this was the scene around 12:30 near 22nd and keefe. officials say a 23-year-old man was killed while two other men-- ages 22 and 24-- received non-life threatening injuries. so far, no suspects are in custody. this vacant home near 50th and clarke is finally torn down after burning up in a fire two weeks ago. fox-six started asking questions earlier today about why it was still standing-- even though it was a safety hazard for neighbors. within a mat private contractor came to demolish the building. we're told the property owner decided to tear it down. this comes as city leaders announced last week that 2-million dollars will be provided to help demolish or renovate blighted homes. we have a slight chance for isolated showers and storms later this evening, although most of us should stay dry. clouds and patchy fog will move in overnight, with lows in the mid

fan, because this property is so special, and so beautiful. erin hills ambassador, rich tock, says the course has been preparing for this tournament for more than five years. some 35-thousand fans are expected to attend each of the four, championship days, and, those are preceded by three days of professional practice. a really good opportunity to really engage with all of the players that everybody loves, and to really get a feel for the campus, as well, to know, exactly, where the best places are to view golf. golf involving the best professioal world, at a course which will have the worlds attention focused on the dairy state not to mention its money. the economic impact that will, that is happening, now, and will happen, obviously, that week of the open, which ends on june 18th, next year, will approach 200 million dollars, maybe 250 million. and, along with the cash, what comes to the course involves an increased level of prestige for the state. this is just one more little feather in the hat of wisconsin,

universities in several states ... are driving students to expand their search for schools -- and many are coming to wisconsin. that's according to a new new york times report. in 2014 -- wisconsin reportedly brought in nearly 6-thousand students -- while about 38-hundred left the state for college. minnesota provided the most -- with nearly 3-thousand coming to our state. the 100 east office tower in downtown milwaukee has been sold in 417-mi investment group out of california now owns the 35-story building on wisconsin avenue -- along with three other buildings in indianapolis and cleveland. the milwaukee business journal first reported the deal last week -- which reportedly closed on thursday. for more information on this and other stories in the business journal, we have link to their site on ours, fox6now.com. it's time for your news and weather together. authorities in italy are trying

a train. this happened on friday -- and it was all caught on video... you can see officer victor ortiz struggling with the man laying on the tracks as he tried to pull him out of the way. the man resisted -- but officer ortiz was able to get the man to safety just seconds before the train arrives. new jersey transit says the officer put his own life on the line to save the man. and like a scene out of a movie -- two stranded boaters are u-s navy aircraft spots their "s-o-s" message in the sand. they spent eight days on a beach in micronesia -- in the western pacific ocean. they had limited supplies and no emergency equipment. the coast guard received a report about an 18-foot vessel with two people onboard missing since august 19-th. aircraft and boat patrols searched more than 16-thousand square miles before the castaways were

unusual competition over the weekend... get this -- to find out who can make it the farthest -- on a greased pole.. this is in malta -- an island in the mediterranean sea off the coast of italy. here's how it works: a 33-foot pole is slathered with grease and attached to a barge. contestants then try to run as far up the pole as they can -- and remove flags at the end. but the real show -- is seeing them fall off the pole and into the water. our big story - a funeral procession turns into the scene of a homicide investigation. one man is dead and two others are injured after the shooting near 22nd and keefe. fox 6's madeline anderson is at the scene with tonight's big story.
