dancing downtown. 22 degrees in milwaukee right now. look at the brisk wind. westerly at 16 miles per hour. this is the coldest windchill we have seen for the season so far. plus 8 that is all it is feeling like in the city. the bus stop forecast, it is a blustery one. a couple of snowflakes around. have the extra layers around. we'll see a high we look ahead to the weekend forecast. matt, you just got in and the snow is not sticking the the roads.>> it is swirling around and blowing around. it is not sticking at this point. we have light volume out there. that equals travel times all in the green. 10 # minutes eastbound. >> that's a look at the morning

melinda: thank you. we are following breaking news. tim: three murders reported in milwaukee overnight. two people were found dead near 107th and appleton. that's where hillary mintz is live with the latest. good morning, hillary. reporter: good morning, tim. we saw a large police presence, a large active investigation going on now. the police are focussing on a home there with a porch lights on. now the police say a man and woman found shot to death inside of a bedroom in one of the homes here. and after that discovery, they found two kids hiding in the same home. now this happened around 1:30 this morning. the neighbor heard the screams and gunshots and called 911. the children who were found were not hurt. how this happened, who is

under investigation at this time. and police have not said how everyone is related in this case. it is unclear if the man and woman that were found dead are the kids' parents. we expect to learn more information as the morning continues. for now live at 107th and appleton. "wisn 12 news this morning." >> hillary, thank you so much. >> also breaking overnight, a car crash and murder in a different milwaukee neighborhood. this is video from thurston. a man from out at state was shot and killed and crashed the car into a home after being shot. the police are now looking into how is responsible for the shooting. >> a man convicted in the death of five-year-old layla petterson will be sentenced. now the police say that the shooters were targeting a different home.

convicted of second degree reckless homicide. today we find out the sentencing. the prosecutors say that two other men were involved in the death. one of the men was sentenced to 65 years behind bars. >> today marks day 8 of wisconsin's presidential election recount. the state plans to finish by monday night. work is completed in 34 of the 72 counties, including washington and relatively few totals have changed. donald trump won wisconsin by 22,000 votes. meanwhile, michigan's recount is over. that is after a judge lifted the order that forced the review of millions of ballots effectively ended the recount. the mark said he had to follow a decision by the michigan appeals court and found that jill stien

single digits windchills. we also have flurry and snow showers dancing around, certainly a wintry look at feel. a quick burst of the snow. snowflakes right now falling in waukesha. 19 degrees there. the west breeze at 10-15 miles per hour. the forecast is looking like, what you see is what you get for the day. the temperature z hanging in the and the windchills. again, the snow is not sticking to the pavement, just blowing around out that. matt? >> not sticking on the freeways or the side streets. pavement appears to be dry. take it easy getting around. light volume across the freeway system. things are moving smoothly throughout the system.

>> thank you for joining us here on "wisn 12 news this morning." we scan the skies right now and a few snow showers and flurries working across southeast wisconsin. not noticing anything in the way of snow accumulation. what you are going to notice this morning the bitter cold windchills that settled in. single digits above you will want the warm gear on today. we are focussed on a chance of snow for the weekend, enough to shovel or plow and arctic blast of the cold air next week. we talk more about that in the 7-day forecast. now to roads with matt. reporter: nothing is sticking to the pavement. it is swirling around. we are looking good. the closure is picked up.

checking all of the vehicle ins the area for the device. >> scary moments at a high school in nevada. a student waving a knife here add shot by a school resource officer. that happened yesterday in reno. the 14-year-old student was threatening students with the knife. the teen refused to follow the orders and the officer fired. no other students were hurt. the victim is in criti >> happening now, a deep freeze and heavy snow is not stopping the protestor in north dakota. take a look at this. the chairman of the standing rock is calling for the protestor to leave the camp and no reason for the people to put their lives at risk. the protesters are sticking it out. the u.s. corps of engineers denied the final permit for the controversial pipeline.

now, we saw the cold settling in. a couple of snowflakes. how about accumulation? >> oh no, here it comes. >> this weekend could deliver a wallop of snow. you will need the shovels and the plows. we have cold windchills out there. there is a true chunk of air settling across the area by the middle of end of next week and the highs in the single digits of the teens. this morning clouds, flurry and a brisk westerly breeze swinging across the area. the snow showers not amounting to a whole lot. 22 degrees in milwaukee. factor in the wind, west at 16 miles per hour. it reveals windchills only in the single digits.

5 in kenosha. 3 watertown. plus 1 in janesville. now to the weekend snow chances. the weekend is starting dry. once we move into later saturday afternoon, if you are attending a holiday party, snow is developing from the west to the east and steady. overspreading southern wisconsin and continues to the ending between mid night and 3:00 a.m. a second chunk coming in on sunday night into monday and we are hesitant to put the snow totals on this, if both hit us, we are having much more snow, if just the first piece, the it is a couple inches up to 3, 4 across southeast wisconsin. we are continuing to watch that. how about this, next weeks,
