according to the criminal complaint...48-year old gilberto gil-bear-toe collado co-ya-doe walked up to this information counter inside city hall with a bag... and told a worker he had recently been arrested for a d-u-i and that he is a former city employee. the milwaukee police department confirms collado is in fact a former m- p-d officer. while he was speaking to the worker, milwaukee mayor tom barrett walked by with his security detail.the worker tells investigators co they try anything, ill beat with a gun. i have a gun in my bag' in reference to the mayor and his security. collado allegedly said he was leaving... but told the worker hed be back. bl 'investigators say they found the suspect a short time later, outside the chase bank near the corner of wisconsin and water about two blocks away from city hall.' officers confiscated collados bag... inside there was no gun. but this former cop was allegedly carrying a

inside the bag... police say they found a clear plastic sandwich bag containing an 'off-white chunky substance.' investigators say the substance tested positive for cocaine... weighing point-24 grams. online court records show collado pleaded 'not guilty' during his initial appearance saturday and was released on a 500-dollar signature bond. when we stopped by his house monday... nat 'door knock' one answered the door but loud music was coming from inside. collado faces charges of disorderly couc cocaine. the milwaukee county district attorneys office had 'no comment' about this case. a spokeswoman for the mayor did not return our calls. he is ordered to have no contact with city hall... controlled substances... or weapons. reporting live outside city hall, bl, fox6 news. mary thanks bret a scary situation inside a walgreen's on the city's north side. this afternoon -- someone fired

north. it happened around 1-15. police say no one was hurt-- the shooter fired into the ground. but he or she is not in custody. new information now about the officer-involved shooting that prompted unrest in milwaukee. tonight we've learned two body cameras captured the incident. but it could be a while before we see either video-- stephanie grady joins us in studio with more. wisconsin attorney general brad schimel held a news conference he says it could be weeks if not months before the body camera video is released. he's worried the evidence on those recordings could harm the investigation if it's made public too soon. sylville smith was fatally shot near 44th and auer a week ago saturday. authorities have said smith was fleeing police and that footage from the officer's body camera clearly shows smith holding a handgun. but schimel says that footage is just a small part of the investigation. his team is also interviewing witnesses-- and reviewing evidence

body camera videos will not answer all of your questions. your questions will be better answered when the videos are viewed in the context of all the information that is gathered in the investigation. schimel says there is no timeline to finish the investigation. but he expects a decision on charges to come faster than it did in the dontre hamilton case. that took about six months. schimel also confirms some of the state investigators on this ca see that as a conflict of interest because there's no direct relationship to the officers involved. in response to schimel's remarks-- the a-c-l-u of wisconsin says many questions remain unanswered. to take another look at the arson suspect or to hear more from attorney general schimel-- visit our website at fox 6 now dot com. a death investigation underway in shorewood -- after a suspect dies at the police station. police say the 39-year-old man was arrested overnight for a domestic violence case. just after four this morning -- the man was found unresponsive in his cell. he later died at the hospital. the greenfield police department will be handling the investigation we're getting a closer look at the destruction caused by an apartment fire in sheboygan over the weekend. one person died-- dozens others were left homeless. today inspectors let a few tenants get back inside and salvage whatever they could-- but some units are just too badly damaged. the state fire marshal is still trying to figure out how the fire started. they have not released any details about the person found dead inside. its a little surreal feels like

and see the damage and the devastation tomorrow the red cross will partner with other charitable organizations to create a "one stop shop" at farnsworth middle school to help the victims of the fire get back on their feet. four suspected overdose deaths over the weekend are likely linked to a growing fentanyl problem in our city. fentanyl is a pain medication heroin. and according to the medical examiner's office -- milwaukee county is on track to see twice as many fentanyl related deaths this year than last. this weekend's victims range in age from 26 to 43. exceeded motor vehicle accidents as the leading cause of accidental deaths in the united states. over the weekend-- police found former guitarist and founding member of the band "3 doors down" dead at a west bend hotel. family suspects matt roberts may have overdosed. he was in town to play a benefit concert with a local band. fox6 spoke with a member of the band roberts was set to play with, known as "the nix." he says hours before roberts was found dead-- they were talked for quite some time. it was the feeling of hey, there's a rock star in my basement. butted with it was like i made a really good friend and he was just taken away. roberts' dad tells us he doesn't know how his son died but says he suffered from anxiety his whole life and struggled with crowds-- always waiting until the last minute to head on stage. his toxicology results could take months. hard to complain about a day

anchor thanks jenna a 17-year-old boy is arrested after leading police on a dangerous pursuit overnight. police say he was driving a stolen van-- and when they tried to pull him over he took off. they say he ran several red lights-- crashed into another car and eventually hit a tree near 84th and carmen in milwaukee.

ending to a horrible story. a young kitten trapped in a drain is saved thanks to first responders-- and a plumber. say the little kitten was flushed down the toilet by a 4-year-old boy. crews found the kitten a few feet down -- just below a turn in the drain pipe. it took two hours -- and a lot of cutting -- but eventually the little guy was freed.
