is now on it's way to the senate. and this one has strong support from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle. lawmakers agreed to impose sanctions not only on russia -- but also north korea and iran for what they call

behavior. the message for russia though -- this was in response to election meddling as well. the bill also gives congress the power to block the president's ability to veto or undo these sanctions. the final vote -- 419-3. right now-- police are looking for the man behind a kidnapping and robbery in a busy section of northwest. take a look at this picture. police say this man kidnapped another man at knifepoint last week along the 1700 block of 13th street northwest. the suspect reportedly forced the victim to drive to an atm where he was able to pull out an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing. but in the process was caught on camera. if you recognize the man in this picture-- you are asked to call police immediately. in arlington-- a homeowner gets the scare of his life when he finds out that a stranger was living in his attic! police responded after the homeowner heard footsteps in the attic, and called 9-1-1. when officers got there -- they found anthony jones hiding out! he's been charged with unlawful entry and is being held without bail.

anti-muslim crimes are on the rise. that's the word from the council on american-islamic relations, or cair. it says in the first half of this year, anti-muslim hate crimes rose 91-percent, compared to the same period last year. and it says in montgomery county, the number of hate incidents jumped by more than 42-percent in 20-16. the most recent example is jeffrey frissel . police say he admitted to egging his muslim neighbors' pickup truck, and calling them an "infestation of cockroaches." cair wants more community members to speak out against such attacks. an update now on a story we told you about yesterday. a local football standout -- cut from the cowboys -- after a warrant was issued for his arrest. well it turns out -- it was a mixup -- and is not the man police are looking for!! last month- a man arreste

woodbridge, told police he was rodney "lucky" whitehead- and gave a birth date and a social security number. he was given a citation - but skipped his court date. turns out -- that man was not lucky whitehead! still - the cowboys got wind of it -- and released lucky whitehead -- despite his denial - and his ability to prove that he wasn't even in virginia that day! after a little more investigation-- police realized what happened and rescinded the warrant for whitehead's arrest. however-- his agent says his client is still out of a job because both police and the cowboys rushed to judgement. no word though- on how the other guy got whitehead's information. police are still looking for him. coming up-- a high speed crash caught on tape. who police are blaming for the impact. plus, new details about the cause of a fatal metro derailment in new york. but some big questions remain unanswered. we will break down the federal report-- coming up.

an indictment is expected to be unsealed against the mayor of allentown, pennsylvania. mayor ed pawlowski is charged in federal court in a pay-to-play scheme. the three-term democrat is accused in a plot to exchange city contracts for campaign contributions. nine others who faced charges have all pleaded guilty. pawlowski maintains his innocence and says he will seek a fourth term, despite the f-b-i probe. talk about a big catch--- a group of fisherman in new jersey are responsible for

almost 1-thousand pound shark. 7-people combined to reel in this 12-foot shark. the shark was so big in fact , it took the group more than a hour and a-half to reel it in. after they hooked it-- they brought out the scale and could not believe their eyes. unfortunately, because more than one-person reeled it in... this 926 pound shark won't count as the biggest shark ever caught off the coast of new jersey. the current state record is a 856-pounder caught in 1994. as for the shark-- it won't go to waste. it has been filleted into almost 400 pounds of meat. at xx time for weather. toss to eileen
