who was also found dead. richard joins us from the satellite center. he died. >> that is right. he was passionate about mountain climbing in the outdoors and started climbing in the boy scouts and since then has climbed many things, through the himalayas with the peace corps death valley but his latest adventure in the indies was cut short. the 32-year-old was mountain climbing. "mountains," he said "is a way for me to find god." >> he led a wonderful life. he kept his faith for most always. >> in mid july, a 29-year-old began hiking on the peak in the peruvian andes but after july 11 there was no contact from

the two men and a week-long search turned up two bodies. investigators believe they made this camp before they fell off a ridge to their death. friends say they were always well prepared and never took undue risks. >> if they do not think they will make a summit, they do not try. >> they say he was a member of faith, a member of the catholic student group while studying for a doctorate. in the end the weather may have been a factor. they describe the difficult conditions high winds, and deep snow. they say they found signs of an avalanche. a number on a blog have called them to the of of the finest climbers. his father derry summed up his

"mountains are not stadiums where i satisfied -- i practice my religion." in the studio, richard reeve abc 7 news. >> thank you. police need your help finding a missing a senior. investigators say she was last seen last night around 11:30 in northwest washington on farragut st.. she needs medical attention. if you have information, please give police a call. >> and pedestrians struck and killed in prince william county as the man was crossing lee county in gainesville. the driver of the vehicle did stay at the scene. there is an investigation under way to figure out if there should be any charges. police have not released the name of the victim.

>> and we are learning more about the man killed inside and arlington jewelry store. abc 7 talked to some of the friends, and we are joined at the columbia pike store. they did have a message for the public, is that right? >> yes. understand their reluctance, because the suspected killer is still out there and they have not released to the victim's identity. his family said they want his killer brought to justice. friends of the victim's daughter dropped by to pay respects. >> a great person. she is always fun to be around. my heart goes out. some terrible. >> arlington county police were backed out in force at the jewelry store, processing the crime scene and looking for clues in this deadly armed robbery.

investigators say the man, seen in these surveillance pictures, entered the store about 4:00 friday afternoon. he was there less than 20 minutes and left with an undetermined amount of jewelry. police are not saying how they are suspecting he killed the person. police discovered his body inside. >> i am sure he is a great man i am sure they were not prepared for this. >> in the past hour or so, a police group came in to seal off the doorway to the building. as you can see well-wishers have been leaving things here. we are told they are still working at a lead in this case. if you have any information or believe you have spotted the suspect, they ask for your assistance. abc 7 news. >> memorial services were held

all over the weekend for the colorado shooting victims, and as many people still question the tragedy, another says he prays for the gunman. there was the emergency exit where the shooter entered. he thought he was going to die and try to make peace of it by prey. he says he has founded in his heart to forgive the man who nearly killed him and herbs to meet him. >> i would say i forgive you and i would ask if i could pray for him. because the truth is every person on this world deserves forgiveness. >> he says what he can forgive him, he wanted to spend the rest of his life in prison. in the meantime, the suspect is due to be in court tomorrow. >> and learning that they could

be victims one man is accused of deliberately infecting patients while working as a traveling medical technician. they say he allegedly passed on a virus to least 30 patients in new hampshire. a nationwide investigation is underway. he worked at four maryland hospitals. >> to give them back what was taken from them we can never do that. this is just a tragic sick -- circumstance. >> they asked more than 3000 patients to get tested. it was just too much to handle. meanwhile, the suspect remains in jail. >> a measure covering border patrol goes into effect. we are talking about the st. peter's catholic church in hancock, md., and they were

degrees from yesterday's temperature. making it to 90 degrees or above. it is quiet and dry outside with a few clouds. we are looking at conditions that are going to stay relatively nice for the evening hours, and then as we move into tomorrow afternoon the clouds are going to increase just a bit. 90 degrees. the record 100 force that that just last year in 2011. looking at our temperatures outside right now, 89 degrees at reagan national airport. the dewpoint is in the low 60's, and that is why it feels comfortable. a high today of 87. it is 84 in rockville, and 86 degrees in annandale. the rain is going to remain away from us, at least for the next 24 hours or so. temperatures across the board in the 80's. 82 in winchester.

down in fredericksburg we are looking at 85 degrees. the heat and humidity is beginning to build once again. even though it is only 85 degrees in st. louis, this part of the country is looking again at temperatures in the triple digits. just a few isolated showers across southern maryland. this is not going to amount to all lot. otherwise outdoor dining, going for a walk after dinner, no problem whatsoever. cloudy conditions for over nine hours. here is our futurecast. mainly clear skies for the overnight. tomorrow afternoon, daytime highs in the mid to upper 80's, a chance for a few showers late in the day but the best chance for showers a rumble of thunder, cloudy skies tuesday. it looks pretty gloomy with temperatures in the lower to mid 80's. i promise you by the end of the

week we will be looking at temperatures begin in the mid 90's. cooler temperatures out west, more mild temperatures in the district. tomorrow a good deal of sunshine. by about 12:00 or 1:00 clouds will start to come in. a chance for some showers in the evening hours. tomorrow night looks wet, and tomorrow mid 80's. look what happens as we go towards the end of the week. the index is around 100 degrees. we turn the corner from the month of july into august. look at that. by the end of the week. >> at least we had a nice little break today. it is good to know. exactly. and who is he throwing to? this has been an item. wondering that.
