applause. but the real love was for bernie sanders. the vermont senator received multiple standing ovations on his talking points, and especially riled up the crowd when talking about immigration reform. sot: bernie sanders: "nobody has ever asked me about my birth certificate - maybe it has to do with the color of my skin? . reid: without hillary clinton in attendance, both o'malley and sanders hoped to show these voters they deserve some attention as

there was even a group of protesters leading a "where is clinton" chant during the break between o'malley and sanders...that chant gained a lot of momentum and approval from the people within first christian church. sanders will host a townhall meeting tomorrow night on the dmacc campus in ankeny. all three candidates will speak at the iowa black and brown forum on monday -- discussing the issues surrounding the minority community several republican candidates are also making their rounds across the state this weekend. frontrunner donald trump held a rally in southeastern iowa, addressing the issue of isis. 081419 - any of the upper elementary, 4th and 5th grade. i like the older kids, they are sassy and sweet. i have a heart for them about 75 - perfect of those looking for jobs today are recent college graudates, like kaylee brugioni. before today's event... applicants had the chance to pre - register and apply for jobs. and once they arrived -- they went trough a brief interview process. the district plans to hire around 2 - hundred teachers for the upcoming school year. especially in the areas where they are consistently short staffed. 581019 - special education teachers are in short supply and thats true with des moines as well. we are also look espeiclaly for ell teachers something that has an english language and learner endorsement the district is also looking to hire more teachers of color. the hiring process will begin in the next month or so. if you missed today's event, you can still apply.
