overnight - the president-elect tweeting new plans for his businesses, when he takes office. trump said he will be leaving his businesses in the hands of his two sons before inauguration day, to focus full time on the presidency. trump also said quote "no new deals will be done during my terms in office". the announcement comes just hours after trump postponed a news conference this week about his plans to avoid potential conflicts of interest when he's in the white house. we're standing by for a different announcement from the president elect. trump plans to nominate his pick for secertary of state some time this morning. sources say he's chosen exxon mobile c-e-o "rex tillerson" to lead the state department. it a controversial choice, partly because of tillerson's close ties to russian president, vladimir putin. the pick comes as momentum is buliding from lawmakers on both sides to hold investigaon

overnight left one person dead. police say a car crashed into a pole on walker mill road around nine o'clock monday night. the road was shut down for hours but is now back open. the victim has not been identified. a woman is charged with driving while intoxicated, after hitting the fairfax county police chief in his cruiser. police say, chief edwin roessler was sitting at a traffic light on lee highway in centerville last night when he was rear-ended. roessler was treated for minor injuries. new developments concerning the prince george's county liquor board chairman arrested for alleged d-u-i.. charles caldwell was arrested after the grand opening of the m-g-m national harbor casino. he'd been in an accident involving three cars. no one was injured. caldwell originally said he took a breathalyzer test that was inconclusive. but newly released police reports state, he refused a breathalyzer test after failing a field sobriety test. the reports also indicate, he asked police, quote.. of the district... dc fire says they are working a fire inside the capitol hilton at 16th and k streets. we understnad the ffire started in the laundry room in the basement. we have a crew on the way. developing now - a bomb threat forces a plane to make an unscheduled stop at new york's j-f-k airport. authorities say the lufthansa flight was heading from houston to germany when a threat was called in to the airline's headquarters in germany. the pilot was notified and chose to divert to j-f-k as a precaution. the plane was taken

where 530 passengers and crew were evacuated. the n-y-p-d bomb squad searched the plane but nothing was found. happening today.. federal investigators will hold a news conference today about the deadly warehouse fire in oakland,, california. the fire broke out during a dance party earlier this month, killing 36 people. on sunday, a-t-f crews left the site, but officials say the scene is still being secured. investigators believe an electrical problem may have started the fire. also in the day ahead - a critical hearing in the sex abuse case against comedian bill cosby. today, a judge will decide whether some of his past accusers are allowed to confront him in court. last year, cosby was indicted in connection with a 2004 encounter in a philadelphia suburb. in a typical trial, only the accuser of the crime in question may testify. but for prosecutors - the case against cosby hinges on accusations from more than a dozen women who accuse him of a similar pattern of sexual abuse. a new law in montgomery county is designed

they say carjacked a woman while she was unloading her groceries. it happened around 6:30 sunday night on western avenue in the chevy chase neighborhood. the victim says a group of four or five young men came up to her, pointed a gun and demanded the keys to her car. she handed them over and the suspects took off. police are looking for a blue 2014 hyundai santa fe with d-c tags "e-n-11-90". d-c police are looking into whether that carjacking is tied to a shooting a few hours later - just blocks away. we first told you about this as breaking news yesterday on good morning washington. grand dos-un-mu was found shot in a car on 32nd street northwest. police believe the suspect was a passenger in the car. the justice department is filing a lawsuit against culpeper county. the department accuses the county of violating federal law by blocking the islamic center of culpeper from building a mosque. the lawsuit claims county leaders discriminated against the i-c-c

to grant the organization a sewage permit. board of supervisors representative bill chase told us by phone, the decision has nothing to do with religion. the complaint alleges, since 1992, the county has considered 26 applications. and it's never denied a pump and haul permit for commercial or religious use. a pump and haul system does not treat or dispose of waste, but collects it for periodic removal. covering metro, today, u.s. senator and former vice presidential nominee tim kaine will ride on metro's silver line. he'll tour construction of phase two, which will provide a transfer-free ride between downtown washington and dulles airport. and he'll receive a briefing from the metropolitan washington airports authority. as governor of virginia, kaine secured 900-million dollars in funding for phase one of the silver line.
