the department of justice was able to fix the quality of the video. the family says that their son was never holding a gun. there was a gun in the car. the family attorney is concerned about the officer that shot anderson and was involved in a fatal shooting in july of 2015. now the family wants that updated video to be released to the public. the family though is waiting for a decis attorney's office on that. the police department is holding off on releasing anything until a decision is made. >> tim, thank you. 6:09. it is supposed to be a safe space. this morning four teens are in the hospital after being shot at a school. >> helping you decide what to be

>> good morning. wisn 12 news time now is 6:13. we are watching breaking news on the roadways. it is a fatal wreck southbound 94. it happened before the racine county line. they have the freeway shutdown at ryan road. you see they are forcing the traffic off there. head to 27th street and that has an onramp. you can see there is a backup here at the exit. i will continue to keep an eye on it. that's a look at the morning commute, back to you. we have winds out of the northwest. sally: we are looking at west wednesdays to light north later on today.

ben: bring him on in here. sally: so long to the 60s. we get one more time before we fall back to the 50s and then reach to and 62 by sunday. but clouds are filling in for us this morning. quickly filling in. there are a couple of sprinkles across iowa. this is coming into a super parched atmosphere. very dry air and likely drying up a lot of the a couple of stray sprinkles are possible. 53 at the airport. cold air, most of it bottled well north to canada. the temperatures fall from the highs in the 60s. this is seasonal for this time of the year. so the clouds are really filling in quickly for us. today partly cloudy skies.

27th street and get on the freeway south of the crash site. you can take 13th street and there is a closure, and take oakwood over. we continue to monitor the delays. back to you. >> matt, thank you. we have a crew on the ground near the crash. >> thema is live on the scene right now, thema, what can you tell us? reporter: well, we are done h take a look, this is the interstate there. we are also seeing traffic picking up here on oakwood road as the people are taking detour. this crash happened near the racine milwaukee county line at 4:30. the medical examiner's office is saying it is a fatal crash. the sheriffs are investigating this.

the sheriffs office is saying that the closure will probably last until at least 8:00 this morning. we are continuing to follow this story for you and bringing you new information as soon it iss an available. >> thema, thank you. that is southbound i-94 south of oakwood there. a couple of hours before it reopens. we have posted the updates on the wisn 12 news ap out app before headed out the door, especially if you are headed in that direction. 6:32. let's start with the forecast. meteorologist sally severson is in the weather center? sally: sun is coming up at 7:10. fair skies and the cloudiness beginning to fill in. it is rolling in from iowa and minnesota. we look at light west winds for this morning.

for one more day and the clouds are returning this morning and afternoon but overall we a really nice stretch of october weather. the clouds are rolling in rapidly ahead of a cool front. later today, plenty in the way of morning sunshine. we get to 67 degrees, clouds filling in this morning. partly cloudy skies in store for us much of the afternoon. 50s and how long they are going to hang around coming >> sally, thank you. we have learned over night of two stolen vehicles. one crashed into a building and caused damage there. the driver was arrested.

earlier and it sped away and notified about the crash. no one was hurt. the car was stolen a week ago. around the same time a police chase on the freeway, and an s.u.v. crashed near highway 1 # 75 and lloyd street. the police were trying to stop the stolen vehicle t people inside ran away but arrested, bush behind our wisn 12 news crew. we are working to learn more about the incidents from overnight, we'll keep you posted as the details are coming in. ben? >> thank you, tim. ben: we begin with commitment 2016 coverage. today donald trump and hillary clinton face off at the final presidential debate. the university of nevada-las vegas is getting ready to host the debate. trump and clinton are preparing for some tough questions and choosing their guests.

to send a message to the other candidate. clinton has invited republicans who are crossing the aisle to endorse her like mark cuban and billionaire meg whitman. trump has invited president obama's half-brother, malik and patricia smith, whose son died in the benghazi attack. you can watch the final debate right here on wisn 12. it starts at 8:00 p.m. melinda: whichever candidate you're pulling for, there are watch parties going on tonight. hillary for wisconsin is hosting a three lions pub in shorewood. and the gop is holding two watch parties one at amelia's restaurant on layton and at the north shore victory center in bayside. melinda: donald trump's daughter is heading to the badger state tomorrow to campaign. ivanka trump will be in wauwatosa and eau claire. the tosa event starts at 12:30 at the crown plaza. ivanka's visit comes just three

>> city of brookfield denies a liquor license. total wine and more bills themselves as america's wine superstore. the first wisconsin location will open on november 10th. they wanted a class "b" liquor license which would allow them to host tastings and to serve customers in the store, but brookfield's common council will only grant them a class "a" license, the same as any liquor store. one reason, the council only has one "b" license available and they want to save f >> they don't want to give us a class b, we'll get started, but at the end of the day we are disappointed. >> it is important for us to attract economic development, that is the one area to expand the tax base. so i'm very pleased with the decision tonight. ben: the class "a" license means that total wine and more will only be able to serve two

that limits number of tastings the business can offer. wisn 12 news time now is 6:36. back now to the breaking news on the roads. >> fatal crash on i-94. matt? >> the accident reconstruction crews are on the scene and piecing together exactly what happened. the vehicle rolled over southbound along i-94 just before you head into county. the curvy stretch. we have seen them walking with a flash light and taking photos of the debris that flipped from the car as it rolled over. this is just south of oakwood and before the racine county line. the delays are starting south of rozzen. everyone is forced off at ryan road. you can jump off and head to 27th street and head down.

commute, back to you. melinda: new this morning, part of a road rage incident caught on camera. ben: now we're seeing this cell phone video recorded by a firefighter in florida. the firefighter says this man, paul peterman, was driving erratically and tried to attack him. he's the man in the white pickup. the firefighter then drove away. here it is one more time. later, peterman was found unconscious near his car. he later died. officials have not yet announced a cause of death. ben: also new this morning, a melinda: this is what it looked like after the explosion. this happened in newburgh, new york. police say there was an oxygen tank in the trunk of the car that exploded. one officer was hurt in that explosion. >> toxic mistake on a military base. >> contaminated water dumped into a city's sewer system. the risks it could pose for thousands of people this morning. >> plus, businesses across the

suspect was part of the islamic state. early this morning, police raided his apartment. officials say the suspect started firing at police who # returned fire and killed him. this all happened in ankara, turkey. turkish media reports that the man was planning a suicide attack in the city possibly during national ceremonies happening in the next few weeks. turkey has seen a rise in deadly suicide bombings in the past year many militants. ben, over to you. ben: right now, iraqi forces are continuing to march toward mosul in northern iraq. the country's second largest city has been occupied by isis for more than a year. iraq and kurdish forces are working to force isis out. according to the pentagon, more than 100 u.s. troops are embedded with iraqi forces. a spokesman says those americans are not on the front lines. melinda: new this morning,

contaminated water into colorado springs' sewer system. peterson air force base released 150,000 gallons of water that contained toxic chemicals. the full extent of the health hazards isn't yet known. but officials say the water contained pfcs which have been linked to prostate, kidney and testicular cancer, along with other illnesses. ben: new this morning, more problems for flint, michigan. this time it's not about the city's poisoned water. now the city's schools are facing a lawsuit. the aclu of michigan filed the lawsuit against flint school officials and the state. the aclu claims that students in flint don't receive standard development testing or eye and ear screenings. those screenings are required by federal and state law. >> wisn 12 news time now is

sally: not now. 70s yesterday. 60s today. we get back to the 50s for thursday and friday. some of the best weather of the year is in october, that is where we are headed. sunny and cool early this morning. a couple of extra clouds on deck, especially later in the morning and afternoon. put the kids in a jacket, you are going to need it early. later up to 67 degrees. but there is a coolro north and west. we are going to watch it. it is passing through today. with it a few clouds. the highs into the 50s. so, cool front just to the north and west. the clouds are really coming in fast. there is some moisture across iowa. that is a very light sprinkle. for the most part it is coming through dry for us.

earlier this month. a large part of miami beach is an active zika infection zone. several people were infected just last week within one square mile. as of yesterday, more than 1,000 people in florida have reported zika infections. most of them caught the virus outside of the u.s. but officials say 163 of those cases were contracted in the u.s. back to you. >> tim, thank melinda: new this morning, changes at a popular restaurant chain that you've probably visited at the mall. auntie anne's is being forced to rename its pretzel dog at stores in malaysia. islamic authorities told the company that the product is confusing some muslim customers who think it contains dog meat. to be clear, the pretzel dog does not contain dog meat. it appears that locations in the u.s. will not be renaming the item. >> new this morning, a veteran is taking on a new mission with the help of a metal detector. >> he's helping people find their lost wedding rings.

worldwide network of metal detectors called the ring finders. he accepts missions across the pacific northwest from couples who are looking for lost wedding rings. he's pulled them out of mulch beds, beaches, lakes even a rushing river. >> i had no hopes of getting the ring back again i thought ring in river gone, belongs to river yeah. > we lost our marbles and tackled him. ben: just like that couple, del's clients are always thrilled to get their rings back. >> i hope think gave him something. melinda: new this morning, the ruby slippers that helped dorothy make it home are looking a little shabby. so the smithsonian is asking you for help. they've started a kickstarter campaign raising money to restore the slippers.

the slippers were made almost 80 years ago by the prop department at mgm studios. wisn 12 news time now is 6:55. new this morning, picking up free flowers on your way to work! petal it forward is an effort happening today in communities across the country. we stopped by a local business that's taking part this morning. petals by felicia will be handing out flowers in racine. lucky recipients will get two flowers. one for themselves and one to give to someone else. the goal is simply to brighten loved ones. >> it's kind of the cure for all. when someone is ill, it lightens their face. you can just see their face lighten up when they receive it. or a lady that gets flowers from her husband that's not expected. just because and that's like the ultimate reason, just because. it just completely turns their day around and they're just so joyous behind it and grateful. melinda: the flower giveaway in
