hours. police arrested more than a dozen demonstrators there. large crowds also rallied against trump's election in new york, chicago, dallas and seattle.... with police, making arrests in nearly every city. protests also broke out here in the district. one right outside the white house, another outside of trump hotel where some were caught attempting to break through a barrier. we want to take you to that chaotic scene outside the white house where secret service. the crowd filled with dozens of anti-trump protesters were then dispersed. meanwhile another massive crowd marched the streets of d-c holding anti-trump signs--chanting "u-s-a no trump". earlier wednesday protesters at american university burned u-s flags on campus. trump supporters who watched the protest are hoping

critical condition after a shooting downtown wednesday night. two other men and one woman were injured, but overnight hospital up-graded their condition to "stable". seattle police say the shooting was the result of an argument, and not related to the anti-trump protests in that city late last night. the gunman is still

the voter turnout results are in. jummy olabanji is at the election desk with a look at the numbers. millions of americans made a different decision on election day - not voting. according to the independent journal review, turnout overall was the lowest it's been in more than a decade. let's take a look at the numbers here in our area. in the district about 287 thousand people visited the polls. that's about a 60 percent turnout.. just about what it was back in 20-12. in virginia - with percent of precints reportings - the results show 68 percent of registered voters cast a ballot. state turnout in 20-12 was nearly 72 percent. and in maryland, a different story. the state elections board predicts voter turnout around 75 to 80 percent - a record breaking number in the free state. the official numbers are still being tallied.

following the election of donald trump. tens of thousands across the country marching in protest--the worst coming in california. overnight demonstrators blocked lanes on the 101 freeway in los angeles.. and in oakland, an even more intense scene where multiple fires were set on forced to move in and used tear gas. protests erupted in at least a dozen other cities wednesday including new york, chicago, and right here in d-c. an american university student became so enraged by donald trump's upset victory -- that he set fire to an american flag. young voters -- many casting ballots for the first time -- voted overwhelmingly in favor of hillary clinton. once the votes were counted -- isaih young says he felt
