following breaking news out of california --- where firefighters are battling a massive fire at a pallet yard in san bernardino. the fire was reported just before four a-m west coast time. it was unclear if anyone was injured in the incident. the cause of the fire. developing stories from overnight now. police looking for a suspect who shot a man walking into his home on milwaukee's northwest side. it happened just before 11 last night near 88th and capitol. police say a suspect fired multiple gunshots at a 34-year-old man. the victim was taken to the hospital by a friend.

a suspect in custody this morning after leading police on a high speed chase. officials say they spotted a car used by a suspect to flee an armed robbery near 10th and center. officers attempted to stop the car...but the driver took off. the car eventually stopped at 10th and cleveland -- and the suspect bailed out of the car. police were able to arrest the suspect after a short pursuit on foot. massive numbers of voters are headed to the polls early...to vote early ...in tuesday;s election. milwaukee beat its on in 2012. deandra corinthios is live downtown to break down the numbers. city officials estimate when all is said and done...it will be a 27 percent increase. the most recent update from the election commission showed 38 thousand absentee votes cast. two thousand more than in 2012. that was wednesday! and votes are still coming in.

number is likely to reach close to 50- thousand. that translates to roughly one in five voters citywide. as long as you're registered-- saturday is the last day to vote early. if you're not-- you have to get it done by friday night-- or wait until election day. and new this year --there are three locations the zeidler building downtown, midtown center and the forest home library. milwaukee mayor tom barrett says the higher totals....are due to expanded voting hours -- and more places to early vote. one of this year's new locations has been the busiest "interestingly, the north side c percent of the early votes cast city wide. the southside location maybe 17 percent and the remainder here downtown, so the northside location has by far been the most popular." early voting runs today from 830 am to 7 pm...and tomorrow if you're already registered ... from noon to five. we have information about all three locations...at fox6 now dot com. reporting live in milwaukee deandra

before election day. vice president joe biden will be stumping for democratic presidential nominee hillary clinton today in madison. and republican presidential nominee donald trump will be back in wisconsin this weekend. his staff confirms he'll make a stop in west allis on sunday. and we have also just confirmed his running mate mike pence will be in mukwonago tomorrow with speaker paul ryan and senator ron johnson we are learning more details about a deadly crash in i-94 in dane county that killed milwaukee area. kim is in the newsroom with new information. four are dead... and two others were hurt in the crash. now - we've learned three of those killed... and one of the injured... all worked at a milwaukee accounting firm. police say an s-u-v was driving the wrong way on i-94 near deerfield and hit the accountants car... and one other vehicle. kim radtke, clenton hall, and katey pasqualini were all senior staff accountants at ritz-holman...and

received serious injuries and is undergoing emergency treatment. the driver of the s-u-v is listed in critical condition. the only person in the other vehicle, a man from northbrook illinois, also died. officials say alcohol is believed to have played a role in the crash. in an emotional statement, a spokeswoman for ritz-holman c-p-a says the victims were coming home from a recruiting and networking event at u-w la crosse for accounting students. happening now - the police officer who shot and killed sylville smith... is set to be arraigned on separate sexual assault charges with in the hour. angelica is here with details on other developments for dominique heaggan brown. last night --- the fire and police commission upheld police chief ed flynn's decision to fire dominique haeggan-brown. police say it's the result of an internal investigation of accusations made against heaggan- brown. the officer had been on paid leave since the august shooting of sylville smith, who police say was armed and running from police before

milwaukee has already surpassed it's early-voting record set back in 2012... absentee votes have been cast. at least two thousand more than in 2012. deandra corinthios has more from downtown. those numbers will go up...mayor tom barrett expects the total to be somewhere around 50 thousand. saturday is the last day to early vote in the city. mayor barrett credits expanded voting hours -- and more places to early vote. there are three locations this year. the zeidler building downtown, midtown center and the forest home library. that's because earlier

the injuries were so great, the infant required treatment in milwaukee the baby had fractures on his skull and bleeding on his brain. when the parents were questioned by police--they denied abuse. the baby was previously treated at a hospital after his tongue was bleeding. the parents say that was due to an accident with a syringe. we are told the infant's injuries are not life threatening. there are some people who have questioned the accountability of voucher schools. one reason vouchers are diffen teachers don't need teaching licenses. and one local principal, we've found, doesn't need a clean background check, either. fox6 investigator meghan dwyer has the story. calling. well call again. ive been emailing. well call again, see you later bye. why are you getting such an attitude with me? because we don't want you in the building."hickman academy is a choice school on the northwest side of milwaukee . it used to be a daycare. in 2009 it was investigated for its ties to drug dealers, who police suspected were using the daycare as a front. as a daycare, hickman academy received more than 12- million dollars in taxpayer money.as a school, it's receives about two million dollars a year. and as the fox6 investigators have uncovered, it's i convicted criminal. "i am good to work in the school. thats the most i can say."the fox6 investigators have reported extensively on voucher school leaders in wisconsin. "when these schools you have never heard of show up one day and people get a glossy flyer saying enroll your student today for a great education...you know, everything that glitters isnt gold.' many voucher school leaders dont even have backgrounds in education - a sticking point for choice school opponents like congressman

the public school system.' hickmans vice principal jeff montgomery used to work as an insurance agent. he got caught pocketing premiums from elderly clients and was convicted of embezzlement in 2005. now he leads this voucher school. his resume shows hes in charge of developing and monitoring the schools budget of more than 2-million dollars a year - and all of it is public money. "is this a good time to talk to you, mr. mon talk on air. i can tell you my background check is clean." thats what he told the wisconsin department of children and families, too, when he applied for a license to run a day care. records show he denied ever being convicted of a crime - and state officials never caught it. 'i trust him. he probably turned over a new leaf. he made a mistake.' but according to the milwaukee police department hes currently under investigation for writing bad checks. good to work in the school. thats the most i can say." montgomery has filed for bankruptcy seven times. he owes the state money for unemployment benefits he shouldnt have received. and court records show he owes 80-thousand dollars in child support - all of which could bar him from obtaining a teaching license and working in a public school.but a voucher school? no problem. he even tried to open his own school. he raised about 4-thousand dollars on go fund me, but the school never got off used funds to buy cadillacs, we had people who said they could read a book by putting their hand on it, and they were getting public funds. now weve cleaned up some of that, a little bit of it but theres still a lot of other accountability problems. we showed parents montgomerys mugshot.most had no clue he had a criminal conviction.
