3 breaking overnight.. three winners will share the one point six billion dollar lottery jackpot. winning tickets were sold in callornia, florida and tennesee. nevada does not have a state lottery, so residents travel to a store just on the california side of the border for their tickets. 3 3 3 3 and while there were no big winners in north carolina... two tickets sold in the state matched all five of the white balls... with the power play. that means those ticket holders will win two million dollars each. so far... officials have not said where those two tickets were sold. reid binion has the latest on the jackpot winners. 3 3

3 happening 3 tonight... republican presidential hopefuls will meet for their first debate of the year in north charleston. news 13's lauren brigman joins us. lauren... this debate comes at a very critical time for the candidates. it is less than a month until the crucial iowa caucuses... and about five weeks until the south carolina primaries. 3 3 3 republican candidates will actually be divided into two separate debates at "the north charleston coliseum and performing arts center." the first starts at 6 ... and will feature carly fiorina, mike huckabee and rick santorum. the prime-time debate at 9 will include donald trump, ted cruz, marco rubio, ben carson,

kasich. both debates will be televised by fox business network. 3 democrats will also be debating in charleston on sunday. news 13 will have a crew at both debates... and will bring you complete coverage tonight and on wlos-dot-com. coming up in our next half hour.. the battle brewing between two of the top g-o-p candidates. 3 3 3 this morning... we are hearing from the widow of a vietnam teran who spent nearly six years as a prisoner of war. as we first told you yesterday... army staff sergeant "nat henry", from franklin, passed away earlier this week. after his release in 1973, henry returned to married, ran henry's greenhouses, and was an original member of the burningtown fire department. his widow says she'll keep him in her heart. 3 when he spent almost six years in prison and he come home, he put it behind him and had a good life. he had a good life up until god took him home. henry's funeral will be

home... followed by a burial with full military honors. 3 3 rutherford county authorities arrest a man for rolling back odometers. d-m-v investigators arrested 30-year-old mitchell padgett. he is charged with 15 counts of changing mileage, 13 counts of forgery and nine counts of notary fraud. the investigation began in december after a complaint filed by a catawba county man. after buying his truck, the man learned it had 80 thousand more miles. others in the area explain how they would feel if they had the same thing happen to them. 3 "i'd be pissed off. especially for the price, depending on the price. regardless i'd be mad about it. that's really low down." padfett is currently out of jail after posting a 140 ththsand dollar bond. 3 3 a pizza restaurant in charlotte is getting national attention--because of a bathroom sign. the owner of pure pizza posted a sign explaining the restroom is available for people in the l- g-b-t community. the post goes

is unstable and more boulders may fall on the road. 3 scary moments at a park in topeka, kansas when a child fell through ice on a frozen pond. the topeka fire department dispatched emergency crews to the pond and pulled the 13-year-old boy from frigid water. the young teen was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.. 3 3 3 3 usually you would throw out milk if it were green... but one dairy is making it that way to sell. we'll tell you why coming up a little later

presidential debate. it comes as tensions heat up between two of the candidates. news 13's lauren brigman joins us with the details. lauren? the battle between donald trump and ted cruz has turned into open attacks as poll numbers tighten. 3 3 3 (donald trump, (r) presidential candidate) "ted cruz is a problem. he's got a real problem." trump says that's because cruz was born in canada... though cruz's mother is a u-s citizen. on twitter... trump said "there is no way that ted cruz can continue running in the republican primary unless he can erase doubt on eligibility. dems will sue!" in response... cruz went beyond defending his u-s citizenship... to questioning trump's character. during a radio interview... cruz said trump has little in common with voters in iowa and new hampshire. 3 (voice of ted c cz, (r) presidential candidate) "well, look, i think he may shift in his new rallies to play 'new york, new york' because donald comes from new york and he embodies new york values." trump has narrowed the gap with cruz in the latest iowa poll... from 10 points one
