3 it's president's day.. so keep in mind there are changes to public services.trash, recycling, and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day all week.the post office is closed today.. so there's no mail delivery.metro buses will be on their normal schedule.florence is celebrating president's day at the city's government center. from nine to four, you can see displays of our nation's leaders, and take part in some trivia. 3 a northern kentucky town is devastated after a fire.the

store burned to the ground. firefighters now say it appears the fire was accidental...and as local 12's megan moore reports, it likely started from an old potbelly stove inside the store. . 3 "it's hard to see such a historic landmark that in its near 200 years withstood flood after flood here along the river...but burned to the ground overnight."the fire started around 9 saturday night. five fire departments worked to put it out. we are told nobody was injured...but today seeing the building in shambles is painful. "its just so surreal. i just i dont know lot of memories, lot of memories."beautiful memories come back to ruby whose daughter had her wedding here. "they lived here all their life so that couldve been it you know and they didnt want to go to a church or go to somewhere big so they just wanted to make it personal and

for information that can help police find a missing woman from pendleton county. 31-year old tara turner has not been seen in about two weeks.she's from falmouth.now her family is offering a 10-thousand dollar reward for her safe return.. or the arrest and conviction of anyone connected to her disappearance.if you know anything about where turner might be... you are asked to call pendleton county dispatch at 859-654-3300. 3 local rescuers want to make sure your family is ready.. in case of disaster..the delhi township fire department is hosting free emergency preparedness training tonight. it's from seven to nine at fire headquarters on need road. the training will be split into two parts.the first hour will cover the essentials of preparedness.. and the second hour will include information on emergency response. 3 time is running out if you haven't registered to vote in ohio's upcoming presidential primary ...the deadline to register for the march 15th primary is tomorrow.you can find a link to the registration form at local12-dot-com, or at county

break two3 the body of the late supreme court justice - antonin scalia - is being transported back to the washington area today. yesterday - a justice of the peace determined the 79-year- old died of natural causes, after he suddenly passed away during a hunting trip to texas. don champion has the latest from washington. 3 -nats- a white hearse carried the body of antonin scalia to a west texas airport sunday...bound for virginia at the request of his family. the 79-year-old supreme court justice passed away suddenly over the weekend while vacationing at this resort

(ad lib) 3 a teenager from out of town made sure valentine's day was special for patients at children's hospital ... savannah day had brain surgery at children's in 2013. while she was recovering, savannah and her family organized a toy drive to cheer up the children who had to spend their holidays at the hospital. her organization 'cheer for savannah' has held several toy drives since then and collected more than 12- thousand toys. savannah says she wants to help bring joy to children in the hospital... because she knows first hand how tough it is. 3 savannah day: "it meant a lot

in the mail and little things because when you're sitting in the hospital for weeks at a time you have nothing to do, which is not very fun at all." about 15- hundred toys were delivered to patients yesterday. the ben-gal cheerleaders also presented a check for 71- hundred dollars for the next "cheer for savannah" project... a playground at children's hospital. 3 in other news ...some students in washington state didn't let a scary moment ruin their day of skiing ...the high school kids were on their way to a resort this weekend, when a mechanical problem caused their bus to burst into flames. they all got out without being hurt.. and within minutes, the kids were ready to hit the slopes.the mountain offered free lunch and gear for the students who lost their ski supplies in the flames. 3 anything we could do to help accomodate them, have a better day, a good day here on the mountain, is certainly what we're all about.investigators think the fire may have been started by an oil leak.. but they're still looking into it.

skiers also went through some tense moments in new hampshire this weekend ...dozens of people had to be rescued after two tram cars got stuck ... 40 feet above the ground.it was caused by a problem with the service brakes.crews later repelled 48 passengers to the ground, one by one.one woman described the situation as harrowing, but said all the passengers stayed calm throughout the ordeal.no one was hurt. 3 winter weather is causing all sorts of problems in the eastern u-s.in indiana, a highway north of indianapolis was shut down due to accidents involving at least 40 to 50 cars.at least ten people were taken to nearby hospitals. meanwhile, washington d-c and virginia are bracing for up to several inches of snow today. and western pennsylvania and new york could get up to eight inches. 3 now here's bob with a local 12 traffic alert. 3
