it's gone from 2 to 3 for an accident investigate. this is starting to slow things down as more people get out there on the roads. keep an eye on this for you. if you are heading east on i-40 expect some delays. some other routes you can take 70 or you can take 54 around all of this. just to avoid that stop and go traffic. durham looks good and through fayetteville nothing like that there. heading west bright and early on this friday eve taking 540 from u.s. 64. 23 minutes there. u.s. 70 to rtp24 and u.s. 1 to rtp. about 16 minutes. another look at that crash. they continue to peace it all together. many of us are thrilled that football is back.
cbs north carolina reporter emma wright is live in raleigh with more on that. good morning, emma. >> reporter: good morning. as a lot of people know, it isn't exactly to get in and out of it. causes lots of traffic backups. right now the highway patrol is warning people that if you're out and about driving around like we are right now, anywhere near the stadium this aften if you don't need to be there because you're not going to the game you do want to avoid it. if you're headed to the game. highway patrol says you should take alternate routes to get to the stadium. traffic is backed up on the belt line, 440, wade avenue and edwards mill road. anyone who plans on heading to the game should arrive sooner rather than later. they say this afternoon the gates open at 2:30.
d.o.t. is already placing signs along the road that tend to be most congested warning drivers about tonight's game. >> some of the roads are very heavy. it's going to be wade avenue. trinity road, blue ridge road. if you don't need to come to the game, make other arrangements. >> all right. this is one of those now. it gettings real congested. coming up here, it's a little bit far away but you can see it's one of those signs flashing, telling drivers event 91. expect delays am bunch of this around the stadium area. coming up in our next half hour, at 6:00 we're going to tell you about a new rule that the stadium has about bringing things inside to the game.

all of areas shaded in green. this will be from friday morning into saturday morning. also including those few counties here in north carolina. now before all of that gets to us we have a cold front to talk about today. 72 degrees as we start off with a live picture a the international airport. temperature this morning are warm and muggy. 68 in heppedderson. 68 in clayton. 70 in louisburg and rocky mount. we will start to see those showers and storms develop for us. 92 our high. scattered showers and storps at 6:00 this evening. dry out the door this morning. dry at the lunch hour. we start to see these showers and storms pop up on the radar. here we are at 6:00. big game going down at 7:00 this evening and look at this rain could be moving across the area. take the poncho with you. lingering shower or storm can't be ruled out
