now at 10-- horrific allegations. "it's a diff milwaukee police officer is arrested for sexual assault. and it turns out it's the same man who shot and killed a man near sherman park. "it's altogether awful." tonight-- the community reacts. hes victimizing people hes supposed to be protecting. we'll get to that story in a moment-- but first breaking news. a body is found inside a trash can in milwaukee's riverwest neighborhood. the medical examiner's office was called out to holton and

homicide. now to our big story-- a milwaukee police officer sits behind bars tonight. he is accused of sexual assault and prostitution. this is the same officer who shot and killed a milwaukee man that sparked days of unrest. tonight we have team coverage. fox 6's madeline anderson has reaction to the arrest. but let's begin with fox 6's ashley sears. milwaukee police chief ed flynn is calling the alleged actions of this disappointing." heaggan-brown is not only being charged criminally, he could soon lose his job. nats: state of wisconsin v. dominique heaggan-brown a milwaukee police officer -- now sits on the other side of the law-- facing very serious charges. dominique heaggan-brown is accused of sexual assault, prostitution and

nats: 2:01:41 do you understand the penalties for each count? he is the same officer who shot and killed sylville smith in august-- that shooting death sparked days of unrest in sherman park. nats: unrest sounds?? heaggan-brown was taken off patrol duties-- and according to a criminal complaint--one night later watched the riots from a bar with another man and bragged about "being able to do whatever he wanted without repercussions."afte r a night of drinking, the two left the bar...the man says he later woke up to heaggan -brown sexually assaulting him. victim off at a hospital telling an employee the victim was "completely out, zonked out of his gourd." as the victim got treatment, he told caregivers "he raped me, he raped me." heaggan-brown is accused of having three other victims-- 02:01 its extraordinarily disappointing and grave and were treating it as such. at a news conference thursday, chief ed flynn calls the alleged actions of the officer appalling. 01:22 just disappointed this

according to the criminal complaint, heaggan-brown also paid money for sex and took explicit photos of a fourth victim. he is being held on a $100,000 bond. heaggan-brown is suspended from the milwaukee police department and because of state law, that is "with" pay. live downtown, ashley sears fox 6 news. community activists and family of sylville smith-- outraged to learn accused of raping a man a day later. fox6's madeline anderson has more from city hall... where several people voiced their frustrations during tonight's fire and police commission meeting. thursday's news that the same milwaukee police officer who fatally shot sylville smith... is now charged with sexual assault in a separate case... comes with mixed emotions for many in the community.

dominique haegen- brown is accused of raping a man on august 14th... the night after he killed smith while on duty near 44th and auer. the shooting sparking violent protests that weekend near sherman park. if he was held in custody, that same night of the killing of sylville smith, other people wouldnt be victimized. thaddeus ashford is smith's cousin. he and the rest of the family have been pushing for haegan-brown to be charged in connection with smith's death... and for the body camera footage of the incident to be releasd district attorney's office says it's still reviewing the case. the only recent update... a search warrant unsealed this week... giving authorities permission to go through smith's cell phones as part of a drug investigation. we hear more quickly about an unsealed warrant about someone who has been murdered by the police than we hear about someone who was supposedly sworn to uphold the law that has been an accused murderer and rapist.

involving smith-- no charges have been filed. as for officer-involved shooting... there's no timetable for that decision. reporting live at city hall madeline anderson fox6 news. the fire and police commission also discussing the fate of another officer charged with sex crimes-- chief ed flynn wants to fire sahn-than- hah raj-ah- foo-mee investigators say raj-ah- foo-mee approached two overtures.he'll be in court next month. mayor barrett says allegations of this nature are taken seriously-- both by mpd and the da's office. he says "no matter the rank or circumstances, milwaukee police officers must be held to the highest standards of conduct." while the president of milwaukee's police union points out this case "is by no means reflective of the overwhelming majority of good officers." you'll remember heaggan-brown

on saturday, august 13. violence erupted that night-- and continued on sunday the 14th. the city was still very much in turmoil. and according to the criminal complaint-- heaggan-brown and the victim were watching it unfold from a bar. this is just a taste of what they might have seen. sunday night-- 7 police officers and 4 deputies were hurt in clashes with protesters. firefighters were called out to at least 3 fires-- and protesters saturday night was far worse. protesters set seven businesses on fire-- including this bp gas station. firefighters say they caused about 6 million dollars in damage. that same night-- a 16-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet near 43rd and burleigh. and four officers were hurt. to learn more about this case-- visit fox6 now dot com or the
