elsewhere! the man accused of firing a shot at milwaukee police makes his first court appearance today. revealed today--- once taken into custody-- there are other prosecutors who were looking for him. our ben handelman was the only reporter in court-- he's at the courthouse tonight. day-bree-on jefferson was called a substantial flight risk in.turns out he has a history of not showing up for court appearances. he now has a high bail that comes with that title. state of wisconsin vs debreon jefferson. while this is his "initial appearance"- this is not dabreon day-bree-on jefferson's first time in trouble.from fleeing--- to drug possession--- the 23-year-old has a history of not showing up to face the

5th. cash bail forfeited. jefferson's reaction this time--- the state would be requesting 100-thousand cash bail wince showing he's never faced charges this serious. he kicked my door in, and he kicked her garage door in, last week neighbors near 26th and atkinson in milwaukee reported a rash of burglaries. a criminal complaint filed in court-- says a called police. when an officer arrived he says he found jefferson looking into the back of house-- the officer says when he told jefferson to put his hands up, jefferson turned and "fired the a gun one time at him".the officer returned two shots of his own. a bullet hole shows it was a close call--- no one was hit. police later learned the gun used, was part of the loot stolen on the block. when jefferson was caught after a short police chase, he told investigators "when he pulled

think you are a substantial bail risk. in court--- it was revealed prosecutors in both milwaukee and waukesha county have been looking for jefferson for other cases. the 100-thousand dollar bail request-- accepted by the court. jefferson faces charges of burglary and attempt at 1st degree intentional homicide. if convicted he faces more than 70 years in prison. live at the milwaukee county courthouse, ben handelman, fox 6 news. he was killed one week before his 20th birthday. tonight we're learning more about the victims of a devastating accident near 27th and capitol saturday. one man is dead. his cousin -- fighting for his life. derica williams has the story. "the family wishes to express their anger and frustration that this person took their loved 18-year-old woman fled from police after being stopped due to a license plate issue. the speeding car crashed into another car and a light pole, oliver who was a passenger, died at the scene his 18- year-old cousin was severely injured. bad brain injury. loved ones of both victims are distraught, claiming the boys were good kids who never had legal trouble. "he had dreams he had aspirations that he wanted for himself and everyone around him " "he was a very good child, he did not want to be in that situation " milwaukee police say they have presented the case to the the milwaukee county district attorney's office, and it's currently under review. so details about charges should be available in the coming days. as for oliver there has been a go un funeral expenses. the info posted on our website, fox6 derica williams, fox 6 news. the man accused in the fatal hit-and-run that killed a little girl pleads not guilty. 30-year-old sherman liddell of milwaukee... is charged with one count of hit- and-run and driving with a suspended license-- both resulting in death. he allegedly told authorities he was driving his girlfriend's s-u-v when 5-year-old rickyia langham darted in front of his car. he

liddell is being held on a 100-thousand dollar bond. milwaukee police make an arrest after a stabbing on the city's north side. it happened near 6th and reservoir about eleven last night. police say a 29-year-old man was stabbed multiple times. a 50-year-old man is in custody. we're told the victim is in stable condition... no word yet on motive. a woman is seriously hurt after being hit by a car just before two this morning near 23rd and lincoln. police say the 34-year-old woman ran out into the street-- and that's when t police say the driver stayed on scene...and is cooperating. where is 16-year old kendall humphries? the lake mills teen hasnt been seen all month... and police say new information indicates she may be in danger. fox6s bret lemoine has more on the search... and the emotional plea from her parents. her parents are praying for their daughters safe return... but police say... this isnt the first time the teen ran away

first. pm 'im confident that she is going to show up. and im fairly confident she is nearby.' lake mills police say 16-year old kendall humphries ran away from home in late october. police chief pat matuszewski mot-uh-shesh-key says humphries was located... and returned home... only to run away again on november first. its now been three weeks since her family has seen or heard from her. pm 'she was listed as a runaway initially - we received information recently from parents that had us upgrade this to missing and endangered.' with new information monday... but matuszewski declined to elaborate on specifics. investigators believe humphries has been traveling between dane and jefferson counties. police say theyre not certain she is with people she knows. the people she was staying with the first time she ran away... are said to be cooperating with the current investigation. pm 'we are following up on information and every lead that

with county sheriffs departments... private investigators... and the 'center for search and investigations for missing children. pm 'we just have a wide array of people of people looking for kendall right now.' but matuszewski isnt confident she wants to be found. desperate to locate their daughter, her parents, nicholas and amber humphries, issued this statement: 'kendall, if you hear this message, please know how much your entire family misses you. we pray every day, all day, that you are safe. we love you kendall. kendall humphries is five feet, four inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. she has brown hair and blue eyes, with a scar on the left side of her upper lip. if you have any information, youre asked to call lake mills police. new information on that demolition mishap that happened yesterday on milwaukee's east side. citations have now been issued after that building collapsed

the 9-day gun deer hunt off to a slow start. hunters killed about 5 percent fewer deer on opening weekend this year than last. the state department of natural resources released preliminary estimates of the opening weekend harvest on monday evening. the dnr says hunters killed about 115 thousand deer compared to 120- thousand last year. a weekend hunting trip -- takes a tragic turn. a milwaukee man - found dead. his father found unconscious. and what was in their cabin - was the killer. myra sanchick has the warning sheriff. there is plenty of good hunting land and farmland in the reeseville area. it's a popular location for locals to hunt. the dodge county sheriff says a father and son were in the area hunting but did not return to milwaukee after the weekend. monday night deputies went to their cabin. they broke the windows to get in after spotting a man lying on the floor. when they got in another man was found not far

was dead. his 69 year old father ill and rushed to a hospital. the sheriff says there were no signs of foul play. and they are investigating the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning. there was a furnace there. the furnace may have been malfunctioning.carbon monoxide most know is an odorless tasteless gas that you really don't notice the effects until it's too late. it seems to fit the circumstances ahead, the sheriff says there is a reminder to all hunters who stay in cabins or little used second homes. people when they're going out on hunting trips a lot of times will bring things with them maybe a heater,maybe stoves thing like that certainly you need to be careful those certainly could cause carbon monoxide when you're going into a residence that isn't used that often you have to make sure that furnace is working properly the sheriff says they will release the names of the victim tomorrow, after all the family gets a

sanchick fox6 news an early morning pursuit in west allis ends with two arrests -- and two handguns seized. it happened near 76th and national. officers were trying to pull over a stolen car -- when the driver took off. two men from milwaukee were arrested nearby -- after stop sticks were used to stop the vehicle. we're told one of the guns recovered was reported stolen. drugs were also found in the car. the victim of a scary car crash this summer... says near later... he's still waiting to be compensated for what he's been through. fox6's madeline anderson talks with the milwaukee man about the roadblocks he's faced. the physical pain remains constant for kenneth lewis... three and a half months since he was the victim of a crash a block away from home. they said if i would have twisted my neck the wrong way, i could have been paralyzed for the rest of my but the emotional anguish is worse... lewis says

stoker smith is live in the newsroom with more. mary? the bus driver-- 24-year-old johnthony walker was arrested and has been charged with five counts of vehicular homicide along with reckless driving and reckless endangerment. thirty-five students from kindergarten through fifth grade were on board yesterday afternoon when the bus flipped onto its side and wrapped around a tree. according to an arrest affidavit-- walker was going well above the posted 30 miles an hour speed limit five students and injuring almost 20 others. "right now, we have 12 pediatric patients in our children's hospital. six of those children are still in critical condition, six are in stable condition. we think it is important to point out that we also had 19 patients arrive shortly after the accident. according to the affidavit-- walker was arrested because of how fast and how recklessly he was

arena.... and they have nothing to do with basketball. the milwaukee bucks hopes its new home will attract a variety of major events - including some big names in music. a.j. bayatpour explains. beams emerging from the ground near 4th and juneau now resemble the skeleton of a seating bowl. as the new arena starts to take shape, the bucks confirm they're hoping to draw bigger concerts and more o a lot of these joints wouldnt even be here without those facilities. one block over at buck bradley's, it's music to owner wally paget's ears. he says big-name concerts bring in crowds only a handful of sporting events can. its similar to if the bucks are playing, as they did on saturday, golden state or if theyre playing cleveland, or if marquette plays wisconsin or the ncaas. the c-e-o of the bmo
