"well with casualty losses, that will have to exceed 10 percent of your agi, that's your income for the year to be able to deduct that and also you will have to have some tax liability. what it will do is reduce your tax liability, it's not like a credit." if you choose to file a casualty loss for your 2015 return -- the deadline is april 15. those hoping to get fema assistance after this year's floods have one extra day to apply for it. the deadline to register has been extended to next monday january 4th. 24 south carolina counties are eligible. you can start the application process online at disaster assistance dot gov. or by calling fema's hotline at 1-800-621-- fema. while many people are counting down to the new year, tiger fans are counting

"i hope that it's not going to be four versus three. i hope that the city council can work together as a unified body. we need to have discussion. we won't agree on everything, but i think if we can discuss things before they come to the city council vote, we'll be able to work out some of those differences, so we'll have a more unified council." the newlylylected members along ith

dollars u-s-o south carolina the money will go towards hosting events for troops throughout the holiday season. palmetto state religious leaders are calling south carolinians to learn more about their neighbors faith. today -- governor nikki haley proclaimed january "interfaith harmony month." interfaith partners of south carolina read the proclamation with representatives of christianity, judaism, islam, hinduism, sikhism and several other faiths. "members of interfaith partners of south carolina are distressed and deeply saddened to hear so many of our country's citizens and political leaders and candidates espouse retaliation to our muslim colleagues, friends and neighbors for the actions of a small group who wrongly claim that islam justifies their actions." the presentation also included a list of islamic leaders denouncing the actions of isis and other terrorist organizations. the group said they were including the list to show the islamic state doesn't represent islam as a

it was scary watching all that water now, with a flood warning in place beginning saturday for the mississippi river... already, crews are busy at work clearing storm drains and prepping for the possibility of flooding right here in memphis.
