bit breezy this morning, few high clouds by afternoon, highs near or slightly above 50 tonight, clear, lows upper 20s. turning windy tuesday ahead of a cold front moving through, for the most part my thinking is it will be in the middle 50s but will fall behind the front. mostly sunny wednesday and cold. highs middle 40s, overnight lows in the lower to middle 20s. keeping an eye on our next storm system that alabama for the chance to become national champions. it's been an incredible season for both teams, clemson is 14 and 0 and alabama has one loss on the season. our michal higdon is in arizona

everyone is getting set up here in glendale. there's a ton of media but there's tens of thousands of fans as well. and the energy is contagious as we get closer to kick-off. for the first time since 1981, clemson leads the nation in total victories for the season that was also the last year they went to the national title game and won. spectators say this game is going to come down to clemson's offense and alabama's defense. clemson's quarterback deshaun watson has nearly 34-hundred yards passing and over one- thousand yards rushing. but if you look at alabama's secondary they have forced 21 turnovers, 16 interceptions and 5 fumbles in the past 11 games. both teams say the key is focus going into this game and performing at their best. but the real treat is having a stadium filled with tens of thousands of fans cheering you on. fans, no matter what color they're wearing, say the energy is like none they've ever experienced.

whenever they travel to bowl games is to make an impact on the local area. they did just that. helping set tables, getting food ready to serve, cleaning up trash and more. bubba britton/clemson alumnus: "you see these volunteers who are giving, as you mentioned, their vacation time, their time with friends and family here in the phoenix area and they're giving that to do something for a fellow person, their fellow man." by donating their time, the group was able to serve and feed dozens of homeless people in the phoenix area. we'll have coverage all day leading up to the big game tonight. later tonight, don't forget to tune in to watch our special coverage -- "chasing a championship." it starts at 7:30 -- right here on wis. clemson versus alabama starts at 8:30 on espn. one of the state's biggest tiger fans will not be able to make it to the game in arizona because she'll be preparing to take the national stage. governor nikki haley will be in the spotlight tomorrow night. she will be in washington with the republican party's reaction to president obama's state of the union address.

sworn in at a ceremony going on right now, following the legacy of longtime mayor joe riley. joe riley has been the mayor for four decades. tecklenburg beat out five candidates in a general election. earlier he said he's been preparing to make this historic passing of powers, as seamless as possible. construction on a newberry bridge is expected to begin, and last more than a year. starting today, the college street bridge is under construction. that means the road between caldwell street and tench strt will be blocked. a contractor is replacing the bridge that crosses scott's creek. there's a detour from college to speers street to nance to harrington street and back to college. the road will be closed until may of next year. there's no update yet on whether parts of the cayce riverwalk will reopen today as originally hoped. cayce leaders had said they hoped to have three of the four phases back open by today, but some wet weather over the weekend may have impacted those plans. the riverwalk park has been closed again since the latest round of wet weather caused flooding in late december. it's been closed at least four times since last august. feeling brisk today.

looking for them for the last 23 years. that's how long ronald johnson says it's been. johnson was serving in the u-s army on deployment when he says his first wife took his two children to germany and refused contact. that was back in 1992. johnson says he tried going through the german government but got no help from it or the u-s army. in the end he says facebook was the difference maker. he created a profile and by posting pictures he finally made contact with his daughter kelly johnson.
