thousand dollar one. i spoke to one of emmalee's best friends- who has known her since elementary school. she wasn't up to talking on camera today, but says the arrest brings those who knew and loved emmalee peace of mind that they desperately needed. marshall county deputies are still looking forr man they say led them on a high speed chase.. deputies were talking with 29-year old thomas sheets around three monday morning. they say after a short stand off, sheets took off in a camaro... deputies say during the pursuit, he lost control and slid off the road north-west of albion.... authorities searched more than three hours but did not find sheets. deputies say he was carrying a handgun... and is considered armed and dangerous. anyone with information on sheets should call police. ben carson is suspending his campaign for a second day after one of his staffers died after a

the statements that he made i wish hed been listening to someone other than his son when he was getting his information on ted cruzs positions and policy.' governor branstad made his comments yesterday after addressing a room of alternative energy supporters at the iowa renewable fuels summit. branstad's son eric has led a bi-partisan group of renewable fuels supporters who believe cruz's previous opposition to renewable energy puts him at odds with the interests of iowa's alternative fuel efforts. king said today, cruz supports renewable fuels and introduced a broader plan that would eliminate subsidies for petroleum and open up the e-p-a. king also said branstad's statements put the iowa caucuses at risk.... arrive in iowa... erika mccroskey catholic peace ministry 40:07 we started hearing some the more negative comments on refugees and folks newly arrived in iowa and thought that's not a neighborly or peaceful way greet new people and welcome them to iowa 40:20 members of catholic peace ministries and american friends service committee decided to collect hats and gloves for new refugees. they say it's a small gesture, but hope it brings about a larger conversation on the issue. the donations went to lutheran services of iowa... refugee service: john claes 44:50 these small acts of kindness are significant to refugees. many of them come from a troubled background, from a refugee camp, live in unsafe conditions for many years. many of them come with very little with them, maybe family if they bring them with them. any small gesture, hats and mitten, many of them were unprepared for the cold when they arrive here. 17:45:13

veterans... lieutenant governor, kim reynolds gave an update on the state's home base iowa initiative. it connects veterans with careers in iowa. so far, 36 communities have signed up to be part of the program... and more than ten others are in the works. reynolds says, since 20-13, the initiative has helped 17-hundred veterans find jobs... the goal, is more than 75-hundred. the adjutant general of the iowa national guard calls it a great program. 16:35 as a state, there isn;t anything better than we can go than to bring the men and women we care about the most back to the state to make a difference. they're drug free, physically fit, they've shown the leadership and demonstrated time and time against overseas and at home, that it's all about taking care of one another. 16:52 major general timothy orr also said it's important not to forget that there are also men and women serving in war right now, that also need our support. a local veteran says those services aren't enough.. he's launching a project that will offer something the veteran affairs hospital cannot. channel 13's

a drake university senior is starting out the spring semester... with a unique opportunity... "i will learn many things. i think the two way street of learning is why this opportunity was so interesting to me." she's moving in with other seniors... senior citizens that is... why the drake student is moving into a retirement center... and how it benefits everyone involved... here's the truth -- some have proposed to cut social security for the elderly and disabled vets. i disagree. in fact, not only should we not cut benefits -- we should expand them. my plan for social security increases benefits and cost of living adjustments and raises minimum payments for low-income seniors. it will ensure that all seniors can retire with dignity and respect.
