this one starting with an armed robbery at the cvs -- in tenleytown. police say two guys robbed the store at gunpoint, and then sped off. they got on massachusetts avenue, and bailed from their car just after the naval observatory. abc7 cameras were there, capturing that manhunt. this is in the neighborhood right across the street from the italian embassy. we know one guy has been caught. the other one though -- he was wearing dark clothing, and police found the clothes but not him. he's on the loose right now, and they

eleven to learn two simple moves to escape. happening today, the fairfax county school board will vote on a new name for jeb stuart high school in falls church. several names are being proposed, including "justice," "peace valley," and "stuart" without the jeb part. you can weigh in by going to wjla-vote-now. the school board voted in july to change the name. some people were upset that the school is named after a confederate general. others say the name change is a financially wasteful attempt at erasing history. the meeting begins at seven p.m., and there will be a public comment period. breaking overnight - two firefights just feet away from dodger stadium. take a look at this.. massive flames pouring from the roof an apartment building during the eigth inning. amazingly crews were able to put it out within 20 minutes. and before that - another fire. crews responded to a grass fire on stadium way. no one was injured in either incident.

statistics show crime is decreasing in d.c.. but one councilman says he's not seeing less violence in his community. trayon white represents ward eight. he says he's responded to a shooting there almost every day in the past week. one shooting happened at bruce place southeast. a woman says she heard about 35 shots tuesday night. no one was injured it that incident.. but other recent shootings have been deadly. crime statistics show, the number of homicides in ward eight is the same as show, the number of homicides in ward eight is the same as this time last year. but white says a lot of people are still getting shot. he's calling for a meeting with community leaders to discuss a plan of action. new toll lanes open on i-66 in less than two months.. and transportation officials are warning drivers.. they'll need an e-z pass.. or e-z pass flex during expanded rush-hour periods. about half the drivers using i-66
