governor mccrory also focusing on rebuilding. he plans to appoint a a 'hurricane recovery task force'.. focused on helping people.. and putting together a long-term plan on 'how' and 'where' to rebuild -- and the best ways to spend the money. and 'several' school districts -- 'continue' adjusting schedules -- because of 'matthew'. 'cumberland county' -- will operate a 2-hour delay -- 'again' tomorrow. johnston county... 'also' on a 2-hour delay. edgecombe county... sampson county... and wayne county schools -- are all 'closed' tomorrow. tonight - at least still waiting to go back home. the neuse river is expected to drop out of a major flood stage by wednesday afternoon....but that gives little assurance to the people who still don't know if they have anything to go back to. meanwhile, a countywide curfew remains in effect from nine p-m until seven a- m. angelica alvarez has more from the kinston flood zone. here at one of two shelters in kinston... just to give you an idea of how tough it is out here... this shelter... you can get to by car...

college... we were told you can only get there by military escort. ---------take pkg---------- william fleming 18:45:48 "35 years." more than three decades here on shine street for william fleming... and he says since last week... it's been a little quieter around here. william fleming kinston resident 18:48:07 "it got probably 7 feet of water behind my house." water... seven feet deept...behind his home.. but even though he still doesn't have power... no water made it inside his home. he points to his neighbors.... who weren't as lucky. he says the home right across the street is now empty. fleming 18:46:52 "it flood up about 2 feet inside." we're told at least 200 residents throughout kinston are in the rising flood waters pushed them out of their homes. the nuese river... cresting at more than 28 feet. this view from chopper 11 hd showing the extent of the flooding. and just hours ago... we were able to get this ground view with the national guard... as they showed us highway 70... one of several major roads still

businesses surrounded by flooding... even military vehicles still trapped. guard no name 16:14:30 "the crew that was in that vehicle came across some deep water, that was rising steadily, they had to abandon the vehicles." in a news conference... emergency officials.... say at this time... they estimate more than 800 homes may be flooded out....along with more than 170 commercial properties. again... this is only an estimate... as they wait for the water to recede to get a closer look at the while they wait for that... many residents... like fleming... still drying out.... are also anxious to have power again. fleming 18:48:37 "if they cut it on tomorrow, it'll be beautiful." ---------on cam-------- looking at duke energy's outage map... power outages don't seem as widespread so hopefully fleming will get it back soon. as far as the dollar amount of damage here... again emergency officials can only estimate.... but right now they're thinking it may be up to 125 million dollars.

faytteville -- are 'still struggling' -- to 'clean-up' from historic flooding. people on "sessoms street" -- are hurting. at the 'height' of matthew... 'water rescue crews' -- were evacuating neighbors -- from 'rising' flood water. the street is now 'littered' with storm debris.... trash cans.... and water-logged furniture. neighbors say -- they can't even 'think' -- about "starting over" -- because their 'work'... is 'just beginning'.

fayetteville neighborhood -- because it's "flood-related"... 'not' storm- related. the national guard tonight.. draining water out of princeville. six pumps have been running all weekend.. and they are still running at this hour.. pumping some 1- point-6 million gallons of water per hour. in nearby tarboro.. a slightly better situation.. in fact, some flood victims are able to return to their homes. back across the bridge in princeville.. a timeline on when residents can return remains unknown tonight. the edgecombe county manager.. asking victims to remain patient. 11 together"... is 'launching' a special 'hurricane relief food drive'.. it's 'our way' -- of 'helping' the 'flood victims'. you've seen -- many of them "lost everything". the 'food drive' kicks-off at six a- m... and runs 'all day' until seven p-m. we have 'five' -- 'drop-off' locations... our 'durham studio'... at 411 liberty street. 'two' locations in raleigh... including our "downtown raleigh studio" -- at 319 fayetteville street... ...and the "food bank of central and eastern north carolina"... on tarheel drive. and in fayetteville... you can drop-off food at our 'newsroom' on '201 hay street'. also... the "second harvest

you can find 'all' the details -- at abc 11 dot com. tonight -- police are 'searching' for an 'arsonist' -- in what 'looks like' -- an attempt to 'burn down' -- the "orange county republican party" office. the fire went out on its own -- and the damage wasn't discovered until a call for help sunday morning. joel brown is live in hillsborough -- at the scene of the attack. joel? governor mccrory, today, questioned why it took hillsborough police several hours to release information publicly about the firebombing... hillsborough's police chief taking the unusual step of releasing this q&a news release... calling the crime, the sole focus of his department, right now... insisting the response time was immediate. after getting a glimpse of the burned out building... governor mccrory could not tell us who was to blame-- but he seemed certain about the type of person.

'new details' about a 'fire' -- that 'damaged' a durham home. we brought it to you -- as "breaking" news -- at four o'clock. firefighters responding to the home on'manford drive' this afternoon. flames... and heavy smoke -- were pouring from the home -- in "hope valley". fire investigators say -- an "overloaded outlet" in the garage -- start it took firefighters about an 'hour' -- to get the fire under control. no one was hurt. fresh video out of durham. a 'car' that smashed right through a fire house. this is 'station 14' on umstead road. that car -- crashing right into a bedroom and bathroom while firefighters were at the station. the driver ... injured... but 'not' badly. no one in the fire house was hurt. no word yet -- 'why' the driver crashed into the place. the cause remains under investigation. former

eight million dollars from the magazine -- for its portrayal of her in the 2014 story. she claims it portrayed her as the "chief villain." a '9-1-1 operator' -- accused of 'hanging up' -- on 'hundreds' of emergency calls -- making her 'first' court appearance. after getting a 'court appointed attorney' -- "crenshanda - williams" -- 'refused' to answer any questions -- about 'why' -- she allegedly "hung up" on people -- 'calling 9-1-1' for help -- in houston. prosecutors say -- they've 'looked at' 'two cases'... in 'one'-- the to report a 'store robbery' -- that resulted in the 'clerk' -- getting 'killed'. the 'other' -- the caller was trying to report "illegal street racing". now to the big board and the must-see video of the night. we begin in 'zimbabwe' -- where a "white rhino" -- named "mark" -- "stuck his nose in it". after 20 years in washington, we're learning lots about richard burr. first, he opposed a bill prohibiting insider trading by members of congress. now we learn burr had over $100,000 in oil and gas stocks while he backed legislatio giving tax credits benefitting gas companies. and oil and gas companies donated over half a million dollars to burr's campaigns. no wonder richard burr's wealth has increased over 500% since he's been in congress. that's making washington work for him.

"macy's" -- is opening 'even earlier' -- for 'thanksgiving day' shopping. despite other stores -- and even the mall of america being closed in an attempt to give

some business say being open on thanksgiving day is bad business. macy's will be open at five p-m until two a-m on thanksgiving day. then re-open at five a-m the next day.
