rivers, news 19 wltx. the city of columbia's 28th annual mlk celebration is also today. usc president will be the keynote speaker. it will include performances from logan elementary school and keenan high school. the event is being held at martin luther king, jr. park and community center over greenstreet and it kicks off at 4 o'clock. all city of columbia parking garages will be open to the public at no charge for the holiday today. you can see the eight garage is right here on your screen. in addition, street parking meters will also not be enforced today. if you are heading out to any of these events, bundle up, it is called. >> you are going to want to look like the michelin man because it is really cold out there right now. all the midland temperatures are in the 30s, some of us are under the freezing mark. 30 winnsboro, third a -- 30 bishopville.

something good for them. i am going to try to make sure they are happy, but them know it will be alright. it's just going to be magical. >> is a blessing that someone thought of us. >>reporter:in columbia, chuck ringwald, news 19 wltx. >> the elite youth group of south carolina has been mentoring kids across the state since 2001. richland county deputies are searching for the person who robbed a video store last night at gunpoint. it happened at the video express on two notch road around 11 p.m. when an employee could not open the safe, deputies say the suspect shot the victim in the lower body. the employee was able to retrieve a gun and that is when the suspect fled. if you have any information related to this case call crime stoppers at 888-crime-sc the search continues this morning for a sumter mother who has not been seen since friday night. she is 27-year-old davis. police and they responded to her home at writs of mobile

disturbance. and a five week own -- old alone, and unharmed. it is highly unlikely for her to leave her children ammo. butler, the menu see man you see right there on your screen he is wanted for questioning in question with this disappearance. investigators say davis has a history with butler. he also has not been seen since that call. we are told butler also has a violence. if you know anything call crime stoppers at 888-crime-sc. a child has died and several others are injured after a car crash in orangeburg county. it happened around 3:15 on sunday morning, troopers say it happened right outside the town of springfield. they say the driver of a nissan sedan was traveling with two children in the car which across the center line and hit a kia sedan. the driver and the four passages in the kia were taken to the hospital along with the driver the second child in the nissan. troopers were unsure if the two

incarcerated -- car seats at the time of the crash. also out of orangeburg county, fled is in -- investigating an officer involved shooting. posterior club on old number six highly -- highway insanity. investigators say someone shot at a deputy who was responding to a disturbance at that nightclub. the deputy who fired back was not her. they are not sure if the deputy hit anyone as the car sped away from the scene. this is the first officer involved shooting this year, last year there were 48 officer involved incidents in the state. lets meet our mom of the day, she is jamika gibson. she is a mother of one i was nominated by her mother, sharon noble, she tells us her daughter is a very kindhearted young woman. she goes above and beyond for her son christian, there is not a day that goes by that she does not tell her how much she loves her and how proud she is

this morning it will be held at the league's central high school cafeteria. the city of columbia's 28th annual martin luther king, jr. celebration is also today. usc presidents will be the keynote speaker. the celebration will include performances from logan elementary school and keenan high school. the event is being held at martin luther king, jr. park and community center over on green street. that program starts at 4 o'clock. all city of columbia parking garages will be open to the public at no charge for the holiday today. you can see those eight garages here on your screen. in addition, street parking meters will not be enforced today. democratic presidential hopefuls, hillary clinton, bernie sanders, and martin o'malley will be at the annual king day at the dome today. this year, the events focuses education equity, specifically making sure all schools are equipped to give students a chance to succeed. people taking part will march from zion baptist church to the
