as we've said, haley won't be rebutting the president. she said last week that's not something she would want to do---but rather talk opportunities. she and her advisors are crafting this "address" as she puts it---not repeating talking points offered by the national republican party. and while we don't know exactly what the governor will say, she has indicated hers will be remarks with an optimistic tone. many pundits have pointed out haley has all the attributes the gop wants to claim in its leadership. diversity, youth, appeal to wowon---and a proven record of economic success. haley can lay claim to lower unemployment, job creation---but she also lines up with conservative views on immigration, syrian refugees---despite being the daughter of immigrants----gun control, shutting down guantanamo and transferring detainees to prisons here----and black lives matter. is this an introduction to the nation for a potential

chair and greg pearce to serve as vice chair for 2016. the chair and vice chair of richland county council maintain order during council meetings, decide what items make it onto agendas and represent council at public functions. rush represents district 7 and pearce, first elected to council in 1999, represents district 6. we're tracking a warning tonight that cold medicine sold across the country could come with the danger of an overdose. the perrigo company is recalling five combined batches of its cherry and grape "guaifenesin dm" medicine. some packages have the wrong dosage markings on their measuring cups and should be thrown away. the medicine is sold in 4 oz bottles and can be found at local drug stores.

delivering the ultimate prize back to tiger town. alabama defeated clemson 45-40 in the title game. still... what a great year for the tigers who set a program record for wins a season with 14. unfortunately, all the success... cannot ease the pain of their biggest dream being buried in the desert by the crimson tide. however, the pain doesn't erase the the players love for one another. renfrow: "pretty disappointing but it was fun. hopefully represented clemson well. we'll just remember the fun we had. loving on our teammates." watson: "wanted to get the win and do something that hasn't been done in 34 years. at the end of the day.y. i love my teammates... their sights on another national championship game appearance.

the jackpot for tomorrow night's powerball lottery drawing now sits at a record 1.5 billion dollars and the rush to get those final tickets the south carolina education lottery say it sold an unprecedented 22-million dollars worth of tickets last week. and of course, that number's expected to rise as sales continue through tomorrow. "it means basically that 43 cents of all the powerball sales that we have will go to education. that quite frankly can mean anywhere from 5 to 8 million dollars more for education in our state." the lottery commission says those funds will benefit things like college scholarships, school buses and technology for public libraries. nothing or no one can handle the billion dollar powerball jackpot! the jackpot is usually displayed

championship night in the desert... ended in disappointment. yesterday... the clemson tigers fell to alabama in the national championship game in glendale arizona. even in defeat... soso tigers players put on a show worth remembering for years to come. sports director rick henry explains. clemson comes up short on the scoreboard losing the national championship game to alabama 45-40...but some of the tigers delivered some prime time performances. we'll start with quarterback deshaun watson. he passes for 4o5 yards and four touchdowns. watson also has some dazzling runs to pick up 73 yards on the ground. he makes fbs history by becoming the first player with over four thousand passing yards and one thousand yards rushing in the same season. the gamecocks men's hoops team is in the midst of a dream season. carolina's 15-0... and ranks 15th in the coaches game time set for 9pm. gamecocks head coach frank martin's enjoyed the ride of building this program to where it is today. a journey which began in 2012. martin: "their growth. their committment to one another. their belief in what we do. when you start seeing something that wasn't like that start taking shape in that direction makes it a whole lot of fun to be around."
