lake wateree. residents tell me they hadn't seen anything like this since hurricane hugo. and duke energy is using that comparison too, because the national weather service says duke measured the lake level at a little over 105 feet today, which is the highest level lake wateree has been since early october 1989, when runoff from rain produced by hugo pushed the lake level to just shy of 107 feet. full pool level is 100 feet and the target is 95 feet. right now, water from the lake current conditions and projections, lake wateree will spill for several more days. duke energy says it is working with local emergency officials to monitor the situation. officials are asking anyone within the area to be on alert and pay attention to
conditions. closed by flooding. kings creek road off of highway 121 was one place where the barricades stayed up today. sheriff lee foster says some roads will have to be closely looked at for permanent damage, even sinkholes. the case is much the same in lexington county. several neighborhoods downstream from lake murray are feeling the impact... again the water is close to several homes that were already damaged by october's floods. some of the homes on carinbrook drive are no longer inhabitable. a creek behind the homes feeds off lake murray. sce&g opened emergency spill gates yesterday --- as more water flowed down from the upstate. that in turn caused more water to flow downstream winding up in people's

honor in june 2014 for his actions to save marines from an explosion in afghanistan. bowers says carpenter is grateful no one was seriously hurt and looks forward to working with young people---quote---"to make sure they stand up for what is right and take responsibility for their actions just as he has done." the investigation into a drowning on lake wateree continues at this hour. 68-year-old thomas brinson of ridgeway drowned this morning this morning off blackgum lane in kershaw county. the county coroner says brinson was going down into the lake to try and get a well cover that had fallen in the water. when his wife came outside she couldn't find him. brett parker will stay in prison. he's the man convicted in a double murder at the ascot estates in irmo. wis has learned the state appeals court has rejected parker's appeal of his conviction. in 2013 parker was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison for the killings of his wife tammy jo and business partner bryan capnerhurst. parker claimed the judge made
