developing now out of south carolina. police say a man charged with kidnapping a woman and holding her captive - has made a chilling confession. todd kohlepp claims to be a serial killer -- responsible for as many as 7 murders. the startling admission comes after police found 30-year-old kayla brown chained inside a metal container on his property. she had been missing for two months. once in custo police say kohlepp fessed up to murdering four people in a motor sports shop in 2003. kohlepp led authorities to a number of graves on his property over the weekend. police also discovered the remains of kayla brown's boyfriend at his estate. new overnight - a bachelor party in canada turns deadly. toronto police say 26-year-old "julian

outside a bar early sunday morning. police say jones was punched, kicked and stomped in what appears to be an unprovoked attack. jones was a close friend of the groom, and was himself engaged to be married. the toronto star newspaper reports jones was attending law school in baltimore. a woman is in critical condition after a cannon exploded at a pumpkin chunkin' contest in delaware yesterday. you can see it here ... a panel on an air cannon known as pumpkin reaper -- blew off when the gourd was launched. metal struck a 39-year-old woman in the head. she was airlifted to a hospital. another man also sustained non-life threatening injuries. it's unclear what caused the cannon to malfunction. and some good news this morning ... look at this face... a toy poodle found in the potomac river has beaten the odds. a good samaritan found the dog after hearing whimpering along rocks near the water. she was rushed to the vet where and treated for severe diseases. but after extensive therapy -- the underdog pup is almost ready for adoption.

autria and larry - within the past few minutes we learned that the septa transit strike in philadelphia will end. we are told that e reached an agreement. the end of the strike comes just in time for election day. there was a lot of concern that voters in philadlephia wouldn't be able to get to the polls to vote - because transit was shut down. - frosty start -> cool

school closures. the five point oh magnitude quake hit around eight o'clock last night in cushing, oklahoma.. that's about 50 miles southwest of tulsa. the quake was felt as far away as iowa, illinois and texas.

have evacuated some older parts of cushing, until engineers can assess the damage. cushing public schools have also canceled classes today. so far no injuries reported from the quake. developing now a prince william county woman is dead, after being shot in her car, at a strip mall parking lot. investigators say it happened just after 5-30 sunday night, at the virginia gateway shopping center in gainesville. the victim ha o right now, police do not think the shooting was random. so far, there is no suspect in custody. in the day ahead, closing arguments begin, in the trial of david black. he's charged with murdering his estranged wife. in april of last year, bonnie black was found stabbed to death in her home in south arlington. more than six months later, david black was arrested, and charged with first-degree murder. court documents reveal a history of domestic violence involving the couple, and

tonight, some black lives matter activists plan to protest the death of 31-year-old terrence sterling. a d.c. police officer shot and killed him on september 11th.. in northwest washington. police say sterling was driving erratically on a motorcycle, and was shot after he rammed a police car. tonight's protest begins at seven.. at third and "m" streets northwest. that's where sterling was killed. less than 24 hours from now - voters will head to the polls to pick our next president. but that's not the only race on the the decision desk with your ballot snapshot. one of those down ballot races getting a lot of attention in virginia, is the 10th congressional district.. incumbent first-term republican barbara comstock, is facing democrat luann bennett. as for measures to watch for... the right to work measure is designed to add a section to the virginia constitution that would make it illegal for workplaces to require labor union membership for

exemption. if passed it could provide certain property tax exemptions to surviving spouses of first responders killed in the line of duty. and in fairfax county-- a referendum that would allow a tax on prepared food and beverages, called a "meal tax". most of the money from the tax would go towards education. in maryland -- it's the u-s senate race, you have to watch out for. incumbent barbara mikulski is retiri open... and 4 people on the ballot who want to fill it. democrat chris van hollen, and republican kathy szeliga , are looking to take that seat. people in prince george's county will have their eye on the school board races. all five seats are up for grabs. it comes at a time where the school system has been struggling amid fallout from recent issues incolving child abuse allegations and the head start program's loss of federal funding.
