down after president trump slams his predecessor over russian meddling in the election. in several tweets, president trump says the obama administration learned of russia's cyber attacks and did nothing. he also accuses the former president of collusion and obstruction for political reasons. president trump has previously questioned whether russia was behind any campaign related hacks at all. but monday-- in a briefing where cameras were not allowed, the white house backed off those claims. it's unclear if the white house intends to take any action to punish the kremlin or to strengthen u-s electoral defenses. right now-- a special council looks into russian hacking and possible collusion with the trump campaign. two d-c fire officials are thankful they were in the right place, at the right time-- to rescue a 2 year old boy trapped inside a hot car. it happened at a home depot in northeast. officials say the men were buying equipment when employees paged them
a toddler inside a car, with temperatures nearing 90 degrees. and when the knocked on the window-- they got very worried when the child didn't respond. the fire investigators used a baton to shatter the window and pull the boy to safety. the boy's father arrived several minutes later and was arrested. he's charged with first degree cruelty to children. in new orleans. police have arrested one of the men suspected in a brutal attack on a pair of tourists. the men from boston were walking back to their hotel saturday night when the attack happened. they robbed the victims and took off. one of the victims is still in critical condition -- the other has been released. police say there is more surveillance video of the attack. happening today... accused nsa document leaker reality winner heads back to federal court. winner's lawyer describes today's hearing, in georgia, as a "status conference." winner was arrested earlier this month for mailing secret documents to a news organization. those documents revealed rus
u-s voting software before the 20-16 presidential election. we are learning more about the collision that claimed the lives of several sailors on the u-s-s fitzgerald. now the captain of the other ship-- says the navy crew is at fault. the container ship captain says the navy destroyer did not respond to warning signals or take evasive action in the early hours of june 17th. seven sleeping sailors died and three others were hurt. the navy is not commenting on the crash, as the investigation continues. it's unclear if the container ship, which made several course changes before impact, was on auto-pilot at the time of the crash. after 82 games in the nba season-- only one player could be the league mvp. and this year-- that honor goes to russell westbrook. this was not a surprise. the oklahoma city point guard made history this season-- becoming the first player since oscar robinson to average a triple double for the entire season. he also broke robertson's record for most triple-doubles in a season with 42. afterwards-- the famously "intense" nba star, became emotional as he

wildfires are raging in the western u.s. at least 21 large fires are burning in seven states. in arizona, more than 15-hundred people have been forced to evacuate. in utah, 11-hundred firefighters are on hand, bringing in planes and helicopters to battle the flames. firefighters are dealing with walls of flames, 100 feet high! the sizzling heat and strong winds are making their job difficult.
after crashing off a cliff in essex county, new jersey. police say he lost control of his bike at a county park in cedar grove yesterday. he ended up tumbling 20 feet down. rescue crews rappelled down the cliff. they found the 49-year-old man dead at the scene. police say there were no signs warning about the steep drop. and they say the crash appears to be completely accidental. the creator and star of the musical, "hamilton" is kicking off a contest. lin-manuel miranda says for a 10 dollar donation, you'll be entered to win two v-i-p tickets. they're for "hamilton's" opening night in los angeles.. and a star-studded after party. money from the contest will benefit a coalition called "immigrants: we get the job done." miranda is also encouraging fans to post videos of themselves singing their favorite "hamilton" songs.. with the hashtag, "ham-4-all." at xx time for weather. toss to eileen - more clouds than sun;
