interstate but you could sitll find some slick spots. in milwaukee...102 salt trucks were deployed sunday...to make this morning's commute a bit easier. milwaukee dpw crews pre-treated the roads saturday, then, the salt trucks went out on the main highways throughout the day, tackling secondary roads in the late afternoon and evening. crashes...including this one on northbound i-41 north of highway 60. a wisconsin state patrol trooper's squad was struck by a vehicle. thankfully he's going to be okay... most drivers though say they had no issues getting around. "the roads were a little bit of water little it of moisture on ground but not too slippery it seemed like the salt trucks had been

of room on the roads. live in west allis dc fox6 news. breaking news this morning - president elect donald trump... expected to nominate doctor ben carson to serve as secretary of housing and urban development. the secretary of housing and urban development oversees federl helps formulate policy on homelessness and housing discrimination. carson reportedly declined an offer for secretary of health and human services last month. in a statement this morning... carson says he's honored... and feels that he can "make a significant contribution particularly by strengthening communities that are most in need." the recount of the presidential election continues across the state today... 4 days of recounted votes are now in the books. but how much of an impact are we

sunday in the election recount -- more than 1 million votes have now been counted up a second time. of the 59 counties that have reported some or all of their results, president- elect donald trump has picked up about 40 more votes than hillary clinton. six counties have finished their recounts -- none in our area. in racine county, election inspectors worked through the packers game on sunday -- and are now just about halfway-through the count. were not seeing significant changes. its typical of a recount where you go through everything again. you find blue pen that the machine didnt count on election day, so were hand-counting some of those president-elect trump won wisconsin by more than 22-thousand votes. the recount continues after a federal judge refused to immediately stop it on friday. the judge has scheduled a hearing for this friday to consider the request from two pro-trump groups. coming up in our next half hour, we'll talk about how other states are being impacted by the recount.

are investigating a shooting on milwaukee's north side. officials say that a 25-year-old man was shot in an exchange of gunfire with another man. he was taken to the hospital and is expected to be ok. a 19-year-old man remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. the packers are staying alive! after a tough november the packers brace the elements of december and come out on top! as usual, the difference was aaron rodgers. the rollout and the dart to a well covered randall cobb-- putting the packers on top 7 - 0. then it t-d of the season! the texans added 13 points of their own to the scoreboard, but it wasn't enough! the 6 and 6 packers win, 21-13. tim van vooren has more from lambeau. milwaukee's department of public works got an early start on sunday's snow... and it's paying off this morning deandra corinthios is live off i-94 in west allis with a look at conditions for your morning commute the d-p-w tackled main streets first - then the secondary roads. morning. take a look at i-94...it's clear...but could be slick in some spots. milwaukee's department of public works deployed 102 salt trucks for the first snow of the season crews had pre treated the roads on saturday. by sunday afternoon most of the main roads were clear and dpw started working on the side streets. by the evening...all the roads had seen a plow come through. conditions were worse west of the city... a state trooper's squad was truck on i-41 northbound north

announced yesterday that it will not grant the easement. the standing rock sioux tribe has been at the center of the protests over the construction of the pipeline. they argue it could compromise their water supply and threaten several cultural sites. officials are still trying to figure out what caused that deadly warehouse fire in oakland. at least 33 people have been confirmed dead. the recovery effort is still ongoing... and most of the building has yet to be searched. sgt. ray kelly, alameda co. sheriff's office: "this tragedy has hit very close to home for our agency. one of our deputies that we work with lost his son in the dance party late friday night. firefighters are removing debris very slowly... trying to avoid a building collapse and protect any possible evidence. investigators still don't know what caused the fire... but inhabitants of the warehouse -- known as the "ghost ship" -- say the building had been carved into artist studios and was an illegal home for about a dozen people. they say

in tennessee... gatlinburg residents are being allowed to return home... to see the damage left behind by a string of wildfires. the town is still closed to outsiders this morning. hundreds of homes were burnt down in the resort town early last week... at least 13 people died, and dozens others were hurt. more victims could be discovered as officials continue to search the area. wildfires have been burning across the southeast for weeks, fueled by the worst drought in almost a decade. a georgia man convicted of purposely leaving his child to today. justin ross harris was found guilty of malice murder last month. investigators say he left his 22-month-old son cooper in a car for seven hours in 20-14. temperatures reached the high eighties that day. police later said that harris had affairs... and that he killed the little boy to avoid his parental responsibilities. but his attorneys said the death was an accident and they planned to appeal the verdict. harris is facing the possibility of life in

scheduled for a senate hearing wednesday on their proposed merger. the companies first announced the 85- billion dollar deal in october. a-t-and-t specializes on wireless and internet service... merging with time warner would allow the company to expand into programming. former green party presidential nominee doctor jill stein is expected to address the election recount efforts in pennsylvania at a press conference today. this as a judge has ordered a hand recount of michigan's presidential results to begin today. angelica joins us now with the latest. presidential election results will begin today at noon. the move increases the chances that the state could complete the count ahead of a december 12th deadline. green party candidate jill stein's lawyers argued that waiting until wednesday would cut it too close. meanwhile-- stein is expected to hold a press conference today to announce taking her pennsylvania recount efforts to the federal level. stein is now asking for a recount on constitutional grounds. this is after a pennsylvania judge ordered the voters who

million-dollar bond in order to continue. lawyers for pennsylvania republicans and president-elect donald trump asked a judge thursday to dismiss stein's request, citing that there is no evidence of fraud or illegal activity during the election. and in north carolina, election officials in one county are going back over each ballot one by one for the governor's race recount. election board members have until tonight to recount all 90-thousand ballots in durham county. democrat roy cooper won that race, beating ot incumbent pat mccrory. but the issue comes from a computer malfunction in tabulating the votes from six different voting sites. the data was ultimately retrieved, but republicans argue the glitch created the potential for fraud. dubai is now home to the world's largest flower structure. how many plants are on the replica of a giant airplane. the packers are once again giving fans a reason to celebrate. we have all your highlights from the win at lambeau. the old pabst brewery is getting an upgrade. carl is checking out
