resisting an officer. on tuesday night milwaukee police say they started getting complaints about crowds gathering in the area from neighbors. around 8 pm...police asked the crowds to disperse...when they say officers observed violations of the law. 20 minutes later police say they asked the crowd to leave again. some did...but other refused. that is when police started making arrests. fox6 has confirmed that state representative jonathan brostoff was in the area last night...and was detained by milwaukee police...and later released. brostoff tells fox6 going to the area on a quote "regular basis" to "maintain calm", "de-esclate" and "get policy ideas." police had the scene cleared by 9:45 p-m officers continued to patrol the area after that...and no further issues were reported. live near sherman park dc fox6 news. a group of kids is looking to make a difference in the sherman park

a stop in sherman park this afternoon. it's a youth empowerment organization that works to bring resources to young people so that they can become more productive. the visit will feature a tablet giveaway as well as discussions for long-term plans for jobs. the activities all start at four o'clock. one man is dead and two others are injured after a triple shooting on the city's north side. milwaukee police were called to the scene near 27th and brown yesterday afternoon. the two people injured are expected to survive. this is the third homicide within the past tw this year. police are still investigating a motive...and no word on any suspects yet. the man accused of killing a person outside a milwaukee police station will be in court today. 65-year-old randall drescher is facing one count of first degree reckless homicide. 65-year-old randall drescher is facing one count of first degree reckless homicide. police say drescher along with another man were sitting in a van outside the police station at 27th and kinnickinnic earlier this month. officers say those two men got into an argument with 42-year-old reed

drescher allegedly pulled out a gun... shooting and killing carlsen. drescher's preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 this afternoon. two milwaukee mothers say they are waiting for justice. they'll be holding a rally and vigil in honor of their two sons tomorrow. their sons were hit and killed while riding their motorcycles earlier this month. the driver who struck them was initially taken into custody-- but hasn't yet been charged. he killed my baby...this is crushing me and killing me. it looks like there is no person out. 25-year-old deangelo maxwell and 36-year-old james morris were struck and killed at 6th and mckinley. the driver of the truck who hit them was initially arrested-- but just two days after the wreck was released from custody. a medical examiner's report indicates "two open bottles of alcohol were noted in the back seat of the truck" and "a marijuana pipe could be seen laying on the ground..." the milwaukee county district attorney's office says the case is still

reconstruction. after reports that a 12-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted in a milwaukee park -- the girl has since recanted her story. five men had been arrested in connection to the alleged assault near 23rd and national monday afternoon. police say they determined the incident was quote, "baseless". the obama administration says it will distribute 53 million-dollars to 44 states in an effort to curb opioid abuse --including here in wisconsin. focus on reducing over-prescribing pain killers...increasing access to treatment...and making sure an antidote is widely available. the administration is also calling on congress to provide 1-point-1 billion dollars in new money...saying legislation recently signed into law didn't do enough to expand treatment. that bill authorized 181 million dollars in new spending. another way to honor packers legendary quarterback brett favre. a new exhibit will open at the team's hall of fame in green bay today.

the city's police board, asking that officer jason van dyke, three fellow officers and a sergeant be fired for lying about the confrontation with mc-donald. van dyke faces a murder trial, for shooting mcdonald 16 times back in 20- 14. a police board hearing will be held next month. and as chicago police struggle to track illegal guns, one state lawmaker wants to track bullets. illinois state representative sonya harper represents some of the city's most crime ridden communities. she wants ammunition makers to numbers on every bullet sold in illinois.... saying that a database could then track a bullet's source in 5 seconds. similar legislation is pending in 20 states, but it faces fierce opposition from the national rifle association. coming up - u-s olympian ryan lochte locks in another endorsement deal. more on "robo-copp" - just ahead. plus -- several kayakers recovering after being hit by a ferry on the hudson river. details on their rescue - after the break.
