7:04 am
referring to nehlen as a "desperate candidate" who wanted "attention." ryan says he believes he won because of running a positive campaign. "i am a local guy. people know who i am, they know what i believe in and they know i mean what i say and i say what i mean and i don't do it in a mean way. and i think that's the kind of politics, that's the kind of policies that wisconsinites, republicans reward. that's why i think i won." ryan will face democrat ryan solen, an iraq war veteran, in the november 8th general election. wisconsin senate race the primary was an easy victory for democrat russ feingold... facing newcomer scott harbach. it was a landslide with feingold getting 90-percent of the vote. during a campaign stop in racine hours before the polls closed... feingold didnt even seem phased by the primary. instead, he was focusing on his november rematch against incumbent ron johnson. feingold served as a u-s senator from 19-93 until 20-11.... but lost to johnson in the 20-10 election. told supporters he will fight
7:05 am
rf 'senator johnson has consistently voted against the interests of working families and middle class families. people know i will support increases to minimum wage; making sure people get family leave when they have a child; and we have to bring down the cost of prescription drugs.' incumbent senator ron johnson did not have a republican challenger in this primary. tuesday night, supporters gathered at the waukesha county republican office. the senator rallied his supporters calling his democratic who is making promises he can't keep. 59:37 senator feingold who, let's face it is a 34 year career politician doesn't know a whole lot of about the private sector. so he doesn't know a whole lot about jobs, growing the economy, but he knows how to grow government. now on to the state senate race --- where lena taylor will get four more years in madison. after a heated primary, the 4th district incumbent knocks off challenger state representative mandela barnes with 61-percent
7:06 am
year career taylor has faced a primary opponent. taylor says the win did not come easy. literally i hurt my ankle. i hurt my hand, my voice went out, we had problems with th air conditioner in the campaign office. it was just hinge after thing. challenge after challenge. but in the end despite all of the the people spoke. and they worked. there is no republican cal the state senator is all but ensured of keeping her seat. and in the democratic race for milwaukee county district attorney... incumbent d-a john chisholm defeating challenger verona swanigan.. chisholm was first elected to d-a in 2006. and yesterday, he won by an almost 2- to-one margin. we've posted all of the final results from the races on our website. just head to fox6 now dot com or the fox6 news app. another off-script moment from donald trump is generating headlines this morning, and his critics think

opponent, hillary clinton. either way, it's a distraction for trump who's been trying to show more discipline on the campaign trail. fox's doug luzader has reaction to the controversy. donald trump deviated from his prepared remarks at a rally -- and depending on who's listening, this was either a joke, a reference to political activism, or a call to violence. pkg in some ways -- it was classic trump -- going after hillary clinton. pick her judges -- nothing you can do, folks. although the second amendment people maybe there is, i don't know. but i will tell you what, that will be a horrible day. was the second amendment reference a suggestion for gun owners to take matters into their own hands? the clinton campaign said absolutely --- and began to fundraise off of those comments... saying it was more evidence that trump isn't qualified. kaine: nobody who is

position especially the presidency, the leadership of the country should do anything to countenance violence and that's what he was saying. trump says it was just a call for gun rights advocates to organize politically. trump: 00:13:14 there can be no other interpretation. even reporters have told me, i mean give me a break. but they're dishonest people. but the worst part for trump may have been the missed opportunities -- on a day when clinton was facing new americans who were killed in the benghazi libya attacks... and new scrutiny after the father of the gunman behind the orlando pulse nightclub attacks was seated directly behind her at a campaign event. all of it left many republicans shaking their heads. perino: "it was his careless decision to go off script and try to make a funny which really wasn't funny, at all, and the carelessness adds to how hillary clinton is trying to define him as reckless and careless."
