a storm system coming together over head. we will track that on live super doppler 7. there is isolated heavy rainfall up and down 95 in the heart of the metro area. especially in parts of northern virginia. maryland as well on 270 and frederick. there's a cut off to the east of the blue ridge. this is slowly push in northeast. most of the rain today will be east of the blue ridge. most of the rainfall will be falling during the morning through lunchtime. in the afternoon we could see a few breaks in the clouds. thunderstorms possible. we cannot not rule out severe thunderstorms as well. and potentially damaging wind with a few isolated thunderstorms later on today. tomorrow, partly cloudy, but temperatures falling low 60's's with gusty wind. you will notice the wind on

motorcycle accident with a car. it's not clear what led to the collision. lanes were closed as police investigated. the victim's name has not been released. later this morning we expect to learn new details about an arrest in the murder of jessica nguyen. >> the 11-year-old was found stabbed to death in her home in may. the stepfather was arrested yesterday and charged with murder. >> police found lifeless body of 12-year-old jessica in the basement of her gaithersburg home. some one stabbed and slashed her. her stepfather, age 42, is charged with the murder. we found this distraught woman asked hang's apartment. -- at david hang's home.

welcome back. problems this morning for several georgetown university students. their personal information was sent by accident to 26 seniors

in the school of foreign service. it includes grade point averages and student id numbers, but no social security numbers. was accidentally released in an e-mail attachment. the students have been asked to destroy the information. cracks have been found on the three newly built bridges across the intercounty connector. officials tell the washington post that there were discovered on bridges that carried traffic on needwood road, georgia avenue, and emery emory lane. it comes from a design flaw that the contractor will pay to fix. the board of supervisors in virginia has voted to pass the broadest tax relief possible for the homeowners affected by the earthquake. damage totals $18 million.

east as southern maryland and the stretching off the eastern shore. the american action in charles county and calvert county and prince george's county not seeing as much of the rain. most of it is in virginia along and west of 95, between 95 and the blue ridge. the showers will probably make through the metro area at 9:00 or 8:00 a.m. the bulk of the steady rain through the morning. going into the afternoon and evening, a few thunderstorms could develop. some storms could become severe later on today. gusty, damaging winds possible. 68 degrees is the high temperature. right now, 61 at reagan national. tomorrow it will be cooler despite sunshine. temperatures will restate low 60's's with gusty winds out of the southwest 15-20, and testing near 30. friday, near 60. same story on the weekend.
