yellow on traffic map = some delays green on traffic map = no delays breaking news ---- a new earthquake rattles myanmar this morning. the six point eight quake was felt several hundred miles away in thailand's capital, bangkok. so for no word on damage or injuries. this all happening after a powerful earthquake strikes italy overnight -- killing dozens. angelica is in studio the with details. officials are saying at least 38 people have been killed.

italy around 3-30 this morning local time. the quake was so strong that it's tremors were felt all the way in rome -- which is about 100-miles away. the initial quake was followed by a five- point-five magnitude aftershock about an hour later. the mayor of amatrice ah-mah-tree'-cheh says his town is completely gone.this morning -- search and rescue efforts are underway. weather expert rob haswell joins us now with more on where these earthquakes are located and how

after a hit and run crash it happened on milwaukee's north

latest the 11 year old girl is at children's hospital... she was hit by a car at the intersection of 27th and burleigh... the crash happened at 7:30 pm. we're told it was a car versus bicycle accident. police say their initial investigation shows the child was attempting to cross the street when she was hit the car fled from the scene. the child was taken to the hospital. at this point we don't have a description of the car no suspects are in custody reporti deandra corinthios fox6 news also new from overnight - milwaukee police... respond to a shooting near 44th and auer. that's the same intersection where sylville smith was fatally shot nearly two weeks ago. milwaukee police say they responded to a shooting around 10 last night. they don't know what led up to the shooting - but a 19 year old man was reportedly sitting in a car... when someone fired several times into the vehicle. the victim was taken to a hospital by a friend... suffering from a very serious gunshot wound.

kenosha police are investigating a shooting as well. we're told the person was shot in the leg... and taken to a hospital for treatment. no word yet on the age or gender of the victim. we're waiting to hear if any arrests were made. a young boy dies after his head became stuck in a window. it appears the boy may have tried to climb out a window and became trapped. i think he was trying to come out feet first, and the window fell down on his neck, and he was neighbors say the boy may have been stuck for thirty minutes before he was found. family members say this is the little boy's grandmothers house, but that no adults were home at the time. we're told teenagers were supposed to be watching him. neighbors rushed to help when they heard screams, and began c-p-r before paramedics took over. police continue to investigate what happened. a traffic alert if you plan on driving around the marquette campus/ it's move in day for students! it's all getting underway right

people have been killed -- and dozens others are injured. the earthquake hit the central part of the country around 3-30 local time. the mayor of amatrice ah-mah-tree'-cheh -- one of the hardest hit areas -- says his town is completely gone.the tremors from the six-point-two magnitude quake were even felt in rome -- that's about 100-miles away. the region is the same one that experienced a devastating earthquake back in - one left more than 300 people dead. milwaukee police investigating a hit and run that has a little girl fighting for her life this morning. it happened at 27th and burleigh deandra corinthios is live from m-p-d's district 5 with the latest milwaukee police say the 11 year old girl was hit by a car when she was trying to cross the street. she is now in critical condition. milwaukee police were called to

burleigh around 7:30 p-m tuesday night. we're told this was a car versus bike accident. police say the victim was crossing the street when a car hit her ...then took off. the victim was taken to children's hospital ..where again...she is in critical condition. police are looking for the driver. we're working on getting a description of the car. reporting live from milwaukee police district 5, deandra corinthios, fox6 news. two brothers in sheboygan are facing charges after they are accused of sexually assaulting a wom taken to a park area and being assaulted by individuals in the back seat of that car.' clemente and julio rojas face 'second degree sexual assault charges.' prosecutors say the men offered a 21- year old woman a ride to see her probation officer, but when she got in the car, they took her to two liquor stores and got her drunk. investigators believe the woman was already high or intoxicated when

assaulted the woman. she was able to give investigators descriptions of both suspects in large part due to their face tattoos. nh 'its clear this was a non-consensual activity where i believe they fed her some alcohol to increase her level of intoxication or impairment.' prosecutors also say the girlfriend of one of the brothers was set to give birth to their child the day this incident allegedly occurred. now the latest on a new public safety action plan for h lets start the conversation, and then lets take the evidence, lets take the data, and make adjustments based on what resources we have. the proposal calls for adding 280 new officers and improving police and community relations.... as well as outlines ways to bolster

dispatch center staffing and increase salaries. the plan also looks to consolidate police and fire department dispatch centers. it was released on the same day recruitment was taking place in an effort to hire 35 new 9-1-1 operators. police could not speak to specifics of the plan-- but would say a strong dispatch center is critical to public safety. i can guarantee you, every person working in here has probably helped save somebodys life. people can still apply for 9-1-1 operators positions through august 29- flynn commented in a statement about the safety plan saying-- the department looks forward to future conversations with the council. dozens of local red cross workers have been deployed to louisiana for flooding.. others are in california for the wildfires but two floods here in wisconsin... a large apartment fire in sheboygan... is stressing the organization. krystle kacner has their plea for help. forced from their homes in louisiana by dangerous flood

the streets. some tried to save what they could... a lot the streets were filled with sofas tvs...clothings, really all of their personal belongings. amber finley not only saw these situations play out in real life... she met the people living them.. a little girl came up to me and she noticed my red cross t-shirt and she asked for help that she knew because i had my red cross t-shirt on that i could help her, its just incredibly moving finley is one of more than 40 called from southeastern wisconsin to help down south. others... were called to california.. to help with wild fires there. but thanks to the unpredictable nature of mother nature... volunteers don't have to stray far from home to answer a call..... the 3 disasters weve had here, the 2 floods as well as the fire, those are going to cost the wisconsin region 10 thousand dollars for each event not to mention-- the 'man-power'. the apartment fire in sheboygan
