tv   Good Day New York  FOX  September 8, 2015 9:00am-10:00am EDT

9:00 am
rosanna: a lot of people using the cit, bikes. greg: not me. i do enjoy the hoover board. i call it the look at me board. because people look at you. rosanna: some people call it the swag board. greg: it is so cool. i was riding it yesterday shs actually. welcome back. the summer is done. rosanna: unofficially. greg: it was sweet. rosanna: it was a great summer, july and august the weather was
9:01 am
fantastic. greg: the summer seems to last forever. memorial day seems a long time ago. rosanna: it does. but i blinked it is over. as much as it is long, it wept by quickly. we have had a good summer together. greg: yes, we opened the city pools. they are closed today on this hundred degree day. rosanna: that was fun. that was the john j pool on the east side. greg: the high lights are the wipe outs. we got up on this thing. remarkable technology that enables you to fly. rosanna: there. mine is slow motion. it is like water skiing. your legs are supposed to be straight. nothing to hold on to.
9:02 am
greg: so rosanna was doing that. rosanna: you were up there for a long time. you were there until you masteredette. greg: yes, thank you. it was frustrating. you got me to the treatment. a booth that is freezing cold. rosanna: yes, it is below normal temperatures. zero. rosanna: it is helping the joints and revitalizing you. it is so good for you. greg: look at you dancing all nude in the booth. rosanna: she said it helps if you move around. greg: great adventure. we went on every roller coaster in the joint. that was definitely a highlight of the summer. rosanna: you liked that. were you stuck on the ride? greg: no. rosanna: i always hear about the
9:03 am
rides that are struck upside down on the top, see, this is why i don't do it. greg: you see a roller costar in nebraska broke for 45 minutes. it was awesome. six flags. oh, thank you for managing our softball team. you were terrific. rosanna: we lost but had a great time. greg: that was cool. there you are managing the team rather well. i wouldn't say you were terribly confident. rosanna: i saw franco over the weekend and i'm recruiting for the team next year and he's going down. greg: there is lou, your husband. good man. rosanna: yes. greg: we went to governor's island. it is a little gem. this is footage.
9:04 am
if you are in that place, you may be in the middle of america. the glorious skyline of manhattan. rosanna: it is pretty. you can bike ride, play miniature golf and swing on a hammock and you had food while there. greg: i left you on the island. rosanna: yes, you were still eating. greg: that is a quarter of a mile from month. it is great. rosanna: i'm not looking forward to winter. i just am not. the weather is so gorgeous chl the real fool today a hundred degrees. i'm not looking forward to this. greg: here it comes. that is hard to imagine it is in the future. it's coming. rosanna: please don't remind me. greg: the black and white making it harsher. it is a few months away. i heard your dog went swimming.
9:05 am
rosanna: yes, lulu swimming with my nephew. look at lulu. greg: he's digging the water? rosanna: he's doing the doggy paddle. look at her swim to me. we were afraid to put her in the water because of the allergies. greg: what is that kid? rosanna: my nephew. meanwhile, i'm reading about your father. i'm going to order this online. you are not going to give me one. greg: the thing is, if you buy it, it is helping the sales. rosanna: fine. i will buy it today.
9:06 am
greg: he's working on vigilance. reviews today in the post and the times and the buzz is quite positive. rosanna: it is interesting, he talks about the stop and frisk and whether it worked and why we are seeing a spike in the murders now. greg: here is in the new york times and profiled in wall street journal. i'm in it. he was a victim of crime at 8 years old, he was mugged in central park. rosanna: i didn't realize that. greg: he talks about that and his life, a veteran, harvard graduate. rosanna: right. get to the juzy stuff. he talks about mayor deblasio too. he shrugged and walked away from a police tool and murders are up and if you have a propensity to
9:07 am
carry a gun and a policy to de-emphasize stop and frisk, it is common sense you are going to see more people carrying gun and more crime. greg: i am biassed here. i highly recommend the book. rosanna: do you help his father here and there? greg: he knows what he's doing. he has two degrees, he went to harvard. rosanna: how much is it? >> greg: good question. depends on where you buy it and how you buy it. the e book is a little less. prices vary. enjoy it. rosanna: i like reading biographies. what page am i on? greg: page 280. rosanna: yeah, i'm going to read
9:08 am
it for sure. . greg: my father was about to endorse bloomberg in the fall of 2001, a lot of folks thought margearena was the one. rosanna: audrey, are you on board? audrey: i am. it sounds like a good read. i hear page 324 is interesting. rosanna: there you go. audrey: to the numbers, 90 degree readings, so far 18. for september, we have had 4 and on target for the 5th this afternoon. right now 79 central park. 79 montauk point. 80 in poughkeepsie. 73 sussex. 72 monticello. dew points are making it feel muggy out there. mostly in the 60s. we are going to stay that way
9:09 am
for tomorrow and dryer air is working in for the weekend and dropping the numbers to comfortable raetd readings. things are dry right now. high pressure is keeping us rain free for tuesday, on wednesday, we have a different story. this system out to the west igniting the showers and storms in the western great lakes through ohio, i'm sorry iowa into missouri, this is headed in our direction and giving us a chance of rain north and west of the city starting tomorrow afternoon. tomorrow we start with the sunshine and clouds are rolling in. the chances of showers increase north and west of the city. on thursday, you will need your umbrella. the widespread rain ignited across the region. we need that. we are in a little bit of a draught. if you are hoeded to us open, it is hot a one there. the temperatures rising up to
9:10 am
the 90s and lots of sunshine. 92 in central park. the record high is 93. so we are coming close or beating or meeting that. 89 tomorrow. 86 thursday. low 80s low humidity for the weekend. greg: thank you. wendy williams, truly the queen of the media. rosanna: back up and running fresh episodes. greg: queen of radio and morning tv, broadway, standup, books, a clothing line, the wigs. rosanna: she's taking over the world. she's got a new show on tv, but the wendy show next live. greg: guess who is here. wendy williams. welcome. it's just us. wendy, congratulations, hi.
9:11 am
>> hi, greg. rosanna: are you thinner than last year? >> maybe. rosanna: i'm so angry. >> this is what happened, summer vacation and then you are looking forward to coming back. greg: the only time of year we are excited about school. >> when third grade, fifth grade, tenth grated you always try to do something bet tore charm the boys or the girls. you know what i'm saying. 7 seasons. greg: what'd you do this summer to raise the game a little bit? you enjoyed the summer? rosanna: what'd you do? do anything fun or take a vacation? >> no. fun stuff, i have been on tour, i went to 17 different cities this summer.
9:12 am
which is 17 times two, 34 plane rides, a sprinter and a tour bus. i have been touring the country and doing standup sit down tour and promoting the talk show and oh, i film add movie in hawaii. rosanna: that sounds good. what movie? >> two days please, 15 hours flying and 15 hours back. rosanna: what island were you on? >> i don't know. i just know two days. but my comedy tour ends this saturday. greg: where? >> morristown, new jersey. are you going to drive your honda? >> greg: yes. i am pleased you know about that. >> i watch "good day." rosanna: we watch your show. the hot topics, oh, did you hear
9:13 am
about nicole the comedian and went on youtube. the fat shamer. dear fat girl. greg: it sounds mean. rosanna: she got a lot of youtube hits and they suspended her account. let's take a listen. >> fat shaming is not -- it is a race card without a race. >> i'm so out raged. i don't know who this person is. wendy, what'd you think? no big deal, right? >> random white girl talking smack. rosanna: are you not allowed to talk about how heavy someone is? >> you are allowed to talk about how heavy someone is or how jewish or black, whatever.
9:14 am
yes, fat people, we can get it too. we because coming from a place of fat, you know what i'm saying. greg: rosanna and i are obese on the weight chart. >> i have been that way all my life. rosanna: we struggling too. i was incensed of what she's saying. you need to stop eating. you know. greg: look, it is not nice. but there's so much nonsense that is not nice. avoid it. ignore it. >> when you make a point, you close your eyes. like stevie wonder. greg: should i wear glasses? >> no. i'm not incensed by that. there are many reasons people are fat. it is kind of insensitive. you know. whether you have a disease or
9:15 am
something going on, it is not just pushing back from the table. greg: fair enough. rosanna: what about the poll ticketses, are going after the candidates? >> no. we don't talk politics on wendy. i grew up in a time, my parents are still married, they have not talked own politics with each other at the dinner table, like old school. greg: here, politics is our bread and butter. stand by. donald trump, a summer of trump, is it lasting until the fall? >> yes, it will. rosanna: why? >> he's entertaining. greg: he's interesting, not boring. politics is being redefined. you are if you are boring you are out. >> yes, jeb bush is down.
9:16 am
hillary is struggling. girls, i'm sorry. rosanna: let me ask you, do you think it is because she's a woman she's struggling or the baggage? >> or perceived as a liar or somebody who, yes, heavy baggage. greg: for somebody not talking politics, you have a lot to say, i like it. >> no, shut me out. greg: there is more inside. rosanna: the trump thing is of just saying it. there is something, you are either mad at him or refreshing it. it is refreshing not to have a career poll ticks sticking to the talking points. greg: that speaks to you. a new slogan. say it like you mean it hashtag. that's the theme song. say it like you mean it show.
9:17 am
the same stupid wendy. rosanna: no it is not. it is entertaining. >> same entertaining talk show. we are tweaking a few things, but hot topics are 20 plus minutes. we have celebrities coming up. you can see neil patrick harris in the first week to betty whop. every monday of course, all hot topics on monday. we are not messing with the formula. the boobs stay. the long legs. rosanna: were you contemplating? >> no. the boobs stay. greg: some executive trying to redefine the show, let them see me. >> they have stopped a long time ago. the short dresses, the blond.
9:18 am
this ridiculousness is staying. rosanna: it works. greg: donald trump is watching "good day new york." check this out. please. during a national press conference over the weekend, this came up, right in the middle of it. >> all i want them to do is say hello the rosanna and greg too, great people. greg: jeb bush is not saying that. rosanna: there was a hashtag who are they. we are on the map. >> it is crazy, if he wins, the three of us could be going to white house. >> he promised us ambassador ships. greg: yes. rosanna: some where fun. no war. greg: if you see donald, tell him we say hello back. rosanna: to the clothing line. >> this is one of my dresses. hsn back on september 24th.
9:19 am
i like simplicity. i feel like a woman should spend on accessories but the clothing is giving out on us. the weight goes up, down, everything in my line is under a hundred dollars and back on hsn for the winter collection on september 24th. the comedy still stands. i will be in morristown, new jersey on saturday, don't judge me. rosanna: would they? how dare they? >> everything from the costumes to the stories i tell and the way i tell them, it is not talk show wendy. greg: i know, you use bad words. rosanna: oh, i like that. >> more than that. greg: what is that? date.

when someone cares, you are doing by taking care of yourself and them. the woman is now raising two beautiful children. suicide is a short term problem. when you commit suicide an a long term solution to a short term problem. you change lives by spreading the word. rosanna: what else are you focussing on in the new season? >> well, the health of your minds the the number one thing that americans are worried about. more than the hernias or the weight loss. we have the ability to actually have people see mental health counsellors and now everybody has access to that. that wasn't the case. rosanna: let me ask you something, i talked it with
9:37 am
friends over the weekend, are we seeing more people with mental health issues or because they are being diagnosed? >> more problems. because the fabric that allows humanity to survive, the safety net, was us. we are defined by the people in our lives. when we don't have the connections shs and social media is pulling us apart and we have to keep balanced in life. give the people the ability to find more me time and treasure what they are going through and living in the moment. the moment that many things can be more apparent to you. greg: it is the only moment that we have. wow, who knew your show saved lives. rosanna: i thought you were going to mouth to mouth. >> one second. >> greg came on the show and he's going to be on.
