nice conditions over on i-4, moving you easily past church street. eastbound and westbound, not going to have any significant slowdowns. take a look at your drive times. looks like the expressway, 417, you are just on time for the time being, enjoy it while you can. that's your check on traffic. >> a wanted mother from georgia was booked into the marion county jail. >> this morning, there are growing concerns about what may have happened to one of her children that was found dead. johnny is following the overnight developments. what do we know? >> this is a mug shot of claire garrison. authorities in georgia put out the alert for garrison and three of her kids. police thought garrison may have been traveling to ocala because her family lives here.

area of 47 terrace in ocala. reports from georgia are emerging that garrison is the mother of a 24-year-old found dead in a home, 250 miles away. authorities in georgia say that the child had been dead for at least a couple of day and was heading head head hidden inside the family home. we don't know if there are possible charges. her three other kids are in the care of dcf. once we get new information, we'll let you know. >> developing this thursday morning, patrols on one part of volusia county. this is because a 9-year-old boy said a man tried to lure him to his house. that boy was on west target avenue yesterday when this all happened. that is not far from edge paste water schools. police have a pretty good

what is the latest? >> detectives say they are working on a composite sketch and hope to have that out this morning. for parents we have spoken with. they say that can't come soon enough after a boy was nearly abducted along this street on his way to school. >> it has always been safe. >> concerns for an area around a school on friday. >> i would think i should feel safe next to the school. >> investigators say the boy was riding his bike when the stranger walked up and asked the child if he wanted to come to his house. frightened, the boy ran back home. >> i would tell kids that age not to talk to strangers for one. you never know who you'll run into, obviously, even close to the school. >> police are searching for the man who try to abduct the child.

with black hair and a long black goatee. he was wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts and tennis shoes and sunglasses. police are stepping up patrols in the area. we have not seen any patrols as of yet. so far this morning. as of right now now, it is unknown if the man lives in the area. i did a search of registered sex offenders in the area. i'll let you know what i found in my next report at 6:30. >> extra deputies on the campus for flagler county high school after a student reported seeing another student with a gun. the high school in palm coast was put on lockdown while crews searched that school. nothing was found. deputies say they are taking the sighting seriously. the school released a statement saying, our campus is safe and

students who will speak up. >> firefighters all night long watching for flare-ups. it is after a brush fire damages four homes. these are live pictures you are looking at from the scene in palm bay. that fire has been burning right in the middle of a neighborhood in and around san felippo. look at what firefighters and crews had to deal with. that is when 45 acres burned in a few quick hours. one home was left with a giant hole in its roof after embers from the fire landed on top of it. didn't help. >> wind gusts, low humidity wildfire. >> the perfect recipe. >> the perfect recipe. it could have blown out. >> let's get back to some of those live pictures.

stage in miami. trash haulers could face thousands of dollars in fines if they miss a pickup. it is a story we have been following since the beginning of the year when a new automated trash system was rolled out and then racked up hundreds of complaints. the haulers could face fines of up to $5,000 a day for failing to complete their routes. operators fielded roughly 4500 calls in january for missed pickups and about 2500 in february officials originally blamed a learning curve but now they say the number of missed routes is unacceptable. >> a smelly situation there for those neighbors. >> here's how it looks for rainfall totals. only 10 days into the month of march and we are nearly an inch

accused of killing another man in a work place shooting is expected to make his first appearance before a judge. >> it is all as workers try to make sense of what happened. joshua said when he got to work at bnl landscaping, he came face to face with a coworker with a bat. coworkers were screaming that he had just killed someone. he held him at gun point until police arrived at the scene. >> he was odd. he had problems with everybody. remember how i told you it was a family. that was the one that didn't quite fall into the family. >> cameras caught this man, take a good look, being taken away after the shooting. detectives haven't released the victim. spiert airlines flight. camera. take a look, this cell phone

group of women on this plane. you can see there are quite a few of them. witnesses say it started after passengers got angry that music was being played too loudly. the fight didn't last long, once it was announced police were called, that's when everything calmed down. no one was seriously hurt. one person was cited for the fight. >> after a family was tied up and robbed inside their home and four people have been arrested and charged with the crime. three men and one woman facing several felony charges including armed home invasion, kid dmapg and carjacking. it is a story we brought you in january when these four suspects forced their way inside the home. investigators say they tied up a girl and her mother's boyfriend, ransacked the place and kidnapped the woman's boyfriend. he was found tied up a few miles away. news of the home invasion left neighbors very concerned. >> we all just generally feel

happened to us? because it is so close to us. it is unsettling. >> three of the four suspects are being held without bond. >> the controversial bill adding new restrictions on abortion and planned parenthood is now on the governor's desk. the bill prohibits state money from going to an organization that also provides elective abortions, just like planned parenthood. it requires doctors who perform abortions to have hospital add mining privileges or a patient transfer agreement. it redefines dates of tri-musters when abortions can be performed. backers say it is aimed at protecting women's hel. opponents say it is an unconstitutional attempt to block women's rights. >> a major road overhaul will include a bike lane. a $7 million expansion will include a 10 foot wide bike lane

danger after media reported garrison's other child, a 2-year-old, was found dead. garrison was found traveling to a relative's house. we'll bring you any new updates on air and online at clickorlando.com, powered by news 6. >> also breaking overnight, another mass shooting in the united states, this time in pennsylvania pennsylvania. pennsylvania. johnny, police say the gunmen are still on the run. what is the latest? >> police in pennsylvania are looking for two againmen after they say more than 30 shots were fired at a party in a suburb outside pittsburgh. this is video in from the scene. police say when they arrived to the house, they found four people dead in the back porch. one person was transport to the hospital and later died there. we have learned four of the victims were a woman and one was a man.

different guns were used in the attack. the violence has left people living nearby stunned. >> this street is quiet. street. it is probably shocking to everyone else up here. >> at this point, the victims have not been identified. the investigation is ongoing. of course, once we get new information, we'll bring it to you guys on air and online. crews in brevard county keeping a close eye on this, a big brush fire that left dozens of acres charred and four homes damaged. forestry workers think the fire started in a structure and spread to the brush in a drive. we have been watching as crews there have spent hours watching

that left 45 acres burned. one home did end up with a large hole in its roof because of that fire. at one point, nearly 100 others were threatened, leaving people who live nearby extremely worried. >> what happened? >> i don't know. i received a phone call this afternoon from a friend and they said, your house is on fire. >> just not a phone call anybody wants to hear. back to live pictures. crews say no one was hurt and that fire is now 100% contained. we'll let you know as soon as we get any new information. >> increased patrols in one part of volusia county after a child is nearly kidnapped while riding his bike to school. it happened south of edgewater school. police say a man approached the boy and tried to get him to his house. news of this abduction has plenty of parents concerned.

o'neal hopes it was just a misunderstanding. >> it could have been somebody trying to ask a kid something and the kid might have taken it wrong. >> i did a search and found 28 registered sex offender within a two mile radius of the school. as patrols are spreesed here along the street. i'll be asking police if they will be questioning any of the men on this list in connection with this investigation. >> meanwhile, deputies in polk county have also stepped up their patrols after another abduction scare, this one involves an 11-year-old girl. detectives say a man matching this sketch pulled up to the gill after she got off the school bus on thousand oaks boulevard west of u.s. 17/92 in davenport. the man said her mother was in the hospital and he was sent to get her. the girl said the man was driving a white sedan with tinted windows.

of being drunk while teaching second grader is out of jail. 52-year-old holly joel was arrested near rhineheart school yesterday. police say when they arrested her, they found a water bottle pilled with alcohol in her purse with prescription pills. according to records, joel was arrested for dui in 2012, two years before she was hired as a sub. according to the school district leaders, a misdemeanor dui does not disqualify a sub for employment. >> less than five months after the state first bear hupt and one county is considering banning it. commissioners say the hunt did little to reduce the number of nuisance bears. officials say out of the more than 300 bears killed during last year's hunt, only four of them were in seminole county. however, officials with the florida fish and wild life commission say state law

>> >> all this happened in front of his teenaged son. detectives say the undercover officer whose name hasn't been released was shot three times yesterday morning after pulling over a car that was driving erratically. the officer was shot in the head. head, upper body and in the hand. he was shot after a chase with other officers near his home. >> i know he is in so much trouble but please, he is not this cop murderer, i swear to god he is not. unfortunately, this happened. >> that officer who was shot was just driving his teenaged son to

even though the bullets you saw earlier went through the officer's car, the son was not hurt. >> new this morning, a former orange county teacher will now spend the next two dozen years behind bars after being sentenced on charges he tried to lure a teen to have sex. greg vaughn was arrested after a woman discovered her daughter was having sexually conversations with that teacher. he also got the teen to send him images of child pornography. he was sentenced to 27 years in prison. >> thousands of mourners will pay their respects to first lady nancy reagan. a bit more than 3,000 people filed past her casket yesterday. many of them left behind cards and letters, thanking her for the work she did for the country, during and after her husband's presidency. you might remember reagan died at her home on sunday at the age

within the last few hours after being tracked down in ocala. an amber alert had been issued for clarion garrison and three of her kids after three kids say a fourth child was found dead in a home there. garrison was going to visit florida. her other three kids are ok and now are in the care of dcf. >> meanwhile, parents in volusia county are on high alert this thursday morning. mark lehman is live in edgewater. what is going on? >> police have promised stepped up patrols. it comes after a 9-year-old boy said a man tried to abduct him. he was riding his bike near edgewater school when the man approached him and tried to get him to go to his house. we are expecting to get a composite sketch of the suspect later today. as soon as we do, we'll post it on clickorlando.com. >> we are live in palm bay where firefighters are watching out
