following the sherman park violence. he says the focus will be on a total of about 500 vacant buildings around the sherman park neighborhood, 200 of which already owned by the city. if we can fix them, were gonna fix them. if we cant fix them, were either gonna demolish them, where we just come in and clear cut, or we deconstruct them. while deconstruction costs about 20-thousand dollars per house versus the 15-grand it takes for demolition, barrett says the added benefits are worth it. northcotts director says 33 members recently graduated m-a-t-c and are now certified to work in fields like plumbing and electrical. and thats really time or another, they probably thought theyd never have an opportunity to do this. the city still doesnt have specifics for how many properties the state investment will affect. for now, one neighbor is happy the vacant house across from her is one of them. just do something positive. thats what i think they should be doing with these houses. northcott says its looking to hire 60 more people to work on its deconstruction efforts. the city hopes that if this is successful, it will lead to more state and private investment. live at 40th and center, a.j.

it's time for your news and weather together. john doe is back in the spotlight... the british newspaper, the guardian, has published leaked documents showing governor scott walker pursued corporate funding ahead of his 2012 recall election. the documents indicate walker directed millions of dol corporate cash to a conservative group called the "wisconsin club for growth." it was legal -- as the group was not required to disclose its donors, nor did it have contribution limits. democrats responded at the capitol today denouncing walker's strategy. walker's campaign spokesman called the allegations "baseless." after six years, the milwaukee county board committee doesn't seem to want hector colon anymore. colon is the director of the health and human services department. but

against his reinstatement at the court house today. but more than a dozen other board members still have a say. they will vote in a week. dozens of people did speak in support of colon and on his behalf today. board members, no doubt, have plenty to consider going into next week's vote. a new report reveals some surprising statistics on poverty in wisconsin... the united way releases a study that shows while milwaukee has the highest poverty rate -- some other cities in outlying counties are not far factor. those who are working -- yet still struggle to make ends meet. the united way has just launched its annual fundraising drive with hopes to lower the cost of common survival items. it's rivalry week for the packers as they get ready to head to minnesota. we'll hear from the packers coming up.

weather together. workers remove 30 pieces of heavy machinery from a dakota access pipeline work-site in north dakota... the crude oil pipeline is planned to run from north dakota to illinois. yesterday's removal comes after the army, justice and interior departments jointly announced they would stop -- at least temporarily -- working near a lake the standing rock sioux tribe considers a crucial water source. a federal judge refused the tribe's request to block construction. developer will continue working on other sections of the oil line. china has issued a "red alert" warning as the strongest storm of this year approaches... typhoon meranti has weakened significantly after making landfall in taiwan... it's been downgraded from a "super typhoon." forecasters say winds could still be as high as 125 miles per hour when it hits mainland china thursday morning.

1-thousand people in taiwan had to be evacuated from their homes. meanwhile -- tropical storm julia becomes the tenth-named storm of the atlantic hurricane season. the storm formed late last night -- about five miles west of jacksonville, florida. that means it formed over land -- not over water. julia wasn't expected to form at all -- and has since weakened to a tropical depression. but -- heavy rain could still cause flooding along coastal georgia and south carolina. weather mostly clear tonight with the potential for areas of fog. lows will drop into the upper 50s. more sun tomorrow but rain showers are likely on friday. a few showers may linger into saturday morning then expect decreasing clouds. beautiful

information from the democratic national committee. the d-n-c documents released tuesday ... reportedly reveal more information about the group's finances and personal contact information for donors. but there appears to be no real damaging emails in this batch... earlier hacks from the same source led to the resignation of dnc chairwoman debbie wasserman schultz -- after leaked emails revealed a bias for hillary clinton over bern the democratic nomination fight. experts have pointed to russia as the most likely suspect for the d-n-c hacks. russian hackers are also being blamed for releasing what they claim are medical records of several team u-s-a olympic athletes. the world anti-doping agency confirming its data base was hacked -- and athletes' records were stolen. venus williams and gymnast simone biles have responded to the leaks...

bay -- that doesn't sell i-phones or computers. and that apparently has some people confused... the apple store is a produce stand- it opened for the season on monday... but the store's manager says they've been getting numerous calls from people asking when the new i-phone is coming out -- or to set up an appointment to repair an i-pad. anyhow." the store currently features sweet tango apples from door county -- and more apple varieties are expected in the coming weeks. open accused of making terrorist threats against his child's school! and he now faces serious charges for his alleged choice of words. fox6's rachelle baillon was in sheboygan county court today and is back now with more good evening. the man is accused of threatening to "light this place up". according to a criminal complaint, school officials contacted jesse j culp on september 12th because his child had a dress code violation.

demanded a principal be removed from the campus. he also threatened to "light this place up". documents quote school officials as saying culp had been aggressive and confrontational in the past. but this latest incident has him facing a charge of terrorist threats. he appeared in sheboygan county court via video feed on wednesday. "i think that's quite clear especially to the administrator who obviously understood at least what that threat was suggesting and that was that there was either going to be a fire or a bomb that was directed towards the school." ?the compl district officials asked law enforcers to be on campus, on the lookout for culp...... but he never showed up. "without a doubt it was certainly a threat that the school took as to be a threat of the school's property." according to his attorney, culp is also a former educator himself--having served as a substitute teacher. documents say a family member of
