posted to twitter showed at least three people being taken away in handcuffs by deputies.. and others crowding the ticket counters. spirit is blaming it's pilots - claiming they are refusing to fly to influence the outcome of labor negotiations. the airline has filed a federal lawsuit. in a statement overnight the airline said quote "we are disappointed that alpa has decided to engage in this unlawful slowdown. this has led to canceled flights and prevented our customers from taking their planned travel" if you're flying spirit today - call ahead to check on any delays. happening right now now.. a big test for another airline. southwest is rolling out a critical part of it's new reservation system this morning. for the first time - the airline will begin using the new system for daily flight operations - including passenger check in. the airline is

new developments affecting air travelers.. the u.s. could soon extend its electronics ban to flights to and from europe. homeland security officials are now weighing the advantages of expanding the ban against possible disruptions it would cause. the current ban affects flights from several airports in the middle east. and it prevents passengers from taking any electronics larger than a smartphone onto a plane as a carry-on. a new filing - in that lawsuit involving transgender use of bathrooms. lawyers for gavin grimm are arguing his case is still relevant- even though he's about to graduate from his high school in gloucester county, virginia. the supreme court was supposed to hear grimm's case earlier this year- but the justices sent it back to a lower court. seven is on your side with a consumer alert about a new recall overnight. california health officials say a tea made from deer antler sickened two people in orange county. they believe it may be contaminated with botulism. the tea was sold to

caught on camera breaking overnight - chaos at the fort lauderdale airport. spirit airlines - cancelling at least nine flights - leaving hundreds of passengers stranded. cellphone video shows angry flyers crowding the ticket counters. security officers were called in and a number of passengers were detained. spirit says the slowdown was caused by an issue with its pilots the union and the airline are now involved in a legal battle over a labor dispute. and happening now - a crucial test for another airline. southwest - rolling out a major upgrade right this minute. and this morning - the airline has a warning those first flyers this morning.. q mccray is live at reagan airport - q? .

this morning police are focusing on one man. sam sweeney at the live desk with this story. larry, synagogue members inside smelled smoke... thought it was a trash can outside... but then quickly realzied a car was on fire. take a look at the video. police say arsonist first went into the synagogues bathroom... they have video of that. then he left, and stuck something under this white cars hood. flames erupted. the suspect took off, but came back about 10 minutes later to take pictures... which is actually pretty common in arson cases.. however, this morning he is still on the run. at the live desk ss abc 7 news. happening right now- a search for the person for who left anti-semitic graffiti on the georgetown campus. it was fnd

near a jewish gathering space. the university says it condemns the act of hate- and is asking anyone with information to come forward. a local taxi driver is being held without bond, after allegedly abducting three female passengers. police say the women hailed the cab in d.c. early saturday morning.. and they got into an argument with muzemil awel over a 30 mile fare. they said they couldn't pay what he said they owed. police say awel locked the doors, and drove away with them inside. the women were eventually able to unlock a door and jump from the moving vehicle. awel was arrested in woodbridge. he's expected in court on july 13th. happening today.. an opioid summit in maryland. maryland and virginia's governor's will be there. so will d.c mayor muriel bowser. the summit will be an opportunity for hundreds of policymakers to share information about how to combat the growing epidemic. some bad news for several local people. scientits say re-examinations of several negative zika tests have found three

fact -- test postive for the virus. as we first reported in february, two pregnant women thought they were negative... but were latrer then told they did have zika. that re-testing came after botched results from the d-c public health lab -- because of mistakes in the formula and calculations by lab workers. a total of 423 samples had to be retested by other public health labs and the centers for disease control and prevention. 26 patients are still left with inconclusive results. the d-c department of forensic sciences says it has informed all providers of their test results. must-see video this morning.. a woman- rescued through the sunroof of her dangling b-m-w in houston. she told police she accidentally shifted into drive when she was parking. she wasn't seriously hurt. new this morning. jimmy kimmel returns to the late night stage with an update on his son's condition just one week after revealing he was born with a heart defect. but kimmel als
