jessica's family was supposed to stay near orlando ... about 240 miles away from the active zika transmission zone. still too close for comfort for jessica's family. i got all of the money back for everything except from the airlines. in late july ... this was the original fax we sent. she asked american airlines for a refund of the tickets ... worth about 500 dollars ... and sent them a note from her doctor. this is to certify that jessica schneider is unable to fly. but getting a refund from the airlines ... wasn't easy. three or four different times. contact 6 reached out to several airlines. american airlines ... frontier and delta ... all handle zika related refunds on a case-by-case basis. it is difficult to just have a policy and reimburse everyone who just doesnt want to go. flora fuller at bayside travel ... says airlines will generally offer
