a group in new hampshire is putting the most popular app in the world to good use. it's collecting food for the hungry -- by using the "pokemon go" app. it started as a facebook group -- asking players to bring canned food or cash whenever they would meet up to catch pokemon with the app. they've hosted 2 events so far -- and already collected hundreds of canned foods. the group -- called poke aid, then hands out that food to people in need.the motto is "gotta help em all" -- which is the original pokemon line "gotta catch em all." the idea of paying it forward with pokemon is now spreading -- with new groups forming across new hampshire and even in connecticut. chipotle is trying a new tactic. it's offering discounted or free alcoholic beverages as part of a new happy hour promotion in certain markets across the midwest. they'll have two-for-one beers every thursday from four to eight. this comes as chipotle tries to win back customers after multiple foodborne-illness outbreaks last year.

it as an egregious crime - then 25-year- old marquis johnson picking up a young girl near 17th and highland and running off. the girl is able to break free a short distance away. i'm messed up right now. when it happened, fox 6 talked to tabitha bridges, who was relieved her daughter, andrea, was able to get away. i kicked out his arms and then i ran to my mama, crying and screaming. johnson's grandmother told fox 6 that johnson said he took the girl because he thought she was his. we questioned him and he said he gonna take the little girl because its his da her. actually, johnson has no connection to the girl. in court wednesday, the prosecutor says when johnson stood in a police line-up, he did something else that was disturbing. the defendant took it upon , in this hyper - secure setting, to drop his pants and expose his genitals; the twoine-up saw this. johnson's lawyer says the man is no threat to society - as long as he's on his

harm anyone. he has no control over his impulses when hes unmedicated; i think the doctors are very clear about that. but citing johnson's history of not taking his medicine, the judge hands down the maximum sentence in this case - a commitment of 25 years in a state mental health facility. in milwaukee, a.j. bayatpour, fox 6 news. as part of his sentence, johnson will also have to register as a sex offender. milwaukee police have identified the victim of a homicide on the city's north west side. officials say 25-year-old dorian crawford was shot yesterday morning near 50th and clarke. a family member took him to the hospital where he later died. police continue to investigate. milwaukee police also identifying the victims of a double homicide. officials say 44-year-old billy hill was shot and 25-year-old bennie bennett was stabbed. it happened yesterday morning near 36th and congress. police are still looking for

protest turned into anything but in ferguson last night. you can see here, a protestor in the middle of the street was hit by a car and moments later -- gunfire erupted at the scene of a michael brown commemoration. witnesses say after the speeding car hit the protestor -- others tried to stop the car as it turned around and tried to get away. that's when someone pulled out a gun and shot at the car -- no one was injured. a city spokesman says the female driver is cooperating with police and did not intentionally hit the demonstrator. a justice department investigation into the baltimore police reveals some unconstitutional practices. a report obtained by c-n-n shows disproportionate rates of stopping, searching and arresting african- americans. one man was reportedly stopped 30 times in five years without a single arrest. they also found a pattern of excessive force against juveniles and the mentally impaired. the d-o-j was asked to monitor baltimore's policing methods for more than a year after the 20-15

the tuition freeze to be lifted. fox 6's kim murphy has more on the proposal, it's new at four. u-w oshkosh is one of 13 four-year universities in the u-w system. "there's only so far we can go before we really start to compromise the quality that our students experience and that they've come to expect." and uw-oshkosh chancellor, andrew leavitt lev-it says each university is struggling with budget cuts and a tuition freeze.lawmakers say the freeze started with the 2013-2015 budget. the freeze was then extended in the 2015-2017 budget, and 250-million system. "the impact of the budget reductions is in full force right now. by the end of this year we would have reduced 140 positions, which is about 10% of our workforce." republican representative dave murphy says giving students a bang for their buck is the priority. "we have to keep costs down. we need to provide people value." but uw system leaders say cutting those costs and freezing tuition harms the resources available to students. leavitt says uw oshkosh lost 7-and- a-half million dollars of funding. "if the uw's budget was fully funded, this would be great

academic support systems that have been depleted because of the budget cuts." "they're going to have to understand that in the future, theyre going to have to work on keeping their budget increases, at or below the rate of inflation if were going to give students the kind of value they deserve." and how do the cuts affect prospective students? mph a new study says millions of americans may be exposed to unsafe drinking water. chemicals from everyday products could be the cause. our mary stoker smith joins us with more a new harvard study found unsafe levels of industrial chemicals in water samples across the country. those specific chemicals are actually more common than you probably think. they're used to make things like food

wisconsin state fair is home to some unique and unusual foods. but every year - level, and this year is no exception. with it being the fair's fourth annual "sporkies food competition" -- eight out of 26 entries were tasted by a panel of judges today -- until only the top three remained. and those were -- the deep fried old fashioned taking third place, klement's famous racing sausage corn dog came in second... and the winner was sprecher's "everything root beer float cake". fox six's angelica duria helped judge the

spicy where it would be really terrific if you had a large glass of wisconsin milk to pair with it? oh, that would be amazing." a fourth golden spork award was given to the favorite food of fairgoers who voted on social media. that award also being given to the second place winner -- the racing sausage corn dog. and for that first place sprecher winner? over a dozen feet of bragging rights! .a 13-foot "spork trophy". good evening. we are following breaking news at 5-- after a large industrial fire erupts in franklin this afternoon. no one was injured... but crews remain on the scene six hours later. fox6's madeline anderosn is live

flames. the fire started in this building behind me owned by s and c electric company. i'm told crews will be out here for probably another half hour. they're currently still assessing the situation as it relates to air quality and safety issues. you'll see though... it appears as though the actual fire is out at this time. take a look at video we shot earlier today. a large cloud of black smoke pours out of one side of the responding to the scene. all employees were evacuated.and no one was hurt. on it's website... s and c says it is a chicago based company that designs and manufactures switching and protection products for electric power transmission and distribution. again... we're expected to learn more information once fire fighters clear the scene in about a half hour. reporting live in franklin.. madeline anderson
