i-235 @ 22nd i-235 @ euclid first on 13... an iowa man is suing the organization that made him a multi-millionaire this morning. larry dawson won six million in cash thanks to one lucky lottery ticket... but now his attorneys say he's entitled to more.... they say it's because of this man -- eddie tipton. in november 2010, the former lotto security executive rigged the hot lotto game to get unearned winnings. the next year, dawson bought a ticket good for six million in cash. but his lawyers say it

now police say two others were also involved... 28-year-old eric mcdowell was arrested tuesday. authorities are still looking for 23-year old mariah dawson. anyone with information is asked to call newton police. waukee students are headed back to class this morning after a scare yesterday... the high school and two other schools had to be put on lockdown because of a report of shots fired nearby. police say it stemmed from a fight at the autumn ridge apartments. one person was injured in the fight. police say shots were fired but nobody was hit. soon after, police arrested three people. 18-year old william walls... 19-year old jejuan lyke and a 17-year old face charges including robbery and attempted murder. police have not released a photo of lyke. they're withholding the 17-year

des moines police are stepping in to cancel a metro meeting. 11:57:56 when you start advocating violence about anyone, you're definitely going to get our attention and it's something that we're going to continue to monitor the group "return of kings" is known for shaming victims of sexual assault. its leader is a blogger who has been described as "pro-rape". organizers were planning to meet here in des moines at the v-a this week, but after a warning call from police, they swiftly canceled. organizers announced the cancellation on their website last night. another meeting in cedar rapids has also been canceled. summer fun is the topic of discussion at the state house this week... lawmakers have moved a bill forward that would legalize the sale of fireworks in iowa. yesterday it passed a senate committee, after a long discussion. currently, iowans can only buy novelties like sparklers. this would allow them to buy full fireworks suck as firecrackers and roman candles.

senator bernie sanders up big. he has nearly double the support of hillary clinton heading into tuesday's primary. tonight sanders and clinton faceoff in the first debate since the caucus... msnbc's democratic debate gets underway in durham, new hampshire tonight. it will be moderated by meet the press' chuck todd and msnbc anchor rachel maddow. coverage begins at 8 p-m on msnbc. people in flint michigan are trying to hunt down the person responsible for contaminating their drinking water... "we're calling on the u.s. marshals to hunt him down and give him that subpoena. the u-s house oversight committee held a hearing on the contamination yesterday... but one of the people they wanted to talk with.. the state's emergency manager, wasn't there.... they say he was in power at the time flint's water was switched to the flint river. the move

town's water with high levels of lead. the former manager's attorney says he wasn't given enough time after the subpoena to make the hearing. a leaking underground storage tank is contaminating the soil and groundwater in nevada... the tank sits under the now closed dairy queen. the restaurant was once a gas station... but the tank was never removed. according to the ames tribune.. it is now leaking two toxic chemicals. tests showed one of the chemicals is six times higher than maximum allowable levels. the other was five times higher. both chemicals are known to cause cancer. but the homeowner living closest to the leak isn't concerned. jody posegate tells us the leak has only extended into a small portion of her driveway. she also says tests of her basement.. and drinking water were negative. the story county board of supervisors is working with the d-n-r on the problem.
