35:17 the community will pull together, pray together, remember her life and ministry and all the many thousands of lives that shes touched through her life of care. thats what well remember and thats what well be celebrating. the school sisters of st. francis are in the process of planning a mass for sister margaret and a funeral service--that will be open to the public. meantime, the investigation into the double homicide is on-going. live on the south side, ashley sears fox 6 news. now to our big story. a local soldier -- killed in combat. an army green beret who grew up in wisconsin was killed in action in afghanistan. we've learned he graduated from brookfield central high school. that's where fox six's rachelle baillon is live there with the

good evening. u-s army staff sgt. matthew thompson graduated from brookfield central in 2006, where he was the captain of the football team and played trombone in school ensembles. theyll be having a moment of silence at tonights football game to honor his sacrifice. before u-s army staff sgt. matthew thompson was a bronze star medal winner, before he was a special forces medical sergeant, and before he even enlisted in the u-s army, he was a much-lo marquette university. 'i cant think of anyone that was as committed to living the best version of their life possible, every day. he was a remarkable human being and he will never be replaced.' the university tells us thompson attended the school from the fall of 2006 until the spring of 2008. manning says thompson then transferred to concordia university in california. he graduated in 2010 and joined the army in march 2011. thompson died on tuesday from wounds he suffered

in afghanistan. in a statement, the commander of special operations task force-afghanistan said thompson was ' an exceptional green beret, a cherished teammate and devoted husband. his service in afghanistan and iraq speak to his level of dedication, courage and commitment to something greater than himself'. lt. col. kevin m. trujillo, commander of special operations task force-afghanistan those who knew him well, say thompson was one of a kind. 'he was just so positive and just so happy with everything that he was irresistible you just wanted to join in.' both of thompsons former universities issued statements offering their prayers to his family. the elmbrook school district also issued a statement, saying ' we offer our deepest condolences to matthews wife, parents and sisters, as well as our sincere gratitude for his service to our country.' reporting live tonight at brookfield central high school, rachelle baillon fox6 news. brad thanks rachelle

marquette and elmbrook on our website-- fox6 now dot com and the fox6 news app. we also posted a link for information to the u-s army's special forces. just search "green beret." a waiting game in manitowoc county -- and it looks as though that wait will continue... the courthouse has closed for the day-- without new motions being filed by the attorney for steven avery. kathleen zellner says the motion would retest d-n-a evidence in the avery case and possibly present an alternate theory on who killed theresa month averys nephew brendan dasseys case was overturned after a judge determined the then 16 year olds confession should not stand. avery supporters have a good feeling about this one... lisa says: "i think she's going to definitely get steven out. i've been following her. zellner has until monday to file the motion. police are still searching for the suspects involved in four armed

side-- and police believe they could be connected. police three women were robbed at gunpoint near u-w-m. an hour after that -- a woman was threatened with a knife near humboldt and pleasant. the third happened minutes later near water and brady. and then around 4 a-m-- a man was robbed at gunpoint on cass street near lyon. police say all the victims were in their twenties. "weve been here 70 years thank the good lord that business has been great for us, neighborhood has been beautiful, im sorry to hear happening all over the city." police say they believe due to the proximity and witness descriptions, the robberies are related. they continue to search for a suspect. the three men charged in connection to a burglary during the milwaukee unrest --- appear in court today. "joseph lindsey" and "devon love" both faces charges for "entering a locked building." the third man -- 45-year-old "durrell jones" was in court for his preliminary

were busted inside clark's beer and liquor during the unrest. all three men entered a not-guilty plea. "they were, all the officers by the... it was a broken window as the entry point. they were ordering actors inside the business to come out. how many people did you see come out? four." police say that fourth person arrested was a juvenile. all three adults are expected back in court next month. shooting almost two weeks ago served as a spark for the unrest in milwaukee's sherman park neighborhood. tomorrow-- the funeral will be held for the man killed. beverly taylor joins us in the studio with details. the funeral will be held at christian faith fellowship church. we're told representatives from many faiths will also be involved, including one who is nationally recognized. rev. jesse jackson will be officiating at the funeral of sylville smith, the man killed by a police officer during a foot chase. police say

matters says jackson is a good choice. "right now when it seems like do black lives matter. do blue lives matter. who's the greatest? he can come in to a situation like that and be a calming voice to say we all have work to do. :57bailey says why there are many unanswered questions surrounding the shooting-- friday will be all about smith's family and their grief. a horrific crime out of racine county. a 29-year-old man is accused of waterboarding a woman -- as well as sexual ly assaulting her. michael martinez faces several charges -- including false imprisonment and second degree sexual assault. a criminal complaint says the incident happened august 14. the woman told investigators she feared for her life. if convicted -- martinez could spend up to 40 years in prison. new at six. a wild pursuit of a stolen van caught on camera by a brown deer police cruiser. coming up to 76th street. no traffic." it started as a slow-speed chase... but then -- things picked up. the suspect's van went well over 80 miles per hours -- blowing through several red lights. at one point -- the van struck another car and kept going into milwaukee. minutes later -- the brown deer officer caught up with the van after it crashed near 84th and carmen. a 17-year-old boy was arrested and luckily -- no one was hurt. a search warrant leads to a big drug bust in racine county this

office searched the home in racine on tuesday. this is what they found --- marijuana, mushrooms, l-s-d, cocaine, and ecstasy. the drugs could be worth well over 10- thousand dollars. authorities also found scales and packaging supplies. three people were arrested -- but we're not naming them as charges haven't yet been filed. in light of the recent events that took place in the sherman park community...sojourner family peace center holds a peace summit. the group included young people from the cities youth organizations-- alongwi girls club. educational motivator dr. eddie moore junior talked about how to make their city a better place to live-- and challenged the audience to take action against hatred, bigotry, privilege and oppression. he added milwaukee has a chance to change. the weekend is almost here. tom wachs is coming up with his complete forecast. plus. it's a dangerous problem -- possibly coming to a neighborhood near you. the efforts to crack down on street

low-riders, with the souped-up engines, and they are really goin' at it. and, when the street racing rolls off the movie sets, it's, truly, 'fast and furious,' right now. and onto the city streets ... here come the concerns, i'm off of mill road, and i can hear them on calumet. so, i not only get it, from the constituents -- i live through it. and, of course, a crackdown. the citizens, you know, they deserve a break captain andra williams and 9th district alderwoman chantia lewis announce an effort to stop street racing, particularly on the northwest side. we need to find those pockets where they feel lilke they have a good stretch of land, and so we need residents to work with us to be able to stop the--the drag racing. in just one week, the effort has already led to three citations being issued, and the captain explains, while more serious crimes continue to take priority, there
