15. i am cynne simpson. >> i am steve chenevey. happy to be with you. we will start with traffic and weather every ten minutes starting with lisa baden. >> the traffic pattern change on the outer loop of the beltway between new hampshire and university, this was scheduled three lanes to the left hand one lane to the right are getting through that project. if you are coming off new hampshire avenue onto the outer loop, you get on in the middle of the work zone. if you want to exit from the outer loop to university, you'll have to plan ahead and stay in the right lane. just relax and you will see when you get there. now there's an accident reported in that area of the beltway. 70 is closed. it has been closed since the 1:00 hour with a serious brac westbound at 32. no one is getting by. -- serious wreck.

night on east capitol street in capitol heights. the victim was traveling westbound on central avenue when another driver made a left turn on to college and into the path of the motorcycle. the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital. that's where he died. the other driver remained on the scene and is cooperating. >> prince george's county police are searching for a man they say sexually assaulted a teenager on tuesday night. detectives released this composite sketch of the suspect. the suspect held two sisters at gunpoint, forcing them to a wooded area near kingston drive in temple hills. older sister knocked a man to the ground, allowing them to escape. >> d.c. police learning the potomac river rapist has even more victims. those crimes span over two decades. john gonzalez is live in northwest with more details on the case. good morning. >> good morning. this man terrorized montgomery
county throughout the 1990's. bouys this morning and added a victim to the list. believe he raped a 58-year-old woman in the palisades neighborhood of northwest d.c. in july of 1996. no one knows his real name but for more than a decade police have called him the potomac river rapist. when door-to-door thursday evening talking to neighbors, to jog your memory is about a crime they say committed nearly 16 years ago. >> is connected to this area. the macarthur boulevard area. we are hoping by saturating this area and releasing this composite, but somebody will remember him from 1996. prexy grab the woman walking along macarthur boulevard dragged her into the woods. using dna evidence from that case the link this crime to six other sexual assaults including the rape and murder of a montgomery county woman that was committed in the 1990's as well. what's the matter how good you think things are, you still
have to have a certain amount of awareness. >> some longtime residents say they clearly remember seeing a suspicious man in the neighborhood around the same time. >> so i walked down and came up out of the woods. >>-- he came out of the woods. but there could be as many as 10 attacks from 1991 through 1998 linked to the suspect. the body of christine mirzayan was found and her purse was found months later in the potomac river. >> an announcement could come as soon as today about a new casino in maryland. it involves placing it along the national harbor. that's where we find jummy olabanji this morning with details. good morning. >> good morning. this all has to do with mgm. we have learned that mgm has
an interest in placing a casino at the national harbor. the vice president for global development was in annapolis on wednesday meeting with developers of the national harbor as well as the speaker of the maryland house michael bush. none of this can happen without approval from the maryland general assembly. lawmakers are considering an expansion of gambling that that would add a sixth casino in maryland presumably in prince george's county, as well as all the rice table games such as blackjack and craps. maryland general assembly is starting a special session on july 9. some local lawmakers say they will fight hard to push this through because they say they might get blocked by some of the other localities across the state that might be jealous a casino will be placed in prince george's county. we spoke with residents of the national harbor as well as around the county. they seem split. some worry it could create traffic headaches like the ones we saw earlier this week and

they face more than four years in jail after pleading guilty to fraud charges this year. prosecutors say that they stole money from their client's bank accounts. many of them owned homes in the district but worked overseas. >> could a new casino be headed to prince george's county? maryland house speaker michael bush met with an executive from mgm and a national harbour developer. while details of the agreement are not clear, mgm would operate a high-end casino at the potomac river development destination. that is if an expansion of maryland gambling is approved. an announcement of the deal is expected today. >> next week if you use metro they're launching an overhaul on rush-hour service. brianne carter is live with a preview. good morning. >> starting monday, new options for thousands of metro
passengers, something they f hope will ease something theyor tens of thousands that will be affected by the changes. the improved rush-hour service is called rush plus designed to serve more customers, to reduce the crowding on the trains and to provide new transfer-free travel options. monday during rush hour, passengers from greenbelt to franconia's springfield will be able to do so without transferring. this is just a blue line station currently, but it will also operate as a station starting on monday during rush hour. passengers will not have to transfer. another highlight, on the orange line there will be an additional six trains, three in each direction during rush hour between vienna and largo town center, meaning more seats. the new rush hour service will be indicated by a broken line
