breaking news in alexandria.. a delivery man robbed and attacked overnight. it happened around ten last night on century place, right across the street from the landmark mall. police say two suspects assaulted the man.. stole food and then took off. police have not

information about a lookout for those suspects. we'll update you as we learn more. right now activists are gearing up for president trump's arrival in philadelphia today. on facebook, more than 3,000 said they will attend a protest planned for this morning. last night, another protest was held in the city. more than a thousand l-g-b-t-q activists danced and chanted outside the loews hotel in center city. except for some minor fence-pushing, police say the gathering was peaceful. mister trump is set to speak at the gop's annual congressional retreat at the hotel later today. and here in the district - a high-flying protest, finally coming to an end. we brought you live coverage yesterday on good morning washington as a group of protesters climbed to the top of a construction crane near the white house... staying for more than sixteen hours! john gonzalez is live in northwest d-c with more... john?

us/mexico border. in a speech to the nation last night, mexican president enrique pena nieto said his country will not pay for any wall - defying claims made by the president. yesterday, mister trump signed executive documents ordering construction to begin immediately. the order came on the same day mexican diplomats arrived for talks. the mexican

washington state. come take a look at your screen. crews say the flames started late last night and burned for hours. at one point, part of the structure collapsed under the intense heat. at least two nearby apartment complexes have been evacuted. two firefighters are being treated for non-life threatening injuries. no word yet on what started the fire or if anyone was injured.

a robbery at a local cvs detectives tell us that just before 3am someone robbed the cvs in the 69-hundred block do arlington road in bethesda thats the one right off of wisconsin avenue, not too far from bethesda row we're told the robber was armed...and got away with a bag full of money people searched that area..including the capital crescent trail.. but didn't find anyone a cvs employee got a minor scratch to the face during the robbery..but everyone else is okay. if you k now anything, call montgomery county police also breaking overnight - a stabbing northeast. police found a man with a wound near the intersection of eastern avenue at "jay" street. his injuries are "not" life threatening. the suspect ran away - and is described as having on a red jacket and blue jeans. right now -- police are trying to figure out what caused an explosion and fire at a d-c police department evidence warehouse. this is video just before a haz-mat team went into the building to investigate. not many details from police yet, but they do say a fire state

caused an explosion in the building. a good update this morning to the story a virginia beach mom who disappeared with her two children over the weekend. 29-year-old monica lamping and her seven-year-old and nine-month-old have been found safe. they had been missing since saturday. police won't say much about how they found lamping or why she disappeared -- but say she left on her own, and was found in a state bordering virginia this morning. new this morning - president trump facing another lawsuit. an electrical contractor who worked on the trump international hotel here in d-c has sued a company owned by the president. the lawsuit alleges a-e-s electrical of laurel was not fully paid. the suit filed last week in d-c is asking for more than two million dollars. signs from saturday's women's marches around the world are being saved for the history books. more than a million people rallied at dozens of demonstrations to support women's rights and protest donald trump. many carried homemade signs tha

hopeful and hilarious. while crews were cleaning up on the national mall - the national musuem of american history collected some up. other musuems are also accepting donated signs. another "march on washington" is planned for tomorrow. this time, it's the anti-abortion "march for life." in previous years, the group has drawn an estimated 250-thousand people to the national mall. it starts at noon on friday. metro said today it will add additional trains in the midday to accomodate the expected crowds. all trackwork will also be postponed. look for our coverage tomorrow morning starting at 4:24am, coming up - the dc metro mostly dry right now - but that rain is heading our way. a new round of showers - less than an hour away. veronica johnson is timing it all out, next.
